[ intense music playing ] it's here, but it's going by fast. the opportunity of the year is back: the mercedes-benz summer event. get to your dealer today for incredible once-a-season offers, and start firing up those grilles. lease the gle350 for $579 a month at your local mercedes-benz dealer. mercedes-benz. the best or nothing. peter: matt kuchar with a 5-iron. the lie looks good. gary: peter, i've never -- i really haven't seen anything twhrike hole today. it's a hard par 3 but literally, it's impossible. the wind is not blowing. it's kind of soft out there. there's the deal right there. jason makes that putt on 17 and boy, i'll take stock in him. not many guys can catch him if he makes that and doesn't mess up 18. peter: now summerhays going with a 7-iron. gary: 7-iron? ok. 20, go ahead. 15 balls in the water, peter. peter: this should make the water because it's well out to the right. gary: yeah, it's a flare. let's see. oh, that's just dead. it's in the bunker on the left side over the bunker. can't get within 20 photo, something hike that. all right this might have to go in right here. ian: you would think so he knows scombracen is inside thee feet for birdie. this to get to 1 urn. nice lie, dottie. dottie: excellent lie and i think with the fire taken out of the greens i think this is holeable. ian: no, just popped on the first bounce to. 1. jim: kisner for par. nick: suddenly with this little bit of rain, the ball is skidding and going off the back edge at muirfield village is carnage. jim: i have no idea how kuchar is going to play shot at 16. nick: isn't it amazing. off size of your dining room table to land it on. jim: so kisner bogeys the last and shoots 11. tied for eighth at eight under. next week, the cbs sports smart. lucas oil offroad racing series. saturday at 2:00. golf coverage then coming up from memphis. the fedex st. jude classic. next saturday and sunday, 3:00 eastern time. back to 17. ian: rickie fowler was second here, jimmy, back in 2010. nick: rickie didn't want to be putting first. ian: no, and it's not a gimme. it's four feet. nick: he has a chance if he's two back play to the last. ian: he's putted those beautifully. he really has. what jason dufner would give for that putting stroke. jason, we showed before how the winners here have been so good in approach to the green. well, jason dufner is number one this week in approaches to the green and that's what this course demands. accuracy into these greens. inside three feet, dottie, a little right-left. dottie: a little right-left, don't give the hole away. make a positive stroke. ian: to take a two-shot lead. oh, he sneaks it in jason dufner heads to the last two in front. nick: he's definitely standing over it saying go, go, go, but he's two shots ahead of everybody. ian: four bogeys in a row yesterday morning. the rest of the time it's been extremely good. 16. peter: 157 feet. knot good shot here, gary? gary: yes, it is. it's all downhill and then other a knob and down the hill. now it's going to hit the knob and send it back down the hill. couch -- kuch -- peter, what do you think? i can't believe how far he hit it over the green here. 18. jim: this top finish with a five. jordan comes in at minus six. leveled out after an opening 66. jack, i know you want to be down to greet jason dufner in case he's your winner. might have a tie here not only to win this tournament but he won the twrourment huh won your fifth back in 1980. jack: i talked him this morning and he said he still has a chance to win. he's just got to finish. jim: could be the second player from ohio to win the memorial. joining you. jack: that's a little useless fact of information. and possibly the next handshake could be reserved for jason dufner. jack, thanks so much for a great week. jack: you guys have been great. i appreciate it. thavenlgts gary: the wind kind of helped that chip shot. held it up a little bit. something just came in here and went boom. nick: wow, and who's turned tout lights as well? [laughter] jeepers. gary: it's apock limit nick here right now, nick. i'm grabbing on something stronger than we have up here right now with in wind hitting us. oh, i saw lightning too back there. jim: oh, boy. how about those flags over the scoreboard? nick: 10 minutes ago it was flat calm and suddenly we have this -- jim: dark and stormy. nick: my favorite drink in bermuda. hopefully give us another 20 minutes, please, golfing gods or weather gods get this finished. gary: these boys are kind of stopping play up here at 16 now. they're wandering around look for a ruling and i don't know what's going on. pruitt, pga tour -- i don't know. kuchar went over and got him about something. i don't know what it is. nick: is there enough gust for the ball to as late? gary: i don't think so. i mean, it's just windy. we've all played in windy. jim: and of course this is maybe the hardest tee shot on the course. dufner knows it. and tough hazard down the left. you got a whole series of very mean-spirited bunkers down on the right. nick: you still have to get ate good 300 yards. there's a tree on the corner. just get it to the 300 and then it turns and heads up the hill. doesn't need to turn it over. actually, he's going to hate low draw. going with 3-wood. i like that. make a full swing. dottie: that starts up the right side, gentlemen. nick: and it's going to plug in the rough way back. jim: that's a touch spot. nick: that's before the bunkers. my goodness that will be probably 200-plus out the rough up the hill. but he has two shots. he has maybe a shot in hand over rickie's. need a three to a five for a tie. suddenly the wind calms just a touch. dottie: there's still a little bit of thunder rumbling out here. there's something in the neighborhood. nick: you just don't want to rush it. dottie: no, jason did a really good job of gathering himself before hitting that and rickie's done the same. nick: he's got driver. send it right down the right edge of the fairway. dottie: that does start up the right side of the fairway. nick: tipping. tipping back. got to be. got to be -- perfect. jim: 16. gary: he's backed off this three times and now the wind kind of stopped a little bit. he's going to give it a whack. he rolls that one by four feet, three feet. jim: just a moment ago, as fowler was over that tee shot, you may have heard a little excitement. as kevinstream streelman. started walking. begging, and getting his wish. that goes in the books as the 71st hole-out. nick: unbelievable. at jack's course, which is so difficult in places, it's got the highest number of holeouts from around the green than any other tournament. jim: 16. gary: this was kuch a second ago. these poor guys need a helmet to play this hole. peter: that was moments ago, gary, because they just blew the horn again. gary: a lightning bolt just hit just after matt kuchar putted and it went boom really close to us here so there we go again. jim: and the rarity here is there's only six players still on the golf course and the leader is on the 18th. nick: perfect. in the middle of the fairway. sorry, it's not. in the right rough so we have plenty of golf to play. jim: so we have another delay. we'll be back at the memorial tournament presented by nationwide in just a moment. jim: rickie fowler has just marked his position in the fairway at the 18th and the players have been told to come in. which means they don't think this is something that's just going to rush through the area. already having endured an hour and 17-minute delay. probably got about somewhere between 25 and 30 minutes of golf action left with the final pairing on the 17th tee. you see the really dangerous stuff looks to be a little south and west of us but gary mccord during the break was telling us there was a lightning bolt that was a little too close for comfort. poor jason dufner. he's got to think about this one now for a while. nick: icing the potential winner. jim: again tonight on cbs -- "60 minutes." "ncis: los angeles," "madam secretary," and "code black." two-shot lead but we're not sure to be lie he has here at the 72nd hole. but he's back there pretty deep. nick: he's already up to the front of the green heading for the clubhouse to the locker room. jim: here's a look at the full field. again, we only have three pairings still on the course, six players in all. and some of these players like patrick cantlay, you just saw his name go by. they have a 36-hole u.s. open qualifier tomorrow. nick: which is pretty unusual for pros to suddenly be going 36-hole stroke play. no real warm-up. of course some will be playing here, some will be playing blind. as in no yardages. the only yardage is what their caddie gives them. jim: and there's the full 75 players that made the cut. is this might be -- i was going to say the shot of the tournament. nick: well, he hit plenty of famous wedge shots win the pga championship a couple of years ago. jim: just like this. but is it the shot of the tournament if he goes on to win it or is it the hold shot at 1 on friday? nick: no, it's this one. because he knew the importance. make a birdie, give himself a two-shot cushion. he's got to believe, make the four for the win. jim: so they all come in with this lightning storm hovering in dublin, ohio. you e jim: again, a reminder, next week offroad racing saturday at 2:00 eastern time. that will lead into our golf coverage from t.p.c. south wind in memphis. the fedex st. jude classic. full coverage saturday and sunday 3:00 eastern time. tonight, the prime-time last time begins with "60 minutes" followed by "ncis: los angeles," chris o'donnell, "madam secretary," "code black." just receiving word that we're going to in a couple of minutes, we're going to be stepping aside and we will be picking up the coverage on golf channel when play resumes tonight when, they go back out. golf channel will be coming here to join us live. that's the game plan here in just a couple of minutes. i didn't expect to us see, what was a perfect week all week long and waking up today -- there had always been some concern about the weather on sunday but yesterday they started to say, all those experts, that it's going to be ok. maybe 15%, 20% chance. the 20% came through. nick: unfortunately 15% means 100 in electrical. you have great hot weather for basically the last week and unfortunately it put it in this situation, which is a tough one because this was a real exciting afternoon. this was great golf all week. jim: and we had a stretch there for a while. eight players on this back nine won two shots of the lead and all of a sudden we come out of that hour-plus break and jason dufner hit all the shots. knocked it on 15 in two. two-putt birdie. the tee shot at 17, magnificent. still got some comply occasions at 18 once play resumes. nick: he's got a tough lie. it's going to be wet again. that was some career shot to get that onto the green. and rickie is in a great position. perfect drive. if he can throw one in there and threaten a three to a five. which -- this is definitely not over yet. jim: one thing about where we are in ohio, on the western edges of the eastern time zone, they could play here past 8:00. nick: 8:15 or so? these boys will keep going. jim: we only have about 30 minutes or so of golf action left. and place -- based on what we've heard, they do think these systems could come through rather rapidly. and again, once play resumes we'll be joining you live on golf channel, be breaking into golf channel's programming. [captioning funded by cbs sports division] [captioning performed by the national captioning institute, which is responsible for its caption content and accuracy. visit ncicap.org] jim: this was the birdie putt. he taps those a little more delicately than most. nick: i think he stands over it far while and says ok, go, move. and he has to go through his breathing exercises. it is a very conscious effort to get that putter head moving. jim: again, "60 minutes" is straight-ahead for those of you in the eastern time zones. one more reminder. once they start playing, we will be coming to you live on golf channel here this evening. still got a few twists and turns perhaps ahead. you never know. fowler in position to strike. dufner in trouble off the tee at the 72 nt. nick, it's been a fun week. we have some more golf action here later tonight at some point i would think. for all the crew and our thanks to jack nicklaus and his amazing team of folks here at muirfield village. jason dufner two in front with a second break in the action because of weather. jim, nick, and the whole crew saying so long for now from the memorial tournament presented by nationwide. donat gnc's lowest pricesnds of the season sale great products for every goal at this seasons biggest savings plus free cash back rewards sale ends june 7th change begins here one new gnc oo, yeah. are you ready for a rush? yes, yes i am. you're in for a treat. fast play is the new way to play fast and win instantly from the pennsylvania lottery. pick a game, get your ticket and see if you've won. i won! pretty fast, huh? fast play. play fast. win instantly. captioning funded by cbs and ford. we go further, so you can. >> vladimir kara-murza was an anti-putin activist, which he knew was a dangerous mission. and one day in may 2015, he learned just how dangerous. >> i went, within about 20 minutes, from feeling completely normal to feeling like a very sick man. i don't remember anything for the next month. >> he survived against all odds, only to recently fall deathly ill again. and again, he and others believe he was poisoned. >> it's death if you cross the putin regime. >> the most beautiful thing. i love innovation, i love competing. i hate my competitors. >> you hate your competitors? >> of course, i do. i want to beat them up. >> you want to make dannon
