no problems at the moment. couple of high clouds have work their way through southeastern pa for the most part nice clear sky and mild. look at these temperatures. we were flirting with 60 already here in reading. in philly, 54, the current temperature, hovering between 53, 54 degrees, 52, but now, we are just shy of when the sun will be coming up, and with time of course these temperatures will begin to rebound. and rebound they will. take a look. even by lunchtime, already flirting with 70. we should have no problems hitting 72 degrees, this afternoon, with some sunshine. and to be perfectly frank, there is a chance that i may even have to up that daytime high. see how we do here, looking at the area headlines for the seven day, we mention this a moment ago. potent frontal boundary expected to rumble saturday. i'll time it out little later in the show t does yield to much cooler weather on sunday, and then we've got another storm system next week, so the pattern does remain pretty active, meisha? >> katie, thank you. we are loving these seven's, and take a look at this gorgeous shot, schuylkill eastbound at spring garden, just still dark outside, you can see the colors of the browns, the lights, the blues, absolutely stunning pictures, making your way eastbound into center city there. so good morning, and tgif to you. ben franklin bridge, looking good as well. push in the westbound direction, center city, you can see, starting to heat up just ever so slightly. but for a friday i have to tell this is actually heating upment just now cracking the 6:00 hour. and the ben franklin bridge, one of those areas that we typically see doesn't heat up until much later, especially on a friday. so, you know, some of your neighbors jumping out there early. boulevard same story here pushing in the southbound direction, once you jump on to the schuylkill westbound at the boulevard then pushing onto city avenue it is looking a lot like. >> this so again the boulevard starting to heat up as well. any of the areas i would say, probably, lever little not earlier this morning, but certainly leave when you normally o don't wait out there. because it is heating up ever so slightly. accident i was talking about in king of prussia. route 23, river road, third street, intersection block. you can see, green moving all over the place here. still traveling at posted speeds, so just heads up. talking about some new schedules in the worlds of septa coming up in the next ten to 15 minutes. >> updating breaking news this morning, flames race through south jersey hotel, leaving guests dangling from windows. >> "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live at the ramada inn in vineland, you have an update from the fire chief. what's he saying? >> reporter: rahel, jim, good morning there is was a dramatic fire fight. fire crews arrived here on the scene just after 2:00 this morning. they saw heavy smoke and flames shooting from a second floor room. they also saw a couple of guests dangling from a window, so they sprang into action. they made the rescue, and then they made their way through the build to go make sure all of the guests had gotten out safely. you can see live on the scene here this morning, fire crews remain on the scene. they're making sure none every these hot spots spark back up. they're also conducting the cause investigation. you're also take ac look at viewer video on your screen right now, the dramatic scene, that fire crews arrived to overnight. this was big fire. it made its way to two alarm, and two people were hurt. now, one of the people hurt was a woman who was staying in the room where the fire started. she got out of her room on her own and south ems. she is being treated at crozer right now, after suffering burns, and smoke inhalation. the other person injured was a police officer. that officer suffered some smoke inhalation after getting people out of the building. now the fire started here, around 2:00 this morning at the ramada inn2200 block every west landsis road. we're told there are more than 30 rooms inside this two story building. fortunately everyone is accounted for this morning. but it was no easy fire fight. take a listen. >> they were able to initially contain the fire to the hallway and the fire unit. then we had fire extend into the attic space. and it basically running from the rear of the building up to the fire wall about six unit up. we were able to contain it in the attic space above those six units. >> certainly more people could have been hurt. fortunately, no one was killed. you can see, just how much damage this fire did here overnight. the people who were staying here at the ramada inn now at neighboring hotels. in the meantime, firefighters do remain on the scene, again, they are looking for a cause. at this point, they can't say what caused this fire. we did speak to a resident who lives here, who said that there are number of smoking rooms on the back side of this building near where the fire started. the fire chief could not comment on that. the chief is also looking into whether the fire alarms were sounding inside of the building. but he does tell us that fire crews were dispatched to this location because of an activated fire alarm. we will keep you it up dayton the situation. for now, live in vineland, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," rahel, jim, back to you. >> thank you. update on hit-and-run that left a man fighting for his life in kensington. >> overnight police found the car they think was involved. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do is live at the police accident and investigation division. so trang it, looks like they found the car. but any word on the driver of that car? >> rahel, jim, no sign of the driver just yet. but again, police did locate that car overnight. abandoned on the 300 block of martha street port richmond. investigators are now processing the car for evidence that will hopefully lead them to this driver take a look at the video from the scene in kensington there is accident happened just before 7:30 near em rand and clearfield streets. man lying unconscious in the street with severe head trauma and two broken legs, police say the man was crossing clearfield, after leaving a corner store. he was only feet away from his front door, when he was struck by this car. now, the force of the man's body cracked the windshield. he was launched into the air. but that driver just kept going. neighbors meanwhile are distraut. >> he said to be real nice guy who when the weather gets nice, he sits outside, and he cooks for the people of the neighborhood. so a lot of the neighbors are really upset to hear that this 43 year old victim was hit by the car and he's in such bad shape. >> there were several witnesses to this accident and police were able to obtain surveillance video of the entire thing, from a corner store near where the accident happened. meanwhile the for that report. >> and new this morning, police in chester are searching for a suspect after a man is shot and killed in front every his girlfriend. police say the victim was picking up his girlfriend at her house, here on the 2600 block every boil street, just after 10:30 last night. well when she stemmed outside to see her boyfriends being robbed, she then witnessed the suspect shoot him in the head. that suspect then ran off. >> meanwhile, in montgomery county, former police officer is facing a slew of charges after a road rage incident. now, this happened saturday night on the 1900 block of second street in upper gwenned. that's where police seo end farmer fired three shots into a bmw, after a stepdaughter allegedly had altercation with someone in the car. inside the bmw was a mother, father, and their 15 year old daughter, one of those shot injured the 15 year old. farmer is charged with assault and wreckless endangerment. he was a member of the again he had, upper gwenned police department from 2,000 through 2009. >> attempted sexual assault at brandywine park. woman out for a run when attacked at 73:00, pushed to the grounds by a man, but was able to fight off the attacker. suspect ran from the scene. fortunately the woman was not seriously hurt. >> and, in gloucester township police there release sketch of man wanted for attempted kidnapping. accused of trying to pull a woman into his suv on may apple road monday night when she screamed he let her go. officers think he's driving possibly a new model white suv possibly a bmwx1 or x3. well, the suspect in a shooting of 2dc police officers has died after also being shot. both officers in washington dc are in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. the shooting happened before 11:00 last night, where the officers were patrolling in the city's northeast section. city councilman is calling for more solutions to the city's gun violence. >> no community should have to live like this. this gun violence, it is a scourage on our city. my thoughts are with the officer. we need to put in place solutions to stop it violence. it is just unacceptable. >> now the shooting comes hours after four men were shot in three separate shootings, in southeast dc. the new jersey pinelands commission will vote this morning on controversial natural gas pipeline proposal. the proposal by south jersey industries calls for 22-mile natural gas pipeline. commercial township to the bl glands power plant in beastly point. now part of the plan to convert the plant from oil and coal to cleaner burning natural gas. group siting environmental concerns have been fighting the pipeline for years, but it does however have the support of governor christie and zombies groups. >> well up next in the health south to southwest wind flow. it is very light wind. it hasn't been enough light wind to allow too much fog to form. i really haven't seen much in the field cameras. let alone the visibility readings. that's good. but we are expecting to even, look at this, in the poconos, flirt with 70. february 24th, guys, that's what it says on the calendar, it is just unbelievable the kind of warmth we're expecting here today. flirting with 70 at the shore. low 70s expected in the city. it is just going to be a very, very warm day. and with partly to mostly sunny skies all day, talk about great excuse to get outside and maybe if you're lucky enough to have some time off this afternoon, get out of work little extra early, why not? good excuse to dine alfresco at lunchtime, too. >> that sounds like good idea to me, thank you so much, katie. good morning, everyone, i have to say for friday morning, for beautiful weather out there, nice driving conditions, we have had a busy morning in the world of travel. so, right now, what we are being looking at, disable vehicle, 309 north near the turnpike pulled off to the shoulder. this is one of those things that i'm not actually too concerned with at all. in fact, you can see on 309, moving in the north or southbound direction, you're looking just fine, just want to bring it to your attention, also another disable vehicle we were seeing in this camera, 422 eastbound before trooper, that doesn't look like you can see it, but i will say that as we push in the eastbound direction, on 422, starting to tap the brakes, going less than posted speeds, just heads up for that disable vehicle out there as well. then we also have an accident here in king of prussia. this is going to start slowing you down right about now. route 23, river road, third street. that intersection is blocked for those every in you that neck of the woods. and then we have another accident, out there, as well, conshohocken. maple street at west bound street. i think with the string of activity that we're seeing right now, and i can't really tell you why, our driving conditions are looking really good. i would just say pack those sunglasses, maybe leave your homes little early, then we also have some changes in the world of septa that i will be talking about coming up in the next ten minutes. jim, over to you. >> thank you, meisha. updating breaking news, massive fire engulfs a hotel in vineland as firefighters work tirelessly overnight to conquer the flames. >> "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo is live at the ramada inn, where the firefighters had to rescue people hanging from windows? good morning. >> reporter: rahel, jim, good morning, this was most certainly a dramatic fire fight here in vineland overnight. you mentioned firefighters had to rescue guests here. they also arrived to heavy smoke and flame at the end of it all two people had to be taken to the hospital. one of those people was a police officer, who was going door-to-door inside to make sure everyone got out safely. the officer suffered smoke inhalation, the other person injured, a woman actually inside of the room where this fire started. she was able to get herself out this morning, and find a mess, but not before she suffered smoke inhalation, and burns, she was taken to crozer for treatment this morning. you can see, liver here on the scene, that firefighters remain here, keeping an eye out on those hot spots. still, dousing this building with water this morning. they're also conducting the cause investigation. but i just spoke to the fire chief. and he says it is still too early to determine a cause. this was a very big fire. this was a two alarm err, when firefighters arrived here, to the ramada inn on 29200 block every west landsis avenue in vineland, they saw heavy flames, smoke, they new there were people in here that had to get out. but before that, they actually arrived to a couple of people dangling out of the second floor window. take a listen. >> they were hanging out the window, throwing their belongings out the window, our initial arriving crews through ground ladders to the second floor window and helped, helped them over, and down to the ground. >> went to the store about 20 minute, came back, and there is just flames coming from this the top. right bop our room. whole room gone, everything burnt, everything i own is in there. >> chopper three live over the scene. you can see how much damage is done. now that we have a little bit more light in this area. this is the back side of the ramada inn where you can see this hotel has dozens every rooms, and lot of them now are completely damaged. and destroyed. so what's happening here, you can see firefighters still dousing this bill, still too early to say what caused this fire. one of the guests i spoke to said that the back side of this building had a lot of smoking rooms. the fire chief could not make a comment on that. he's also looking into whether the fire alarms were sounding inside of the building. there is a bit of confusion there, because some of the guests we spoke to say they didn't wake to up hearing fire alarms. they woke to up police officers, and firefighters, banking on their doors. however, the fire chief does say that they were first dispatched to this scene after a notification of an active fire alarm. so, we have to sort that out. but the good news here this morning, that no one was killed in this huge fire. two people, how much, taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation, one woman was burned. rahel, jim, back into you. >> jan, thank you. >> progress is made overnight in a hit-and-run case in kensington, "eyewitness news" has learned that police have found this car suspected of being involved. however, they're still looking for the driver. this all happened here on the 2,000 block of east clearfield street around 7:30 last night. the victim walked out after corner store when he was hit, just feet from his front door. he said to be in critical condition. this morning, president trump will speak at the annual conservative political action conference, also known as c pack, gathering of the conservative republicans. mike pence spoke last night, urged to take advantage of what they say could be once in a lifetime opportunity to help the president push his conservative agenda forward. meantime, white house receiving push-back after reversing policy meant to protect transgender student. celebrities like caitlin jenner already publicized and publicly criticized the move. cbs news reporter hena daniels, learned how lgbtq add vaux cats are now responding to the news. >> reporter: standing in the shadow of the iconic stone wall inn, site of the 1969 riots that launched the gay rights movement example, delores down in delaware where it is 42, but solid 10 degrees miler than in wilmington. where lisa is reporting more than anything just sunny skies, 52 degrees, her comment: comfortable, phil this morning, beautiful shot for us on nice clear friday morning. let's take a look though back at the graphics here. and yesterday was a record challenging day. it ended up actually being record breaking day forehand full of spots. mount pocono, seeded old records by three solid degrees. single degree for wilmington, allentown, all spots landing low to mid 70s, just unbelievable. now you can see some signs of life here, thunderstorms even just down wind every lake ontario right now. this is a sign next storm system starting to get its act together. this will bypass energy off to the gaper delay. not only are you going to get gaper delay on this side northbound side but also take a look what's happening right here. also going to start getting gaper delay moving in the southbound direction, this will start to slow you down. northbound, southbound side as womenment yikes. looks like the fire is still going right nowment you can see the drivers of the vehicles outside walking around. you can see the ambulance on site right there. we have more vehicles coming. so, this is going to, like i said, pose some problems for you. heads up on that if you can avoid this area at all
