A young child is safely back with his family after a frightening ordeal. The boy was asleep in a car were someone stole it from a parking lot. It is frigid out here this morning. This little boy, six years old, could have been dropped off anywhere. He also has asthma and didnt have his inhaler with him. Fortunately, police say he was found safe and sound, asleep through the entire thing and found still inside of that stolen car. The heat was still on. We were here at this 7eleven in frankford early this morning when mother and son were reunited. Take a look at this video, this is the 7eleven at bridge and oxford avenue. Our cameras were rolling as mother and son embraced, of course, there were a lot of hugs and tears. Understandably so. In the meantime this morning, police busy trying to track down the suspect. This all started around 2 30 here at the 7eleven in frankford. Police say the boys stepfather went inside the store and left the 6yearold sleeping in the back seat of a car with the car still running. Thats when police say another man got in car and sped off with the boy still inside. Now, police were able to find that car, they tracked it down just about 30 minutes later as it turns out, the suspect ditched it that the 4300 block of leaper street. Thats about a mile away from this 7eleven. Take a listen. Were going to print that entire car, get dna evidence. We are now, now that we know the boy is ok and we found car, now were going to text person who did this. Reporter police say there was just a lot of hard work by investigators on the scene to track down the car. The boy then was reunited with his mom about 30 minutes after that. A 60 minute ordeal for mom. Everything is safe and sound. Everyone is safe and sound this morning, police are still looking for the suspect. You can see thick smoke there and flames billowing out of the house on the 1,000 block in Kennett Square around midnight. Firefighters battled the flames and icy conditions. Eventually at that homes roof caved in. A mustang also damaged. No word on what caused the fire. An investigation also under way on what caused this fire at the cobbs creek golf club.
