get over to matt peterson with the eyewitness weather forecast. good morning, matt, it was damp, dreary which is always nice. we are doing a turn, we will start the day off rain showers thrown in the mix here. and then we will be watching, for a better chance for rain showers later on tonight and throughout, the beginning of the workweek. so it will not be the greatest start to the workweek and there a heavy police presence as investigators continue to search for clues. this is third terror attack in just three months. here's what we know, the attack began late last night just after 10 london time a van crashed into pedestrians on that london bridge and then three men got out and started attacking restaurant goers with knives at nearby boro market. three attackers were shot dead within eight minutes of the attack, seven victims have died, at lee 48 others are hurt. some of the people in hospitals are now in critical condition, and correspondent terry okita is in london with more. >> reporter: the attack unfold ed in central london shortly after 10:00 p.m. saturday, van sped across london bridge running down pedestrians on the sidewalk. the vehicle stopped near boro market, neighborhood filled with bars, restaurants and tourist, witnesses say group of men got out and began stabbing people. >> i just saw most people runaway from the market and lying on the ground and there was a taxi driver and shouting at people to run. >> reporter: armed officers responded within minutes and shot and killed all three suspects at the scene. photo shows one lying on the ground, with canisters strapped to his belt. >> the suspect were wearing what looked like explosive vests that they later established to be a hoax. >> reporter: this morning police are continuing to comb through area for clues, this was second terrorist attack in england in less than two weeks , last month a suicide bomber killed 22 people at an ariana grande cons inert manchester. in march a similar attack on london's west minister bridge left five dead. >> recent attacks are not connected but we believe we are experiencing a new trend in the threat that we face as terrorism breed terrorism. >> reporter: in a tweet president trump offered u.s. assistance and expressed condolence to the victims in london. president trump wrote we need the travel ban, as an expert layer of london. as always we will collaborate with our local, state, and federal partners to ensure the safety of our citizens. terror attack came on the night before ariana grande is set to give a benefit concert for victims of the manchester bombing. it is still on at this hour. manchester police are stepping up security there. singer tweeted late last night , praying for london, earlier she surprised some young victims of the last month attack by visiting them in the hospital, 22 people were killed, in the manchester attack, proceed from the concert will be used to help victims. stay with way south ward and we will be seeing in the northern half of the viewing area overcast skies, through the afternoon and the rest of us will be dealing with the increasing cloud cover, throughout the day, we will see an unsettled pattern take over this weekend , area of low pressure settles itself over mid-atlantic and that will not just bring us chance for rain showers but cooler temperatures as we sit below average for first half of the workweek. temperatures right new in the too bad we are seeing 60's from philadelphia to wilmington back down toward dover, still chill any mount pocono 47 as we get into kind of that wednesday/thursday time frame as well but we will watch as a ridge of high pressure developed through the middle of the week out toward four corners region and that will slidee and it does, it will push this low, off to the north and that low has it breaks down will allow sunshine back in the mid-atlantic and delaware valley but for the most part for first half of the week our low stays put that ridge is off to the west and cool, un settled for most of us here across the region. will 2 degrees our high today, where we are seeing increasing cloud. tomorrow 79, showers, thunderstorm in the works for 71 on tuesday, so here comes our below average temperatures for tuesday and wednesday, as well as we will see a high of only 70 degrees on wednesday and showers are back in the forecast, thursday it is cool, we could look for maybe a few more showers but thursday shower chances are much lower then even tuesday or wednesday and then we are backup in the 70's >> reporter: they say they responded with about eight minutes and as these suspects were shot dead minutes later they believe all three behind this attack are dead and they are still investigate if you go others are involve. on the streets of the london today we are seeing stepped up patrols, heavily armed patrols at times and forensic experts are still at london bridge piece being together what happened, and authorities are also working with their international partner agencies , and is what being called a fast moving investigation. >> a lot still need to be done and terry, unfortunately terror attacks is not something united kingdom is faun familiar with, especially recently. people there have been extremely resilient have have you gotten a sense of what the moodies there like today? across the region, seeing temperatures in the 50's for many of us. we even see 60's out there lets see where 60's are, more mild spots and we are seeing lou's house sunshine at 60 in eagleville this morning. also seeing 64, right around cherry hill, this is in james backyard. that is sunshine out there. that is what we like to see when we are up early in the morning and like to see warmer temperatures as well. we will see later this afternoon, but we are also going to see a little bit of cloud cover mixed with sunshine later in the day as well. right now we are watching as cloud slowly
