Take a look at this video severe thunderstorms triggered flash flooding in vegas this video from inside a Hotel Parking lot there, a trapped cabdriver and passengers scrambled to the roof of that taxi as water continued to rise. Were told they made it out okay. Many others along the vegas strip had to be rescued from their cars too, flash flood, a dangerous thing, matt, but for us were not talking about any kind of rain. No rain, we had a fair share late lay and with the rain tomorrow we will potentially be kind of looking for those locally heavy downpours, localized flash flooding. While not a factor today but in 24 hours we could be looking ahead. A wonderful way to end the weekend. I dont think it gets much better then this check out our Neighborhood Network up there in the broad headville area. You will see a few cloud, but overall, it is just a fantastic start to the day, albeit, in terms of the day where we need a sweat shirt near poconos going outside this morning. It is only 58 Degrees South of mount pocono. If you are up there, north of the city this afternoon this is what were looking at poconos rise, sunshine for us. 71 degrees. Low humidity a very comfortable day up in the poconos if you are so lucky to be up there. Across the rest of the Delaware Valley, it will be a great day as well. We will see 70s through lancaster backup in the Lehigh Valley, allentown coming in at 77 degrees this afternoon. We will peak at 81 in philadelphia back down toward the shore lower 80s, back to wildwood, millvilles high 79 degrees. Definitely not your typical beginning of the august afternoon. Satellite and radar current set upright now not a whole lot going on, High Pressure in control for the most part just a few high, cloud possibly being seen. There is that High Pressure in control sliding off the coast through the afternoon and evening hours today and what that allows for is a big area of low pressure to come out of the plains, through the chicago land area maybe at times and then through ohio river valley and Delaware Valley, showers and thunderstorms for us, starting then on monday, evening, in the Early Morning, lasting until the afternoon. So this is what we are looking at right around midnight or so that low still off to the west , warm front will come through, first, lift through and then, cold front will be following it quickly on the back side of that low before High Pressure comes in early on tuesday. So timing wise this is what were looking at three or 4 00 n to our monday morning when we will see showers develop, generally north and west of the city to start with that three or 4 00 in the morning time frame, heaviest rain comes through in the afternoon hours tomorrow, and showers, thunderstorms, they could linger over some areas, longer then others and so locally heavy rain, is a possibility with this system tomorrow, High Pressure moves in by tuesday and then we will dry things out. So here are those future rain amounts, again, this is just one model, it is not exactly what will be happening in your backyard but again we could look for locally heavier amounts up near reading, allentown, maybe up toward mount pocono as well so keep an eye there but heaviest rain will be in the southern new jersey and then back down into southern delaware. So again localized heavier rainfall does mean that localized flash flooding is a possibility never want to drive through any of those flooded road if you do see that tomorrow. For today 81 degrees, 78 to go with those thunderstorms tomorrow and really good weather, tuesday, wednesday, thursday 80s, sunshine, humidity could be higher in the middle of the week and that lead into some showers jan by friday and saturday a lot of good days ahead. Absolutely. 8 19. Time to check red. Lets check Amanda Mueller in the cbs3 Traffic Center. Hi there, a manned. We are looking at 95 north bound at route one we have construction for drivers here but good news nothing to cause any backlogs, crews have right lanes closed for repairs, which should have in trouble getting by there this morning, rest of the majors and bridges are clear as well. No issues in or out of the city. Heading outside to runner rand near willow grove mall we have good news that earlier overturn vehicle on old york road and welsh road is now cleared 611 is opened so no need to use those alternates any longer. We are seeing mild congestion but nothing that shouldnt iron itself out shortly. We are looking live at the vine everything looking good here but we did just find out a traffic light is out at girard and 34th street and again that is girard and 34th so please be careful and go slowly if you need to travel through that area in the Traffic Center im Amanda Mueller now back to you. Com it is happening today the eagles are holding an opened practice at the link that starts at 10 00 a. M. Their first preseason game is thursday night in green bay and they will start their regular season on september 10th, they will face washington. And a big festival is taking over Second Street in philadelphia today, the Second Street festival runs from Spring Garden to germantown. We are looking at video from last years event. There will be food trucks, Live Performance and beer gardens, it is happening from noon until 10 00 p. M. , festival is free, to attend. Matt, it is a great day for that festival. Absolutely wonderful day to be outside maybe go check it out. Yes. We will see what is going on but it will be a fantastic, day, and across the entire Delaware Valley. Our weather watchers are hanging out this morning, it has been a cool morning for many follow action cross the Delaware Valley including our weather watchers, a little bit earlier reporting temperatures in the 50s especially north of the city but we do now have actually somebody reporting some 70s, and that is jenny reporting 70s in the cherry hill area haze maybe for her as well. I do think we will probably see some sunshine but again our humidity just le enough i dont think we will get too much in the way of fog or haze here earlier this morning. Lets head out to eds house saying it is 62, sunshine in chesterfield as well and one finally witness weather watcher john in mullica saying 63 degrees plenty of sunshine for him in the southern southwestern parts of the new jersey and yesterday we had sunshine, too in the afternoon to 79 degrees yesterday for our saturday high temperature. That was well below our normal high which is 83, and it looks like today is another afternoon of below average temperatures. Heres what we are expecting only 81 degrees. It will feel fantastic. We have low humidity, a lot of sunshine, now our winds currently are generally out of the north, to the northwest, and then they will be switching throughout the afternoon. We will see more southeasterly flow later in the day so that is an indication of what we are experiencing later tonight and tomorrow and that is a change in our weather from this nice dry, kind of very comfortable air, to more of a humid, more muggy air mass that will feed into some showers and thunderstorm that were going to be seeing as we get through nighttime hours tonight, and then into our monday, as well. Outside right now our current set up we have High Pressure in control to our south, there is not a whole lot going on in the philadelphia area poconos, south jersey, wonderful morning, again, temperatures are lower, humidity lower and sunnies shining. But that High Pressure will slide off the coast line as we go through the daytoday and that makes room for this area have low pressure sliding in as we go through nighttime hours tonight, it will originally come through with our warm front first and then low will track to the south and then cold front will filter in behind that. Not too much going on right now but as we go in the Early Morning hours tomorrow by three or 4 00 in the morning we are seeing showers west and then north of the city at first three or 4 00 in the morning on monday morning. By seven or eight or 9 00 still looking at best chance for precipitation maybe not that corridor just to our north but some showers, could still be possible here in philadelphia and then back down into south jersey as well as early as maybe eight or 9 00 in the morning but the heaviest rain through the afternoon hours and probably going to fall south of philadelphia back down into southern delaware as well, a few pockets of maybe heavier rainfall could go through Lehigh Valley but again heaviest rain looks to stay south of philadelphia, we will be drying things out and clearing things out quickly most of the precipitation end on monday night into the Early Morning hours of tuesday, and then tuesday afternoon, we will actually see some sunshine in the forecast. So this is what were looking at time line wise, north and west through the overnight hours tonight about three or 4 00 in the morning when precipitation starts and heaviest at times as we go through daytime hours on monday south of philadelphia back into south jersey and delaware and there is potential for local flash flooding so be prepared for that because we have had that rain, in the last couple of days, so do watch out for flooded roadways and never drive through any flood roadways and showers and thunderstorms are ending as we go through late hours on monday and early portion of tuesday. 81 degrees as i said for our high today, we have showers and thunderstorms that will allow to us get to 78 on monday, dryer and nice with very comfortable conditions, jan, tuesday, wednesday, thursday and another chance for showers on friday though.
