investigating the death after man found in a center city hotel. sources tell "eyewitness news", he was a well known doctor. our justin finch joins us now at police headquarters with the latest on this investigation. justin, good morning. >> erika, good morning, police have reason to pursue this doctor's death as a murder investigation. and this morning, they say, they are looking for a killer. >> it is surprising in this neighborhood for sure. >> surprising that police are looking into a man's murder monday morning, at the rodeway inn in center sit. >> i lady at the front desk acted like she didn't know anything. then the police just said they were investigating a crime, where they said it was safe. >> sources tell us the victim age 75 was found dead in a fifth floor hotel room with walking his dog was shot and killed monday night. this happened just before 7:30, the 300 block of horton street in the city's carol park section. police say that man described as in his 20's, was shot once in the head. >> when the neighbors saw him, laying on the sidewalk, he still was holding the lean in his hand, and the dog was attached. so, although he was unconscious and laying on the sidewalk, he was still holding ton his dog leash. so he obviously was walking his dog when he was shot. >> the victim was taken to pen presbyterian medical where he was later pronounced dead. police have no suspect or motive at this time. a texas grand jury has declined to indict anyone over the death of sandra bland. an autopsy determined the 28 year old hung herself in a jail cell in july. she was arrested three days before, for allegedly assaulting a officer during a traffic stop. the special prosecutor handling this case says the grand jurily reconvene in january, and take up all remaining issues. meanwhile, new trial date for a baltimore police officer charged in connection with freddie gray's death. william porter will be retried next june. his first trial ended with a hung investigating the death after man found in a center city hotel. sources tell "eyewitness news", he was a well known doctor. our justin finch joins us now at police headquarters with the latest on this investigation. justin, good morning. >> erika, good morning, police have reason to pursue this doctor's death as a murder investigation. and this morning, they say, they are looking for a killer. >> it is surprising in this neighborhood for sure. >> surprising that police are looking into a man's murder monday morning, at the rodeway inn in center sit. >> i lady at the front desk acted like she didn't know anything. then the police just said they were investigating a crime, where they said it was safe. >> sources tell us the victim age 75 was found dead in a fifth floor hotel room with something wrapped tightly around his neck perhaps a belt or a clot. >> at first he is thought to have died of what's called auto erotic affix ace, secretary act where they cut off their own air walking his dog was shot and killed monday night. this happened just before 7:30, the 300 block of horton street in the city's carol park section. police say that man described as in his 20's, was shot once in the head. >> when the neighbors saw him, laying on the sidewalk, he still was holding the lean in his hand, and the dog was attached. so, although he was unconscious and laying on the sidewalk, he was still holding ton his dog leash. so he obviously was walking his dog when he was shot. >> the victim was taken to pen presbyterian medical where he was later pronounced dead. police have no suspect or motive at this time. a texas grand jury has declined to indict anyone over the death of sandra bland. an autopsy determined the 28 year old hung herself in a jail cell in july. she was arrested three days before, for allegedly assaulting a officer during a traffic stop. the special prosecutor handling this case says the grand jurily reconvene in january, and take up all remaining issues. meanwhile, new trial date for a baltimore police officer charged in connection with freddie gray's death. william porter will be retried next june. his first trial ended with a hung
