>> there's no obstruction whatsoever and i'm looking forward to it. >> do you have a date set? >> here is the story. >> do you have a date set? >> i don't know, no. i guess we're talking about two or three weeks, i would love to do it. subject to my lawyers and all that, but i would love to do it. >> did you do it under oath, mr. president? >> you mean like hillary said that? who said that? >> i said it. >> did hillary did it under oath.? >> i have no idea. >> i think you have an idea. wait, wait, do you really not have an idea? i'll give you an idea. she didn't do it under oath, but i would do it under oath. and you know she didn't do it under oath. >> if you didn't know about hillary, then you're not much of a reporter. >> and you're going to do it earn oath? >> you would do it under oath? >> i would, absolutely. >> to be clear, hillary clinton was not -- and, again, was not under oath when she gave a voluntary interview to the fbi back in 2016. making false statements to federal investigators is a crime regardless. a short time after the president's comments, one of his lawyers qualified president trump's guarantee. ty cobb said trump was willing to testify, quote, under oath, subject to the terms being negotiated by his personal counsel. cobb said those terms were still being negotiated. however, the president has negotiated in his past on his willingness to speak to mueller. watch this. >> would you be willing to speak under oath the to give your version -- >> 100%. >> so if robert mueller wanted to speak about that -- >> i would be glad to tell him exactly what i just told you. >> would you be willing to meet with him without condition or would you demand that a strict set of parameters be placed around you and special counsel? >> i don't think so, no, i don't think i did. i don't know what is the big deal with that. i would ask you who you -- who did you vote for? i don't think it's a big deal. but i don't remember this -- i said that this morning. i don't remember asking him that question. >> is it possible you did? >> i don't remember asking him the question. >> "the washington post" reports the trump/mccabe meeting is of interest. trump avoided questions of whether mckaip kab, the fbi's deputy director should remain in office but suggested that the bureau's number two official may have personally pocketed campaign funds which he claims were funneled from hillary clinton. >> should mccabe go, mr. president? should mccabe go? >> well, mccabe got more than $500,000 from essentially hillary clinton and is he investigating hillary clinton? >> should he go 1347. >> do you remember, did anybody here, in any of my speeches where i talked about mccabe, he was the star of my speeches. i said a man who was more or less in charge, the wife got $500,000 from terry. terry is hillary. and, yeah, i mean -- >> do you regret having him as your fbi director, then? >> i keep out of it. that is the way it fell. he's been there. but he was the star of many of my speeches. he got from 500,000 to 700,000, whatever the money wasp. got that money for the wife. in virginia, it's very interesting, you don't have to spend the money. so i never checked as to whether or not they spent the money on the campaign. how much of the money did he spend on the campaign. >> reports show mccabe's wife, her campaign spent the entirety of it on tv and radio. the fbi says mccabe immediately sought conflicts of interest. let's talk more about all of this. joining us now, eugene scott. good to talk to you this morning. in your most recent speice, you write about the current state of opinion when it comes to russian collusion. talk to us about that. >> yeah. there was a spol showing where america stans and whether or not trump directly himself was interfering in the investigation to the degree of possibly committing obstruction of justice. and what we saw was that at least half of americans actually believe there was had collusion between the trump campaign and russia and about half of americans believe trump directly tried to interfere in the investigation and perhaps committed obstruction of justice. and i thought what was interesting was the sizable the percentages of groups on the trump train believing the president committed obstruction of justice. >> let me ask you quickly about these attacks that are being unleashed against the fbi and mccabe in particular. is it hurting the credibility of the mueller investigation or could it back fire against those spearheading the attractions? >> it's certainly hurting the credibility of the investigate with republicans and with people who believe the investigation could be politically charged. but it certainly could back fire because you have to remember that this is a campaign that spent the last several years trying to communicate that the you law enforcement was to be trusted and to be believed and supported in reaction to a growing level of distrust of law enforcement during the rise of the black lives matters movement and so it seems like the trump administration is pro police when they believe law enforcement is pro trump. eugene, thanks. sure. at any moment, president trump is set to touch down the in davos for the world economic forum. last night, before departing, trump tweeted that his goal for the trip is to tell the world how great america is doing. we'll only get better. our country is finally winning again. the president is set to driver a speech again tomorrow. joining us now live, kelly o'donnell. can you give us a preview of the president's speech tomorrow and what we should expect from his visit. i know it is a very snowy davos there. >> and a beautiful one. right now, the president is on marine one traveling from zurich to here in davos. it has to be a spectacular right to just get here. the pet, this is his first time to the world income forum in da vote. the president today will do some important business with one-on-one meetings. close to israel's prime minister, a long prip there, they're on the same page in many ways and the president, who has yet to make an official visit to the united kingdom and has had an up and down relationship although guarded from both sides with theresa may. so tomorrow, the president will bring his america first message, but senior officials who are a part of the delegation here, an unusually high number are on this trip. they say america first is not america alone, but the president has some relationships to repair here. during his visit, he will meet with the head of the african union after his much talked about and controversial remarks as reported by senator durbin and others in a private meeting where he spoke disparagingly. the president has to try and sell american business and what is a good economy now. that's the main focus of this trip. and it comes at a time when the president is not the most popular figure here, but he is the u.s. president. that always carries weight. >> i know it's an extremely busy trip, but i hope you get some runs in there on the slopes. thanks so much. turning back now to kentucky, authorities have announced plans to charge a 15-year-old accused of opening fire inside a high school as an adult. two students were killed and 18 other people injured when gunshots rang out at marshall county high school on tuesday. this morning, several of the victims are still in the hospital. billy holt and preston cope have been identified identified as the two teenagers killed in the shooting. bailey's parents spoke to nbc news about the incident. >> i know she would have been his friend in a heartbeat. she was so beautiful and smart and perfect and such a loving regarded person. >> incredibly sad. yesterday afternoon, president trump tweeted that he had spoken with the kentucky governor adding my thoughts and prayers are with bailey holt, preston cope, their families and all of the wounded victims who are in recovery. >> absolutely heartbreaking. president trump said yesterday that he is open to a pathway to citizenship for immigrants brought to the u.s. illegally as children. >> do you want citizenship for dreamers?
