There will be two separate runs happening, and then in total there is 13 miler as well, you can see that there are multiple people, who are here, there is a big crowd of volunteers also seeing some runners, couple of people also dressed up as rocky, and there is a costume contest, as well. But, they were joined by Michael Sullivan who is running this race, hes from lancaster, he has very inspiring story. Michael, tell us what inspired you to run this race today . I got bit by a spider and contracted mersa, and doctors were talking about me losing my leg, i swore if i could keep my leg i would do a Half Marathon and rocky balboa run was it, thats the one i chose. Youre a big fan of rocky . Love rocky. Tell us the emotion going through your minds when were you in the hospital bed . I was very upset, worried that i would lose my leg, how i was going to take care of my family. Then like i said i just kept praying that if i keep my leg, this Half Marathon was something i wanted to do for myself. I chose the rocky balboa run. Reporter what kinds of training has gone into preparing for this day . A lot of good dieting, and a lot of miles on my legs and trying to rehab my legs, my knee, back into good health. Reporter how are you feeling this morning, the weather is a little chilly out there, but how are you feeling today about it . Ready to run, ready to go, ready to do this Half Marathon. Veterans young and old alike, including those from world war ii, and a member of the toss keying pierre men were in attendance, local marching bands, local student, former military members. The parade considered the largest veterans parade in the area. More than 300 veterans were also recognized at the Valley Middle School in horsham. The student served breakfast to active duty and retired veterans in honor of veterans day. On the cbs3 health watch now, special ipad game can be effective way to treat common visual impairment in children. Health reporter Stephanie Stahl has the results from the latest stud. I one of the most common causes of visual impairment in children, affecting three5 of kids in the u. S. Not only has deficit in vision, but causes deficits in depth perception, reading and fine motor skills. The standard treatment involves patching the opposite eye to force the lazy eye to work hard earl, new Research Shows ipad game might be better if played with special glasses, that sends images to the stronger eye, and low contrast pictures to the weaker eye. In order to play the game, the child has to work the weaker eye as well as work both eyes together. We found that at the two week visit children who had the ipad game improved vision much more than children who passed both groups improved of two lines every vision on the letter chart. And about 40 of the children recovered normal vision. Researchers say the new game is a promising edition to existing treatment for lazy eye. Hoping more games, tv shows, movies, can be used as treatment in the future. The condition is difficult to diagnosis.
