"eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live this morning where the race should be starting any minute now, hi there, anita. >> reporter: hi there, jan. when this event kicked off more than two decade ago there were only about 800 participants, this year they are expecting more than 10,000 people and right now, you can see tons of people, getting ready to kick off this race in just a few minutes. lets get to video from just last years run, these are the statistics from the gift of life donor program. there are more than one 19,000 people currently in the united states waiting for a life saving organ transplant. about 5400 of those are right here in our region. so those are our brothers, friend, sisters. that is what organizers hope this event will raise aware ness and money for. we have spoke to janet dennis a few moments ago. heart transplant survivor, at age 50. she truly got a second chance at life. eleven years later she's not letting it go to waste. >> when i got my heart at 50 i became a athlete. i started to go to the u.s. games and world games. since then i have 40 medals, and i gave most of my medals to my donor family but you cannot see it, i have gold. my hearties the gold. >> reporter: that is gold, indeed. another live look at the tons of people getting readied for this 10k which will kick off at 7:10 just a little bit later, 5k will kick off. guess what we ran have done, for the donor dash. a friend of mine, a good friend, younger brother died in a met or cycle accident in 2010, and he donated his organs and we have been here ever since. it is great. it is woman has died of her injuries following a car crash in roxborough that involved a deer. police responded to that car crash shortly after 1:00 on ha gy mill road and campno road the car hit a deer and then who control and then smashed in the pole. a man in that car was also injured and he is now in stable condition. police are investigating this car crash in philadelphia 's east falls neighborhood that injured a 51 year-old man. it happened around 4:45 on the 3900 block of henry avenue. you can see force of that crash split that pole in two, peco is on the scene. so far there are in reports of any outages. authorities have two suspects in custody in connection with the carjacking in west philadelphia. police tell us that just after 2:00 this morning that black ford explorer, was found in the middle of the street on the 900 block of north saint bernard street, we are still awaiting more details about what happened here, in one was hurt, the investigation, continues. well, city officials are still trying to figure out what caused a vacant row home in southwest philadelphia to collapse trapping a home less man beneath ruble there. it happened here on the 6100 block of yocome street just after 2:45 yesterday morning. officials from the cities licenses and inspections department, tell us that the recent rain could have played a role in the collapse, but they say that they felt uneasy about this property long before that. >> we were actually in the process. we had bid out the property for demolition, the owner went to court and stopped demolition work. owner had until april 5th to do the work himself and in the interim the building collapsed object its own. >> the man trapped beneath debris was rescued and suffered only minor injuries and he is now recovering in carbon monoxide leak at a michigan hotel. workers at quality inn and suites called 911 saturday morning after seeing children unresponsive on the pool deck. a 13 year-old boy died, 14 other people went to local hospitals, including eight children between the age of 12 and 14. two responding officers were treated for carbon monoxide exposure as well and released. new this morning a large fire rages at a construction site near due by's largest shopping mall, the flames sent thick, gray smoke, over the bottom, and, heavily damaged on new years eve, 2014. there is no word on any, injuries restrictions on the southbound side. if you were with us yesterday you know this caused significant backup, up to 30 minutes. so if you can avoid this area of 95, that might be best this morning. if you are heading to the art museum area today ben franklin parkway is closed for a race. so you will want to avoid the area between art museum circle and arch street. your alternate is 76 through girard. taking a live lot boulevard, it is running smoothly as well as your majors, however, we have some reports of police activity that has outer drive closed in a couple of spots. so be on the look blind ness is mission of the bucks county mom who has two blind children. "eyewitness news" health reporter stephanie stahl has the story of this extraordinary family and a unique honor. >> reporter: they have learned to play air hockey not by watching the puck by listening for it. mitchell and michael smedley are blind but that does not stop these bucks county brothers from playing. >> sight is not what should hold anyone back, it is just a minor inconvenience. >> reporter: mitchell is 13, his big brother is 17. they were both born with the rare inherited eye disease called lca. >> having two blind kid was most devastating news. >> reporter: devastation turned into amazement for christine smedley as she learned how well her boys could adapt and excel. michael's an accomplished musician and involved with school productions. >> pretty humerus, sometimes, they look at me and like you are blind kid running lights. >> yeah. is that the blind kit on the catwalk to hang stuff. >> reporter: is there nothing you can't do. >> no. >> stuff they do is unbelievable. >> reporter: kristin is writing a book called thriving blind that has a big following on facebook helping other families with blind children and she started a foundation called curing retinal blind ness to raise money for research. >> this is, all of the silent auction, live auction that we are doing at cocktails for the cure. >> reporter: she's organizing a fundraiser and putting finishing touches on the presentation she has been invited to give at a, event which, highlights, innovative ideas. >> it is like that dream come true moment. >> reporter: she's exited to share her message of conquering fear and understanding that blindness can be powerful lessons that she learned from her sons. >> their brains work at a higher level then ours too. my son michael will always say you are so distract. you sighted people are so distract by all of the stuff you see, focus mom, focus. it is amazing. >> reporter: at school and regular classes they use a brail note pad and has future of college and big careers. being blind isn't much of a consideration. >> i really don't think it is that big of an issue. >> you don't feel like you have a disability. >> no, i don't. >> reporter: ted x events are selective, prestigious and popular. kristin's message will be going to a big international audience. i'm stephanie stahl, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". in the next half an hour, right here on cbs-3 "eyewitness news", uners and walkers raise money and aware ness to help save lives. we will go live to the donor dash. talk of a parking rate hike does not sit too well with people driving in philadelphia. how much more you can pay and how much more you can pay if you just don't feed the meter, justin. good morning everyone. enjoy the break, we have sunshine, milder temperatures but you'll need umbrellas. two more storm systems moving in the region this week. we will time it out in eyewitness weather. apparently, people think i'm too perky. so now i'm not being perky, telling you that drivers that switch to progressive save an average of $548! "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live in front of the art museum where race kicked off at the top of the hour, hi there, anita. >> reporter: yes, it is a chilly morning but so many warm stories to warm your heart this morning. the race, it started just a few minutes ago but i am here new with kobe minor and his grand nephew austin broccoli. toby you are a double lung transplant survivor, when did this happen and what does that mean to you. >> it was last day, last day of april, of this year will be six years ago and it was amazing actually. i tried to get in contact with the personally was fortunate to get lungs from but it made a world of the difference in me. i could not walk 30 feet without having to stop, i got tired of oxygen tanks. just an amazing program. i went to the university of penn. i had a great transplant doctor. he did an excellent job. my pulmonary person down there he got me into the program really. >> reporter: here you are six years later and without an oxygen tank and you plan to walk today. >> absolutely, i walk every day. just because i can, yep. >> reporter: amazing. here we are team toby, you have your shirts made, grand nephew here austin is also joining us what does this mean to be standing here to be standing here with toby this morning. >> it is a great honor. i think he was only guy having a rough time and whole family rally around him. great thing to do every year. we have done it every year since we started, this journey we just walk walk for him and just a great honor to be involved in this family like this. >> reporter: you divided to be an organ donor yourself. is there anything you want to tell the community about why they should think about getting involved. >> definitely get involved because it is a great thing. people every day are on lists who need these organs and it is a blessing, to come from one side, in a family that was recipient of a pair of lungs that were, you know, and those lungs are living in him and it is awesome. just a great thing to do. >> reporter: thanks very much. honor to meet you both. team toby will walk this morning. the race did just kick off. there is a kid race that will kick off shortly so we will bring you all of the latest throughout the morning, jan, so many amazing stories we are hearing this morning. it is chilly out here but just warms your heart to hear so many stories of survival. this is not about death but the gift of life, and giving that to others. for now we are live, anita oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> go team toby. you are right, so many inspiring stories, thank you. people who drive-in philadelphia are not happy about a potential parking rate hike. "eyewitness news" first told you about the plan friday night and now our own alycia nieves talked to drivers in olde city about what they are already paying to park in town >> reporter: if you thought you paid enough to park in philadelphia get ready because cities parking authority is planning to hike up the rates. >> crazy. just can't do it. >> reporter: on friday authority's board adopted a budget that assumes raised rates for parking meters and parking ticket fines. >> i think that this whole situation of parking is just keep getting worse and worse. >> reporter: alex bono works in olde city and pays $2.50 an hurry to park her car here and gotten a few tickets at $36 a pop and thinks that is just enough. >> i don't know what i will do parking garage can be just as much going to the parking garage. >> reporter: parking authority has not given a number for exactly how much the hike would be. city council will have to determine even if they approve the rates to park in philadelphia incentive for the city a raise in the parking rate is expected to generate about 10 million-dollar a year , money that would go to school districts, pension costs. but people like ines menendez believe the rate and hikes could have an opposite effect reducing revenue by deterring people from using on street parking. >> would rather pay $40 to park then take risking because you wind up with a ticket regardless. >> reporter: it is unclear when city council is expect to vote on the parking rate increase. there is a council meeting scheduled fun more but it does not appear on the agenda in lauren lipton, a great day with a lot of inspiring students, good luck to them. crews are putting final touches on the new museum of the american revolution in olde city. they have installed two bronze panels on the outside of the museum at third and chestnut. images on the 20-foot by 40- foot panels depict iconic moments from the american revolution, each weighs 1500- pound, museum opens on pennsylvania spca. i want to talk bay interesting study that came out. that is my dog marvin. i adopted him from the show, in november. marvin has had a rough life, in and out of shelters, in two different states for extended period of time. net is gray on his face. that is one of the topics, that there is a study that associates stress and anxiety in dogs, and impulse sift in dogs with a prematurely gray must will and they found dogs with fear of loud noises, wine , bark when owner is not home that they cringe or they cooer perhaps. that is anxiety. then their impulsive dogs that like to jump on people. marvin would like to greet by jumping on people. maybe they tug on a leash, that is impulse abe all of that has been significantly associated with an increased amount and early timing of a gray musell. watch for that. if you're finding your young pets are turning gray early between age of two and four, that is the time, that you go, any what, maybe i need to change the way before it all happened. >> today is sunday, it is april 2nd, good morning, i'm jan carabao. it is pick of the week with weather so lets get over to meteorologist justin drabick with the forecast, good sunday morning, justin. this is one of the two days, glorious this week. >> one is coming on the weekend, we can salvage that. yesterday was not that bad, glummy, but sunshine, cool, and today will be great, just typical early springtime weather which we're waiting for, the past few days, once we got rid of the storm system get outside, enjoy it. sunshine is upright now and skies are clear and sun will get to work rapidly this morning. chilly still at 41, it has dropped over the pennsylvania hour. northwest wind at 12. it feels like 34. battling a wind chill this morning in some spots, even down in the 20's in some locations. air temperatures ranging in the 30's to lower 40's. forty's the average low for this time of the year. so we're there. this is nothing terribly cold for this time of the year. thirty-six in quakertown. wind chills are really starting to feel like on exposed skin, still 29 in the millville, 32 atlantic city, mid 30's in philadelphia and suburbs. the storm scan three looks good, mostly clear skies, a few fair weather cloud today but overall just a gorgeous day with high pressure in control. yeah, i think we have to call it practically perfect today, i haven't used this in a long time. temperatures mild, low humidity, light wind, good day to get outside, traveling, in travel problems, out there, at lee weather-wise on the road. sixty-two for the high in philadelphia. fifty-three at the shore. near 50 in the poconos. we will warm it up this week but there will be two round of rain, so keep that umbrella around. we will legality you know in eyewitness weather. back over to you. breaking news this morning , a deadly shooting has a section of the roosevelt boulevard, shut down, as police investigate. it happened just before 6:00 near, somerdale avenue, in lawncrest. a man was shot inside his car while driving and then crossed several lanes of the boulevard before crashing into a fence on the other side. police say a cadillac was seen driving away from the scene. northbound outer lanes at the boulevard at adams avenue remain closed this morning, so far, no arrests. well to day's weather is looking good for this years donor dash. thousands are expected to take part and take to the streets in honor of the hundreds of thousands waiting for organ transplants. "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live this morning where the race should be starting any minute now, hi there, anita. >> reporter: hi there, jan. when this event kicked off more than two decade ago there were only about 800 participants, this year they are expecting more than 10,000 people and right now, you can see tons of people, getting ready to kick off this race in just a few minutes. lets get to video from just last years run, these are the statistics from the gift of life donor program. there are more than one 19,000 people currently in the united states waiting for a life saving organ transplant. about 5400 of those are right here in our region. so those are our brothers, friend, sisters. that is what organizers hope this event will raise aware ness and money for. we have spoke to janet dennis a few moments ago. heart transplant survivor, at age 50. she truly got a second chance at life. eleven years later she's not letting it go to waste. >> when i got my heart at 50 i became a athlete. i started to go to the u.s. games and world games. since then i have 40 medals, and i gave most of my medals to my donor family but you cannot see it, i have gold. my hearties the gold. >> reporter: that is gold, indeed. another live look at the tons of people getting readied for this 10k which will kick off at 7:10 just a little bit later, 5k will kick off. guess what we ran have done, for the donor dash. a friend of mine, a good friend, younger brother died in a met or cycle accident in 2010, and he donated his organs and we have been here ever since. it is great. it is woman has died of her injuries following a car crash in roxborough that involved a deer. police responded to that car crash shortly after 1:00 on ha gy mill road and campno road the car hit a deer and then who control and then smashed in the pole. a man in that car was also injured and he is now in stable condition. police are investigating this car crash in philadelphia 's east falls neighborhood that injured a 51 year-old man. it happened around 4:45 on the 3900 block of henry avenue. you can see force of that crash split that pole in two, peco is on the scene. so far there are in reports of any outages. authorities have two suspects in custody in connection with the carjacking in west philadelphia. police tell us that just after 2:00 this morning that black ford explorer, was found in the middle of the street on the 900 block of north saint bernard street, we are still awaiting more details about what happened here, in one was hurt, the investigation, continues. well, city officials are still trying to figure out what caused a vacant row home in southwest philadelphia to collapse trapping a home less man beneath ruble there. it happened here on the 6100 block of yocome street just after 2:45 yesterday morning. officials from the cities licenses and inspections department, tell us that the recent rain could have played a role in the collapse, but they say that they felt uneasy about this property long before that. >> we were actually in the process. we had bid out the property for demolition, the owner went to court and stopped demolition work. owner had until april 5th to do the work himself and in the interim the building collapsed object its own. >> the man trapped beneath debris was rescued and suffered only minor injuries and he is now recovering in not far from the site of the sky scraper fire just a couple years ago. find out what building experts believe caused these fires. no pooling around, nature pulls a prank as season change but some like rise as more bodies are believed to be buried underneath all that mud. doctors say local medical centers are running out of blood as they treat 300 injured. government has called up over 1100 soldiers and police to help dig through hundred tane of mud to find survivors. hanna daniels for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". investigators say a malfunctioningsing vent pipe from a pool heater caused a deadly carbon monoxide leak at a michigan hotel. workers at quality inn and suites called 911 saturday morning after seeing children unresponsive on the pool deck. a 13 year-old boy died, 14 other people went to local hospitals, including eight children between the age of 12 and 14. two responding officers were treated for carbon monoxide exposure as well and released. new this morning a large fire rages at a construction site near due by's largest shopping mall, the flames sent thick, gray smoke, over the bottom, and, heavily damaged on new years eve, 2014. there is no word on any, injuries this morning, dramatic fires has hit sky scrapers in recent years, building experts say a popular type of, covering on the buildings can be highly flammable. man suspect at starting a fire that collapsed part of the i-95 in atlanta is facing arson charges. a judge set bail at $200,000, for basil elerbee, police arrested him and two others after thursday's fire. prosecutors believe he set the girard. taking a live lot boulevard, it is running smoothly as well as your majors, however, we have some reports of police activity that has outer drive closed in a couple of spots. so be on the look "eyewitness news" health reporter stephanie stahl has the story of this extraordinary family and a unique honor. >> reporter: they have learned to play air hockey not by watching the puck by listening for it. mitchell and michael smedley are blind but that does not stop these bucks county brothers from playing. >> sight is not what should hold anyone back, it is just a minor inconvenience. >> reporter: mitchell is 13, his big brother is 17. they were both born with the rare inherited eye disease called lca. >> having two blind kid was most devastating news. >> reporter: devastation turned into amazement for christine smedley as she learned how well her boys could adapt and excel. michael's an accomplished musician and involved with school productions. >> pretty humerus, sometimes, they look at me and like you are blind kid running lights. >> yeah. is that the blind kit on the catwalk to hang stuff. >> reporter: is there nothing you can't do. >> no. >> stuff they do is unbelievable. >> reporter: kristin is writing a book called thriving blind that has a big following on facebook helping other families with blind children and she started a foundation called curing retinal blind ness to raise money for research. >> this is, all of the silent auction, live auction that we are doing at cocktails for the cure. >> reporter: she's organizing a fundraiser and putting finishing touches on the presentation she has been invited to give at a, event which, highlights, innovative ideas. >> it is like that dream come true moment. >> reporter: she's exited to share her message of conquering fear and understanding that blindness can be powerful lessons that she learned from her sons. >> their brains work at a higher level then ours too. my son michael will always say you are so distract. you sighted people are so distract by all of the stuff you see, focus mom, focus. it is amazing. >> reporter: at school and regular classes they use a brail note pad and has future of college and big careers. being blind isn't much of a consideration. >> i really don't think it is that big of an issue. >> you don't feel like you have a disability. >> no, i don't. >> reporter: ted x events are selective, prestigious and popular. kristin's message will be going to a big international audience. i'm stephanie stahl, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". in the next half an hour, right here on cbs-3 "eyewitness news", uners and walkers raise money and aware ness to help save lives. we will go live to the donor dash. talk of a parking rate hike does not sit too well with people driving in philadelphia. how much more you can pay and how much more you can pay if you just don't feed the meter, justin. good morning everyone. enjoy the break, we have sunshine, milder temperatures but you'll need umbrellas. two more storm systems moving in the region this week. we will time it out in eyewitness weather. apparently, people think i'm too perky. so now i'm not being perky, telling you that drivers that switch to progressive save an average of $548! whoo! i mean, whoo. it is sunday april 2nd, good morning everyone i'm jan carabao. we are expecting a picture perfect day to day. meteorologist justin drabick is live on the cbs-3 sky deck with eyewitness weather and clear blue skies, justin, hooray. >> finally it has been a while we have storm system out, cloud gone, sun's up but chilly now but we will warm things up through the morning and afternoon. just a typical early april day across the delaware valley. seasonal temperatures. we are chilly right now 40 degrees in wilmington. forty-one in philadelphia still lower 30's in the mountains, suburbs hanging out in the mid 30's, and there is a bit of the breeze to bring wind chills down in the 20's in some spots. with those wind as direction coming out of the northwest at 10 to 15 miles an hour at times this morning but much lighter then yesterday morning , wind chills ranging from 21 in mount pocono, still 29 what it feels like on exposed skin in millville, new jersey, 35 through wind chill in dover delaware. but storm scan three nice and quiet, we are in between two storm system. friday's storm slowly moving out across canadian mar times and our next system developing over the deep south. that will bring rain back in the picture, late monday and tuesday. we have a bit of break. enjoy today. perfect early spring day, sunny, light wind, seasonal temperatures, highs in the 50 's and 60's. we will break it down through the region. sixty-two for philadelphia that is a few degrees above average. lower 50's at the shore. mostly sunny skies. a few more cloud in the poconos but still in good shape with a high of 50. we have 60's even 70 degrees coming up in the seven day but couple round of rain we will time it out in eyewitness weather in a few more minutes, jan, back to you. great weather as thousands have laced up their shoes for this years donor dash, a race to bring awareness to the hundreds of thousands waiting for organ transplants. "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live in front of the art museum where race kicked off at the top of the hour, hi there, anita. >> reporter: yes, it is a chilly morning but so many warm stories to warm your heart this morning. the race, it started just a few minutes ago but i am here new with kobe minor and his grand nephew austin broccoli. toby you are a double lung transplant survivor, when did this happen and what does that mean to you. >> it was last day, last day of april, of this year will be six years ago and it was amazing actually. i tried to get in contact with the personally was fortunate to get lungs from but it made a world of the difference in me. i could not walk 30 feet without having to stop, i got tired of oxygen tanks. just an amazing program. i went to the university of penn. i had a great transplant doctor. he did an excellent job. my pulmonary person down there he got me into the program really. >> reporter: here you are six years later and without an oxygen tank and you plan to walk today. >> absolutely, i walk every day. just because i can, yep. >> reporter: amazing. here we are team toby, you have your shirts made, grand nephew here austin is also joining us what does this mean to be standing here to be standing here with toby this morning. >> it is a great honor. i think he was only guy having a rough time and whole family rally around him. great thing to do every year. we have done it every year since we started, this journey we just walk walk for him and just a great honor to be involved in this family like this. >> reporter: you divided to be an organ donor yourself. is there anything you want to tell the community about why they should think about getting involved. >> definitely get involved because it is a great thing. people every day are on lists who need these organs and it is a blessing, to come from one side, in a family that was recipient of a pair of lungs that were, you know, and those lungs are living in him and it is awesome. just a great thing to do. >> reporter: thanks very much. honor to meet you both. team toby will walk this morning. the race did just kick off. there is a kid race that will kick off shortly so we will bring you all of the latest throughout the morning, jan, so many amazing stories we are hearing this morning. it is chilly out here but just warms your heart to hear so many stories of survival. this is not about death but the gift of life, and giving that to others. for now we are live, anita oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> go team toby. you are right, so many inspiring stories, thank you. people who drive-in philadelphia are not happy about a potential parking rate hike. "eyewitness news" first told you about the plan friday night and now our own alycia nieves talked to drivers in olde city about what they are already paying to park in town >> reporter: if you thought you paid enough to park in philadelphia get ready because cities parking authority is planning to hike up the rates. >> crazy. just can't do it. >> reporter: on friday authority's board adopted a budget that assumes raised rates for parking meters and parking ticket fines. >> i think that this whole situation of parking is just keep getting worse and worse. >> reporter: alex bono works in olde city and pays $2.50 an hurry to park her car here and gotten a few tickets at $36 a pop and thinks that is just enough. >> i don't know what i will do parking garage can be just as much going to the parking garage. >> reporter: parking authority has not given a number for exactly how much the hike would be. city council will have to determine even if they approve the rates to park in philadelphia incentive for the city a raise in the parking rate is expected to generate about 10 million-dollar a year , money that would go to school districts, pension costs. but people like ines menendez believe the rate and hikes could have an opposite effect reducing revenue by deterring people from using on street parking. >> would rather pay $40 to park then take risking because you wind up with a ticket regardless. >> reporter: it is unclear when city council is expect to vote on the parking rate increase. there is a council meeting scheduled fun more but it does not appear on the agenda in lauren lipton, a great day with a lot of inspiring students, good luck to them. crews are putting final touches on the new museum of the american revolution in olde city. they have installed two bronze panels on the outside of the museum at third and chestnut. images on the 20-foot by 40- foot panels depict iconic moments from the american revolution, each weighs 1500- pound, museum opens on the 60's, maybe one day in the 70's for some spots. high pressure over mid-atlantic, north east blocking storms, we are in between two systems. snow we see over northeastern maine that is friday's storm for thaws brought rain, slowly moving out of here. next storm developing bringing moisture in the central u.s. that will track east, monday and tuesday, next shot, for steady rain. high pressure over us today not much happening a few fair weather cloud, tomorrow still good, so, okay start to the workweek. we will start off with some sun, cloud thicken up through the day. rain comes in late monday night into tuesday, and there could be pockets of heavier rain but these are different from friday this brings warmer air. we will make a run at 70 on tuesday with a threat for some rain. decent rain amounts, generally half inch or so, maybe more than that, possibly over an inch in the areas indicated by purple. thinks a model forecast so this will likely change. there called company be steady rain tuesday morning, impacting the morning commute. highs today, finally getting back in the 60's, a few degrees above average in the lehigh valley, letter 50's in the poconos. tonight not quite as cold, mid to upper 40's for most spots, colder in the suburbs, and tomorrow, probably a few degrees warmer then today, mid 60's even with some cloud rolling in. overall jet stream pattern pretty much stays ago i have. you can see flow in the wind around jet stream and bump in the jet developing over central u.s. that moves east, allowing warmer air to surge northward but storm systems riding in that jet stream. one comes through monday night , tuesday, we will have a ridge over us wednesday, it is another good day, and, mild, here comes another storm but this is a colder pocket of pennsylvania spca. i want to talk bay interesting study that came out. that is my dog marvin. i adopted him from the show, in november. marvin has had a rough life, in and out of shelters, in two different states for extended period of time. net is gray on his face. that is one of the topics, that there is a study that associates stress and anxiety in dogs, and impulse sift in dogs with a prematurely gray must will and they found dogs with fear of loud noises, wine , bark when owner is not home that they cringe or they cooer perhaps. that is anxiety. then their impulsive dogs that like to jump on people. marvin would like to greet by jumping on people. maybe they tug on a leash, that is impulse abe all of that has been significantly associated with an increased amount and early timing of a gray musell. watch for that. if you're finding your young pets are turning gray early between age of two and four, that is the time, that you go, any what, maybe i need to change the way i'm doing things. perhaps i get a pet sitter so doggies not stressed out, thunder shirt for loud noises. look at the correlation. >> two and four is too early. >> yes. >> there can be other reasons too, maybe they just have a genetic predisposition but they did find a significant increase in dogs that are anxious and stressed and gray, >> maybe you will get a gray one. >> not yet. >> not visiting us. >> other thing i want to talk about and thinks very important for people with dog parks and get to dog parks or go out in the wood there has been a increase, a ton of rain , well, guess who runs through the puddles? rats, squirrels, and, any urine in there can cause a problem, in your pets. that is a bacterial infection. it can easily be cured, by not even getting it started by having a vaccine thaw can get from your veterinarian. also don't let your dogs drink out of they are standing puddles because you don't necessity if there is a problem in there. there has been three dogs in north jersey that have died from this bacteria. >> no kidding, wow it seems earlier because of the milder winter and that possibly puts people out with their dogs walking in these dog parks. watch out for these puddles for possibility. ask your vet. check your dog's lifestyle. if you are in dog parks letting him have water out of the puddle. you won't to have give him a bat when they come home all muddy. >> that is right. >> they love to splash. you can do that then it is eye good idea to get that vaccine, and it is a yearly thing. i want to show you a couple of cats that we have got for adoption. >> yeah. >> hey, jude, do you want to sing it. one year-old black and white, short haired cat, friendly, social. doesn't like being picked up but isn't crazy about kid, you know, lot of people feel that way. but, he is due just great in anybody's home. report inn ace seven year-old white cat, very friendly, social but she does not like to be picked up. instead let her warm up to you when she can. we have a success story here bell a four-year old australian shepherd mix came in through cruelty case load, but she was adopted, and i would also like to point out that her medical care because she needed somewhats provided through the penn vet and the richard lick ter program, a very generous man that pull dogs with solvable medical problems and they are able to get them adopted and they fix the problems which is wonderful this one is crying for attention. >> this one is crying for attention but he also loves woman brought him here, jillian from the pennsylvania spca so he wants to see her. he is looking for her. he is also looking for a good home. he will bond request you. he is a wonderful dog. he has spent sometime at pennsylvania spca. he came in through a cruelty case, and, he is up in office and they believe he is probably house broken. he hasn't had any problems there. he have is a big, and wonderful, wonderful dog and will be, just happy to be in anybody's yard who can take them around, run around with them and, he is a dog that i would be watching for, possibly the pre mature gray ing of the nose. we see anxiety, whining and that lead us back to our topic >> so sweet. >> he is an absolute angel. >> he is wonderful. just some things to think about out with your pets. if you find your dog getting a little bye gray and think maybe i am changing up how i am handling my dog, maybe i need to be more calm with them and just watch out for those standing puddles. >> absolutely, keep them healthy. you can adopt any pet by visiting p spca erie avenue
