Reporter true tragedy Riverside Sheriffs Department tweeted this a couple hours ago that the suspect has been taken in custody. They have given very little details. Suspect is accused of killing two officers, six threeyear old Jose Gill Vega and 27 yearold leslie zereby leaving the Palm Springs Community in mourning. Police and Community Members gathered saturday night outside of the palm springs desert Regional Medical center. Where officers, leslie zereby and Jose Gilbert Vega died of their wounds. The officers coffin were wheeled out of the hospital and gently lifted in to white hearsts, a third officer remained in the hospital. Being treated for gunshot wounds. Police chief brian reyes says that the three officers were shot while answering a call from a woman who said that her adult son was causing a disturbance. The chief says that officers were at the front door of the home, negotiating with the suspect, when he decided to open up fire. Two of the officers, were killed, and six threeyear old Jose Gill Vega, a father of eight was a 35 year veteran of the police department, he was scheduled to retire in december, and 27 yearold leslie zereby had been on the force 18 months and recently returned from maternity leave. This Morning Police are investigating a shooting in north Philadelphia Police tell us the man was shot the in the the shoulder, it happened around 1 30 in the 2600 block of North Franklin street. The man is in stable condition no details on a shooter at this time. Now were getting hard hit areas in parts of the southern, delaware, parts of the central maryland and Del Marva Peninsula four to 5 inches have rain falling from the cold front, and the remnants of the matthew. You also have leaves that have fallen on the highways as well. So they will get little icy patches, when the leaves start to fall on the highway so again just take your time, you have to put up with reduced visibility on a morning like this. So, be aware of that, and keep a safe distance between you and the other driver. This is i95 at walt whitman bridge. Walt whitman on ramp of course to the left of your screen. I95 looks all right despite the rain. You can see folks taking their time and they are being careful on the highways for the most part. We dont have any accidents on i95 thankfully.
