temperatures compared to this time yesterday are cooler from a debris to 7 degrees cooler. i would call it pleasant this morning about to head outside and humidity levels will continue to drop through morning and afternoon. depending where you are we will see upper 70's, palmyra new jersey at 77 degrees this morning. this afternoon we have phillies/mets finishing off series first pitch 1:35, hot day. 90 degrees. we have a mix of sun and cloud. we are up to 92 for philadelphia. upper 80's at the shore, sea breeze this afternoon, poconos feeling good at 84. hotter tomorrow and then we will talk of the with man running down the street screaming, and it happened around 11:30 last night. officers say 35 year-old victim was stabbed in the alley right about a block before collapsing. >> she appears at this time to have been stabbed once in the right neck. >> police say there were quite a few surveillance cameras around that surround that lex and they hepp video lead them to the killer. also new this morning police are investigating a shooting in north philadelphia they say a woman was sitting on the accepts in the 1100 block of oakdale street when a car pulled out and someone started shooting. a woman was shot three times, twice in the right thigh, once this is left thigh and she is in stable condition. and in other news this morning local republicans are on their way to cleveland for the national convention. cherri gregg from our sister station kyw news radio is live in exton, chester county where they have just boarded buses headed for ohio. cherri you had a delegate on saying that the rnc to him was something that was very exciting. >> reporter: yes, it is extremely exciting and lots of enthusiasm, at that press conference, which was a send off for about two dozen of the area delegates here, as they got down to the bus and hit the road for the seven hour journey to cleveland and the republican national convention. lets take a look at the video as you can see those delegates came from all over the philadelphia region. they are just a few of the 50,000 people who were expecting to attend convention festivities that kick off tomorrow. goal, of course, for g.o.p. delegates from all 50 states to dominate donald trump. he announced indiana governor mike pence as his running mate. so far mixed reviews. of course that could change during the primary run. about 57 percent of the republican vote trump won and currently in the dead heat with the presumptive democratic many in minute necessity hillary clinton. i asked one of the delegates she thinks it will take to bring the party together. >> i think he need a good cabinet and yes, he has to select good people, and i don't really think that he is a racist or begins women. he hires a lot of women, minorities, and i think that it is all going to come together. >> of course, the point of the convention toys rally the entire party, pennsylvania is sending 71 delegates, 54 unbound and we will begin reports on "eyewitness news" this week. once the republican convention end, the democrats will start to gather here in philadelphia. hard to believe but we are down to just eight days before the convention that happens at the wells fargo center. and presumptive democratic nominee hillary clinton is promised to go introduce an amendment overturning citizens united, supreme court ruling that opened the flood of corporate union spend nothing politics. clinton made the announcement in a video to political activist meeting in st. louis. muslim cleric accused of master minding friday night's coup attempt is speaking from his compound in the poconos. with his eyes he turn to wills eye. >> i could see you. >> reporter: doctor alex levin determined one eye was damage beyond repair but there was hepp for his left eye where they found cataract and other issues that could be fix surgically. the problem was, they didn't know what had caused the eye issues. so it would be risky. >> it is a complete unknown, whether they showed, and associated with this vision at all. >> reporter: complicating things john paul had in language skills, nothing was known about him or his background. but risky surgery worked, the day after, john paul could see. >> truly incredible thing to see, great kid, and blossomed in many ways, making unbelievable strides report report john paul is in the second grade now where he has a favorite subject. >> social studies. impaired people can do. in addition to wanting to play piano michael is the first blind person to graduate from rutgers law school in camden, he is now focusing on helping john paul not with blindness average our hottest time period, 87 degrees is where we should be, well above that today. tomorrow hotter. mid 90's but humidity will not be oppressive. we are not having the excessive heat warnings or advisory in effect at this point. then we will get a drop in the temperatures from the week, wednesday into thursday. those are best days to be outside but then right back at it cranking up heat for friday into next weekend. dew point temperatures, earlier, later last week we were dealing with them in the 70's and now they are coming down a bit. still on the humid side. not unbearable. we will call it on the steamy side, tomorrow, little bit more humid and then tuesday, it starts to lessen and then pleasant on wednesday, so some good july weather coming at us for a couple days this dealing with full sunshine, outside, right now philadelphia woke up to some clouds. the last of the cloud deck moving to the south but now full sun in the city, temperatures will respond nicely to the sunshine, up to 76, light breeze out of the west at 5 miles an hour, and the last of the cloud moving across eastern, new jersey southern delaware, all rain has moved off shore but a dry afternoon. temperatures compared to this time yesterday are cooler from a debris to 7 degrees cooler. i would call it pleasant this morning about to head outside and humidity levels will continue to drop through morning and afternoon. depending where you are we will see upper 70's, palmyra new jersey at 77 degrees this morning. this afternoon we have phillies/mets finishing off series first pitch 1:35, hot day. 90 degrees. we have a mix of sun and cloud. we are up to 92 for philadelphia. upper 80's at the shore, sea breeze this afternoon, poconos feeling good at 84. hotter tomorrow and then we will talk about that relief later for workweek and time it out in weather in a few you minutes. >> justin, thank you. new this morning a with man is stabbed to death in kensington. powe responded to the scene of the with man running down the street screaming, and it happened around 11:30 last night. officers say 35 year-old victim was stabbed in the alley right about a block before collapsing. >> she appears at this time to have been stabbed once in the right neck. >> police say there were quite a few surveillance cameras around that surround that lex and they hepp video lead them to the killer. also new this morning police are investigating a shooting in north philadelphia they say a woman was sitting on the accepts in the 1100 block of oakdale street when a car pulled out and someone started shooting. a woman was shot three times, twice in the right thigh, once this is left thigh and she is in stable condition. and in other news this morning local republicans are on their way to cleveland for the national convention. cherri gregg from our sister station kyw news radio is live in exton, chester county where they have just boarded buses headed for ohio. cherri you had a delegate on saying that the rnc to him was something that was very exciting. >> reporter: yes, it is extremely exciting and lots of enthusiasm, at that press conference, which was a send off for about two dozen of the area delegates here, as they got down to the bus and hit the road for the seven hour journey to cleveland and the republican national convention. lets take a look at the video as you can see those delegates came from all over the philadelphia region. they are just a few of the 50,000 people who were expecting to attend convention festivities that kick off tomorrow. goal, of course, for g.o.p. delegates from all 50 states to dominate donald trump. he announced indiana governor mike pence as his running mate. so far mixed reviews. of course that could change during the primary run. about 57 percent of the republican vote trump won and currently in the dead heat with the presumptive democratic many in minute necessity hillary clinton. i asked one of the delegates she thinks it will take to bring the party together. >> i think he need a good cabinet and yes, he has to select good people, and i don't really think that he is a racist or begins women. he hires a lot of women, minorities, and i think that it is all going to come together. >> of course, the point of the convention toys rally the entire party, pennsylvania is sending 71 delegates, 54 unbound and reporter: pence tested out his stump speech before the crowd. >> donald trump is a good man and he will make a great president of this nation. >> reporter: trump says he admired work pence has done in indiana. >> indiana's unemployment raid and this is primary reason i wanted mike, other than he looks very good, governor pence balanced the budget. can you imagine a balanced budget. >> reporter: during the republican national convention next week pence will work to have trump unite the party and defeat hillary clinton in november. the republican running mate sat down with leslie stall for their first interview that airs sunday on 60 minutes. >> what about the negative side, he apologized for being a negative candidate. >> i understand that i'll give you an example, hillary clinton is a we will begin reports on "eyewitness news" this week. once the republican convention end, the democrats will start to gather here in philadelphia. hard to believe but we are down to just eight days before the convention that happens at the wells fargo center. and presumptive democratic nominee hillary clinton is promised to go introduce an amendment overturning citizens united, supreme court ruling that opened the flood of corporate union spend nothing politics. clinton made the announcement in a video to political activist meeting in st. louis. muslim cleric accused of master minding friday night's coup attempt is speaking from his compound in the poconos. "eyewitness news" was only local station there. the religious scholar, is living in exile in pennsylvania as we said in the poconos area. the coup attempt was led by a facts on of, the group, and more than 250 people were killed. turkey's government has arrested or fired thousands of troops, and judges as a result, and now parts of erdogan is calling for extradition of fethullah gulen, to face outside the compound about 100 protesters, many left in turkish flags expressed their support for president erdogan and urged united states to extradite erdogan. >> hopefully we are sending back to turkey, and he will be charged in turkey. >> reporter: gulen says he has in problem with that because he will be found innocent. >> unaudible. >> that would be no problem. but they have to be able to produce credible evidence. >> reporter: secretary of state john kerry says u.s. would entertain a extradition request but that the turkish government has not made one. he said that the government we will move traffic cam here to the ben franklin parkway and that is opened for business, no events there that we know of today, and again you you can get around fine on the parkway and the art museum circle visiting art museum today and of course martin luther king drive to the lefties closed between parkway, falls bridge like it is every weekend for recreational activities. that is latest temperatures in the 70's, own their way up in the upper 80's and some spots heading in the lower 90's again today. the stretch of the 90's continue on in our forecast. that is the main head line, well bring back chance for some showers and storms which will help bring in relief to our forecast, getting tired of these 90's already, they will basically halfway through summer season. so we still have time to go. we will get a few days with the break in the heat and humidity but not going to last. showers and storms yesterday over southern new jersey now off shore. the cloud hugging the coastline of new jersey and delaware. then we are in for full sunshine across pennsylvania, ohio valley, mid-atlantic. cloud pop up to day due to the daytime heating. is there a good cluster of showers and storms, just north and west of chicago, that will be the system that impact us, later on monday night into tuesday morning. temperatures this time of the year, we're at the point where we're on average our hottest time period, 87 degrees is where we should be, well above that today. tomorrow hotter. mid 90's but humidity will not be oppressive. we are not having the excessive heat warnings or advisory in effect at this point. then we will get a drop in the temperatures from the week, wednesday into thursday. those are best days to be outside but then right back at it cranking up heat for friday into next weekend. dew point temperatures, earlier, later last week we were dealing with them in the 70's and now they are coming down a bit. still on the humid side. not unbearable. we will call it on the steamy side, tomorrow, little bit more humid and then tuesday, it starts to lessen and then pleasant on wednesday, so some good july weather coming at us for a couple days this week. and until then it will be hot one at the beach today, 88 degrees. shore points, delaware beaches, feels good. uv index running high nine out of ten. wear sun block. we will get sea breeze this afternoon as those wind switch from the south and we will have clearing going on, probably after one or 2:00 o'clock today. a few clouds pop up this afternoon. mainly dry. then tonight, month problems. tomorrow for the most part it stays dry. it is late this is the day we will start to see cloud, couple of scattered showers maybe a thunderstorm, rolls through delaware valley in the opening
