"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch live at northeast detective with the very latest, justin? nicole, good morning, police do believe at least one of those victims was the target of this shooting. at last check, that pregnant woman, eight months pregnant, is now in stable condition, and that male victim, 21 years old, is in critical condition. let's take you now to video from last night. police say at least 11 shots were fired, just before 10:00 thursday night in the frankford neighborhood. at that scene, they found 11 spent shell casings, on the 4100 block of paul street. where those two victims we are told were sitting on the front steps of that woman's paul street home. now, witnesses tell police they saw two men pull up, and in a white four door cadillac north of the man and woman, and that is when at least one of those two men opened fire from just more than two dozen feet away, that 21 jerold man hit in his lower back, and that woman, eight month pregnant, age 23, she was hit in her left thigh. both ran inside the house and were able to escape. but early into their investigation, police don't yet have a motive. >> based on balistic evidence, we know the shooter stood about 30 feet north of where the two victims were. so, it appears that one or two of these victims were the intended target. >> reporter: and at last check, both of those victims are recovering at temple university hospital. that man is now in critical condition. and the woman, who is eight month pregnant, she is in stable condition at this time. police now are looking for tips to find that white four door cadillac that had those two men in it, and at least one of those men, they say, is the shooter. luckily, police say, there are several surveillance cameras in the area. that may have caught this crime as it happened on video. we are live from northeast detective. justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". let's hope that surveillance video helps. justin, thank you. meanwhile five rutgers university football players under suspension following criminal charges. andre bogs of coatesville and former player tj johnson egg harbor are charged in a home invasion of heartwell street in new brunswick back in april. two other players are also accused of another home invasion in may. now, some of the players are also charged with assaulting a group of people back in april. >> i think it is a little bit disrespectful to like the school in general, just because, you know, a loft these students are getting scholarships and stuff to come play. soap, like, to be involved in something like, that like it kind of lowers the rutgers name. >> in a brief statement, rutgers athletic director julie hermann says quote we continue to monitor the situation, we'll have no further comment as this is pending legal matter. >> the eagles last pre-season game is now over. and now we look forward to the start of the real thing. that's week from sunday in atlanta so last night's pre-season finale pretty much build as battle for third string quarterback job. matt barkley, not good, but tim tebow through interception, but he made up for it, toss too long touchdowns including one to roxborough high and product bailey. love to see local guy do well. jets win this 124 to 18. tebow enjoyed the challenge. >> tebow: i said this a lot of times, because i jen oohly mean it, i can't worry about what i can't control. bless to go to come out, enjoy the game, a loft fun out there tonight, and i had a blast. >> just something about him, i just like him. of course the back page of the daily news sums it up. the battle for that third string quarterback job, that is, they ask, who won? see your kids on tv. great thing. all right, moving on right now, do you plan on getting out of town for the long labor day weekend? well, you're not alone obviously, a loft us want to do that. if you're traveling, three on your side consumer reporter jim donovan takes a look at what you can expect. >> the summer travel season is expected to end on a high note. we're expecting big things this labor day, some 35.5 million americans, are going to take to the roads and to the air. that's huge for our economy. the us travel association estimates labor day travel will generate $13.5 billion in spending increase of 2% over last year. even with the recent dive in gas prices. gas prices are nearly a dollar lower than this time last year. labor day prices haven't been this low since 2004. drivers will spends an average of $270 on their long weekend road trips. more than 14 million people are expected to fly around the holiday, up 3% from last year. airfares have also eased, as well, but demand remains steady, so consumers may not find those last minute bargains, they may be looking for. the us travel association, estimates, labor day air travelers will spend just under $1,100 on average. >> we're seeing consumers want to spend, they've been cooped up a long time with the economy not being as well the past couple of years. that's improving. they're spending money. >> plan on staying close to home. triple a mid-atlantic says of the people it has surveyed, 68% will spend the weekends going to cook out or simply relaxing, another 15% are expected to head to the shore. reporting for three on your side, i'm jim donovan. >> all right, coming up in the next half hour every "eyewitness news", just three weeks away from the pope's visit to philadelphia. and even more details have emerged. we'll tell but two new opportunities to see the pontiff up close and what you need to do to make it happen. jan?
