"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live outside the upper merion township police department. where a suspect is being questioned and expected to be charged. good morning, jan. >> jim, good morning, amber alert was issued in this case and police say it was tips that helped track the suspect down. woman was actually showing this baby off after leaving the king of prussia mall and kidnapping this baby from his family. now, at this point, investigators are not releasing this woman's name, they say, she from the king of prussia area. seems to be a complete stranger from the family she approached. >> overwhelming relief for the family of baby ahsir simmons, seven week old back in their arms after police say he was kidnapped by a complete stranger during a trip to the mall. >> that's a bad tragedy right there not knowing where your baby is at, and somebody got the baby and go on. this is real hard for somebody to go through. >> the ordeal started around 5:30 thursday at the king of prussia mall. surveillance video spotted the suspect walking away with the infant. earlier, police say, she had befriended the child's family, at one point the baby started crying and the woman asked to hold the child. police say mom got distracted and that's when the suspect took off. >> word quickly spread to shoppers. >> right then and there, for the mother and the baby, i didn't care about any clothes or anything i came to the mall for. >> detective one err merion township montgomery county and the fbi spent about five hours searching for the suspect and infant. and through tips, they followed the pair to a number of locations. >> we are moving from point to point. the woman who was found with the child has been taking the child around tonight, other people had seen her with the child. >> police say she was showing the baby offer to family. they track her through upper merion, malvern, before both finally locate in the tredyffrin chester county. us more wet weather. for now it is very muggy outside. we are not looking at temperatures, rather, these are your dew points. remember, dew points measure the amount of moisture in the atmosphere. the hotter the dew point, the more saturated the air mass. we're in the 60s right now. the actual air temperature is very close to these values, which means, you're essentially dealing with a saturated air mass. so matter of time before these clouds squeeze out some raindrops, but you're at 67 right now at the airport, 60 in ac, not terribly breezy, but a noticeable breeze out of the south. and that, too, will set the stage for some locally heavy downpours. future weather for today at least brinking in scattered variety of showers, and/or thunderstorms. you're going to see that somewhat off and on any time today. this is a guide. it is not gospel. but it is a good idea how it all shakes out. looks like midday the best shot to see thunder storms come through what strong in the form of "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live outside the upper merion township police department. where a suspect is being questioned and expected to be charged. good morning, jan. >> jim, good morning, amber alert was issued in this case and police say it was tips that helped track the suspect down. woman was actually showing this baby off after leaving the king of prussia mall and kidnapping this baby from his family. now, at this point, investigators are not releasing this woman's name, they say, she from the king of prussia area. seems to be a complete stranger from the family she approached. >> overwhelming relief for the family of baby ahsir simmons, seven week old back in their arms after police say he was kidnapped by a complete stranger during a trip to the mall. >> that's a bad tragedy right there not knowing where your baby is at, and somebody got the baby and go on. this is real hard for somebody to go through. >> the ordeal started around 5:30 thursday at the king of prussia mall. surveillance video spotted the suspect walking away with the infant. earlier, police say, she had befriended the child's family, at one point the baby started crying and the woman asked to hold the child. police say mom got distracted and that's when the suspect took off. >> word quickly spread to shoppers. >> right then and there, for the mother and the baby, i didn't care about any clothes or anything i came to the mall for. >> detective one err merion township montgomery county and the fbi spent about five hours searching for the suspect and infant. and through tips, they followed the pair to a number of locations. >> we are moving from point to point. the woman who was found with the child has been taking the child around tonight, other people had seen her with the child. >> police say she was showing the baby offer to family. they track her through upper merion, malvern, before both finally locate in the tredyffrin chester county. baby is safe. suspect in custody. >> this was the most dedicated response that i have ' seen from all of the officers involved. >> everybody is feeling really glad, the public, you know, help got involved. and they thank the police officers and all of them from doing their job. >> reporter: still this morning a lofter unanswered questions. police have not yet identified this woman. they are us more wet weather. for now it is very muggy outside. we are not looking at temperatures, rather, these are your dew points. remember, dew points measure the amount of moisture in the atmosphere. the hotter the dew point, the more saturated the air mass. we're in the 60s right now. the actual air temperature is very close to these values, which means, you're essentially dealing with a saturated air mass. so matter of time before these clouds squeeze out some raindrops, but you're at 67 right now at the airport, 60 in ac, not terribly breezy, but a noticeable breeze out of the south. and that, too, will set the stage for some locally heavy downpours. future weather for today at least brinking in scattered variety of showers, and/or thunderstorms. you're going to see that somewhat off and on any time today. this is a guide. it is not gospel. but it is a good idea how it all shakes out. looks like midday the best shot to see thunder storms come through what strong in the form of some very gusty winds, downpours, but just a guide. tomorrow area of low pressure redeveloping on the tail end of the said front. that's why we have another rounds every potential for rain on the way
