area. today, the national weather service will be in lancaster county checking to see if a tornado touched down there. several buildings, including a school house in the town of gap suffered major damage. also knocked out power to many residents in the area, thousands of people. crews are working to restore that service. hard to believe looking at this video no one was injured. that's a positive we can take away from this. once again, national weather service looking for it was a tornado in lancaster >> last evening when the squall line came in was when things started to get nasty across eastern lancaster county. we're looking at the radar from last night. let's go full screen with it. we'll take you back in time and show you what ended up transpireing. this was rough stuff. we had incredible strength with that squall line here. we zero in, again this is from last night. what ended up happening. doppler indications of rotation that you see on the tail end of loop there, that's why. the tornado watch got upgraded to a warning for that area. it happened at 7:00 p.m. in lancaster county. when that nasty thunderstorm cell rumpled on through. numerous damage reports including flooding but specific to the town of white horse north of gap. we ended up with several buildings reported suffering wind damage, considerable debris. now, when the national weather service goes out to do their survey. they're going to be looking for a wind damage 18 or tornado >> biggest difference is the direction that the wind and the damage takes from that wind. so if it was straight line wind, you would see the kind of debris all being pushed in one direction that the wind was coming from. if it was tornado in nature, that would scatter the debris for one thing but also sort of the sort of twist it, twisted kind of damage that would result in that. that's what they're going to be assessing. we bring it back to dark residual impacts at this point. there are flood warnings posted until 10:15 in mercy. meantime our area temperatures are really mild. you still got wind and these temperature cold air starts to catch up with us will cambric wally decline. so these are your expected afternoon temperatures around the region as a whole. but expect that those values will can't to decline. that a may feel cooler than that as the wind starts to shift more northwesterly. in the meantime they could gust as high as 35 miles per hour at any time. this is a prolonged event. i'll tell you how long it will last coming up later in the show >> thanks so much. good morning volume levels are certainly starting to heat up as we push into the 6:00 hour. i'm usually back camera to think it was frozen. as you can see, not much movement in terms of the vehicle crawl all the way around this scurve your seeing just a sea of brake lights. not only are you not traveling at posted speeds but accident pushed over to the shoulder, this is that residual effect. you're seeing a greenwood and fox chase road. that area is now closed. we're waiting on peco crews to show up and take a look at damaged wiring back there. which will hopefully get the power that's out in some of these areas back on line here. the likely cause is strong winds as we saw in lawncrest last night. let's take you to that video. strong winds are being blamed for this blown-down burger king sign. the rising sun avenue restaurant was open at the height of last night's storm. workers and customers inside. some interfering that sign would collapse on to them, it did not and there are no reports of any injuries as a result of that accident. let's move you now to cheltenham where we have another downed tree. this one fell on to a house about 9:00 p.m. at new 2nd street and east church road. there going on with the weather watcher network. they have a couple of pretty substantial rainfall totals they're coming into us. kenneth is in willingboroly reporting two and three quarters inches of rain, delores picked up over two inches as did bar before in rolling as did julie in allentown, broad stretch of heavy rain-over an inches, even close to two for kerry if mt. laurel and the list goes on. where we ended up over an inch. there were spots that didn't do quite as well from phil in philadelphia. we picked up just 100th of an inch. our first photo does come to us from phil, gorgeous shot of the moon this morning, skies had a chance to clear out briefly. still rain coming out. water dripping down from the downspout. that's because we are still finding obviously things try to drain away from the flooding but also you still got residual showers. i did hear from somebody on twitter in kutztown and it's not just showering, it's straight up raining. you're going to have pockets of the heavier stuff come through but it is scattered in nature. that said, in terms of the storm damage we saw, a lot of clean-ups to do. major flooding, cars stranded. trees, again, falling on to structures here, left and right across our area. this is a short list of some of those worst storm damage that we saw in our area. but al with the flooding concerns, we still have a couple of guages that are at least close to or actually flooding. so you know, as you go around the region here today and pay close attention to what meisha got to say, make sure that you're keeping, taking heat of any kind of road closures you see, because flooding is still an active problem. thankfully it's diminishing with time. so that's at least good news. meantime, temperatures are also dmining as we go throughout the day, that warmestth of mid 50's is going to gradually decline and we're stuck with the chill yesterday day by tomorrow. . we saw flooding in new jersey. speaking of jersey, 42 freeway
