president roosevelt asked congress for a declaration of war. veterans and survivors today of the attack will attend commemoration shown is, they will honor the 2400 people who died, in that attack. this wreath laying ceremony took place earlier this week. there will be a similar scene at battleship new jersey in camden, veterans will the georgia tore lay a wreath in the delaware river as they did last year. ceremony will be at ten this morning and it is free and opened to the public. one of the few surviving planes of the japanese attack on pearl harbor is now on display. >> five years days went out to try to find the japanese fleet, knowing if they did find it, they were probably in trouble. >> reporter: west roof was pilot on that mission. he and his crew got within 30 miles of the japanese fleet and lived to tell about it. >> i thought at that time this will be a one way trip. >> this is a picture of the senior rank commander help he died. >> reporter: ruth tied last year. his son said he would be happy to know his plane is now getting the attention it tea serves. >> he would have been proud to know that they have recovered the lane he flew on this special mission. >> showing a flight in pearl harbor on december 7th. >> reporter: that entry landed the lane here at air and space museum in virginia where this taterd survivor will eventually be restored to its former glory. in virginia, craig boswell for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". ruth received navy cross for his actions at pearl harbor when restoration work begins on the plane, it is expected to take five years. a lot of children look forward to visiting santa during the holidays but one little north carolina boy says his experience left him upset. anthony may said he was fat shamed by santa this picture show
