meteorologist lauren casey has he details on our warm weekend in the cbs3 weather center. >> our high temperature in philadelphia topping at nearly 70 degrees, our average higho >> if you were impacted by sandy you definitely have that ingrained in your memory so much quieter conditions for us. weekends work continues as we head into tomorrow temperatures warm even further but we do have a rain chance later in the day. we'll time that out. temperatures get cooler on the backside of a cold front. for halloween but really nice fall weather for the holiday so we'll talk about what to expect and how much you'll have to bundle up over your costume in your full forecast coming up in just a few. >> lauren, we'll he see you soon. thank you. >> as lauren just noted today does mark the fourth anniversary of superstorm sandy crashing into the jersey shore on october 29, 2012 the storm made landfall near atlantic city and slowly moved inland. sandy claimed 182 lives including 10 in new jersey, two in pennsylvania. and it also caused more than $71 billion in damage. the storm devastated coastal communities. and just over a week now until election dane more fallout from the october bombshell, the fbi's latest investigation of hillary clinton's e-mails is dominating the presidential campaign. we get more now from cbs news correspondent brook silva brag today. >> ♪ >> reporter: hillary clinton's campaign called fbi director james comey's letter to congress long on inyu went he dough and short on facts. comey wrote yesterday new e-mails have beeny had been foundry late to do clinton's use of a e-mail server but couldn't say if they were significant. >> it's pretty strange to put something like that out with such little information right before an election. we've called on director comey to explain everything right away put all out on the table. >> reporter: the new e-mails were found on a laptop belonging to huma abedin. loretta lynch disagreed with comey's decision. republican presidential nominee donald trump argued that is evidence of lynch's bias. >> there are those and i happen to be one of them that who think hillary offered loretta lynch a reappointment as attorney general. >> reporter: an associated press poll taken before the fbi's announcement found most likely voters think clinton broke the law with her use of a private server. you're an undecided voter from colorado. >> yes. >> reporter: does this affect how you lean at all. >> a little bit. i think i'm leaning towards trump. >> at this point there's nothing they could do to turn off the people that support them which is crazy if you thinks about. >> reporter: early voting is already under way and more than 20 million votes have already been cast. brook silva-braga for cbs3 "eyewitness news." >> voters head to the polls in just 10 days. stay with "eyewitness news" for complete coverage as we count down to election day. also in the news this evening authorities are investigating a police-involved shooting in haddon township, new jersey. it happened at route 130 and route 168 this morning. investigators say a township police officer struggled with the driver of a car after they say he sped away from a traffic stop. the officer shot the driver in the lower body during this struggle. he was not seriously wounded and the officer was not injured. opening week for the philadelphia 76ers has been overshadowed by several controversies involving the performance of a the national anthem. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do was at today's game this afternoon where she talked to fans. >> reporter: rumors of an anthem protest by philadelphia 76ers players proved to be unfounded. the national anthem during saturday afternoon's game against the atlanta hawks went off without a hitch. >> ♪ >> reporter: sixers management faced an anthem controversy earlier this week during wednesday's season opener against the oklahoma thunder. r and b recording artist sevyn streeter took to social media to explain that the team pulled her performance at the last minute. >> 76ers game to sing the national anthem and the organization is telling me that i can't because i'm wearing a we matters jersey. >> reporter: the organization at first issued a vague statement in response but after speaking with players apologized to the singer in a statement friday. it reads in part we believe that the wrong decision was made and sevyn should have been welcomed to sing. we apologize to her and in an effort to move the conversation forward we have reached out to offer her an opportunity to return and perform at a game of her choice. most fans we spoke to at the hawks game said street should have been allowed to perform. >> freedom of speech. you should be able to say what you want to say and you shouldn't be like punished for having an opinion on something regardless of what it is. >> i'm wearing a 76ers jersey because i'm supporting my team. since she was kind of supporting herself and her people and all of us. >> reporter: season ticket holder robert tyson said he agreed with her message but it was the wrong venue. >> it does draw a distraction to the game itself but i think the message behind it is important. i think it just should be told a different way. >> reporter: streeter has not yet responded to the sixers or made any comments on social media about the offers to come back. i'm trang do cbs3 "eyewitness news." >> also today we learned miami marlins pitcherrer josé fernandez had cocaine in his system before his deadly crash. he was legally drunk at the time of the accident. the star pitcher and two of his friends were killed after their private boat hit a jetty he near miami beach. and officials say engine problems caused an american airlines flight to catch fire on a runway at chicago o'hare international airport today. friday actually forcing dozens to evacuate. a federal official says the airliner experienced uncontained engine failure. it happened happens when engine parts break off and are spewed outside of the engine. flames and heavy black smoke poured from the plane as it sat on the runway. officials say 21 people were injured. the investigation does continue into a fed ex plane that caught fire while landing at the fort lauderdale hollywood international airport. it also happened yesterday. fed ex officials say the plane's only crew members were both pilots who escaped dune rope ladder. the pilots told authorities they believe the left landing gear collapsed on the runway. >> it looks like it came in for a hard landing looks like maybe they broke off the left side landing gear. however that happened and caused some sort of fire have all that smoke. >> fed ex says none of the 46,000 pieces of mail and other cargo on board were damaged. talks do continue today to avoid a strike by septa bus subway and trolley workers, members of transport local 234 are preparing picket signs. they are threatening to walk off the job on tuesday at 12:o1 if their union and septa management can't reach an agreement. sticking points include pension and healthcare. septa posted a strike contingency plan on its web site. the regional rail lines will not be affected in the event of a strike. it is one of the biggest boat races in the country. coming up we'll take you to the schuylkill regatta and tell you why the racers were keeping a very close eye out for a very unusual animal in the water. >> ♪ plus, spooky sights and sounds. a halloween treat from the philadelphia orchestra. lauren. >> and we'll have a warm and wet end to the weekend. we'll time out that sunday rainfall but on the back front of a cold front, temperatures cool pretty dramatically for our halloween. i'll let you know how much you'll have to bundle up on monday in your full forecast coming up. >> ♪ republican party bosses looked to find brian fitzpatrick. nearly three thousand miles - that's how far away they "hand-picked" him to run for his brother's seat. but all mike and brian fitzpatrick share is a name. brian fitzpatrick supports a radical republican agenda, including defunding planned parenthood, just like donald trump. a hundred and sixty miles down the road in dc, brian fitzpatrick will put his party first, not pennsylvania families. house majority pac is responsible for the content of this advertising. when i was too busy with the kids to get a repair estimate.
