Preliminary figures show it is 48 percent effective, and it is considered a good year when flu shots are 50 to 60 percent effective. But still flu season and important to protect yourself, getting flu shot is best way to protect yourself. Reporter doctors say, it is not too late to get a flu shot. It takes about two weeks for the vaccine to kick in, which would be, just in time for the peak of the flu season, and which is expected in late february, early march and really important, and elderly and young people.
