Just this week a 66 yearold man remains, missing in the delaware, have after his sail both capsized wednesday night. He was not wearing a life jacket. Despite wednesdays incident the number of accidents are significantly down over last year when there were 320 accidents and eight fatalities. So far this year, just 14 accidents and one fatality, and troopers hope to keep it that way, this weekend. Take it easy, just play it smart. Save the alcohol for home. They were smart moving the boston pops to last night because it is a mess out there in boston but for us, clouds are thinning and it looks just beautiful across the entire region as that dry northwesterly flow, sweeps in, dries us out and taking that humidity down. Latest object arthur still a hurricane, category one with the sustained winds of 80. Gusts at hundred miles an hour, moving north east at 26 miles per hour, and central pressure right now at 979 millibars. The arthur will be downgraded to a Tropical Storm and then move through portions of nova scotia and then eventually be downgraded to a subtropical low as we head through the rest of the weekend. The further away it gets from f, things continue to be. Ill tell you one thing we have to be concerned about here tomorrow is still the the high surf. As the storm moves away this will improve through the weekend but High Surf Advisory has been issued through 4 00 p. M. Tomorrow and this is for dangerous rip currents. Waves four to 8 feet. Note that is water temperature just 59 degrees. Even this morning or yesterday before arthur came through water temperatures in the 70s. Now upper 50s. Much colder water out there because that storm churns everything up. You can imagine cold water laying below surface is all brought to the surface when storm like that comes through and whips it up. Definitely down the shore this weekend probably dont want to be in the water tomorrow. It is going to be cold. Rip current risk is high, waves are high. Just put your feet in the surf and that is it, stay safe, dont take chances out there this weekend. Beautiful day down the shore, sunny and breezy at 80 degrees.
