Early Tuesday Morning by an unknown arsonist. At first i was really angry. And then i got really sad because i have a child. I have a dog. Two people aboard were taken to the hospital. This all unfolded in the 500 block of east linden avenue, Eyewitness News reporter david spunt is live at that scene tonight, david . Reporter hi there nicole. Quite a scene. It has become a spectacle in this lindenwald neighborhood. I want to back out of the way and give you a live picture. You can see the plane is split in two. It will remain here for next several hours. Faa is investigating and they will investigate a little while. Nicole, i just spoke to the owner of the plane living in maryland. He tells he he rented the plane out for the day. Neighbors on linden avenue ran to the scene after hearing about a plane crash in the backyard. No one was home at the time. It makes your heart race, makes you nervous, you know, and anxious, but knowing that everybody was safe and okay made he feel better. Reporter sherry wolf grabbed her daughter by the hand to see what happened. According to authorities plane crashed at 1 00 across from the local fire department. You get crazy things that happen, but, you know, obviously you dont see too many airplanes, trying to ditch in the residential area right here. When you look at the wreckage we thought the two guys, were completely deceased, but im glad they made it out okay. Reporter two men were rushed to cooper hospital by helicopter. Were fortunate in the fact that it didnt strike any house, it looks like it came between, you know, about four homes, kind of a diagnal, struck trees and ended up on the ground. Unionized faculty members at four state universities in pennsylvania are manning picket lines tonight, five of those schools are in our area. And now many classes at the schools, serving more than 100,000 students are grinding to a halt. Eyewitness News Reporter joe holden spent the day at West Chester University, one of the local schools impacted. Reporter good evening to you. Union says this is unchartered territory, never before have have professors walked out of the classroom but in the end, many observers will say it is the students who stand to lose the most. What do we want. Fair contract. When do we want it. Now. Reporter while many students have their professors back some really want to know how did it get this far. It is annoying that they cannot figure out anything because they have had so much time do it. Reporter proves on are havent had a contract in 15 months. The states final best offer fell short of the health care and salary expectations, as well as some issues with curriculum, including adjunct professors. Negotiations collapsed tuesday night, professors at 14 pennsylvania universities walked out at 5 00 oclock wednesday morning. I will remember this, absolutely. Reporter West Chester University union spokesmen says talks with the the state were moving along at a slow pace. We have had 15 months to just so little progress that we decided to strike.
