on broad street. investigators are working to piece together exactly what happened but one person was stabbed and second person was assaulted this happened around 2:30 between allegheny avenue and clear field street in glenwood. both are in stable condition, police have made one arrest. opening statements will be heard today in the tragic case of the three-year old brandon creato his father dj is accused of murdering a young boy in 2015. >> "eyewitness news" reporter trang do joins us live from the courthouse in camden, good morning, trang do. >> reporter: good morning, jan and jim. lawyers for both side have been in court since tuesday for jury selection. now that wrapped up this trial can begin. it is expected to take 15 days , over the next five weeks after nearly a year and a half , since his arrest 23 year-old dj creato's trial date has finally arrived. creato is facing murder and child endangerment charges in the death of his three-year old son brandon. haddon township man reported his son missing in october of 2015. here's audio from that 911 call. >> 911, is what your emergency >> i just woke up my three-year oldies missing. >> reporter: after a brief search little boys body was found a half mile from his father's apartment in the wooded area by cooper river. months later in january of 2016, police arrested creato and charged him with first degree murder. >> pivotal issue in the case. >> reporter: prosecution is arguing that creato killed his son to try to stop his teenage girlfriend from leaving him but prosecutors have quite challenge in front of them. case is based on circumstantial evidence, no witnesses or dna evidence, in an autopsy on brandon was inconclusive about the cause of his death. just last week, creato's attorney told "eyewitness news" he is confident his client's name will be cleared. >> we're ready, we're optimistic, we have a very strong sense of what the evidence will show and i believe at the end of the day mr. creato will preveil. >> reporter: trial is set for 9:00 a.m. in judge john kelly 's courtroom and expected to go on through the end of may. we are outside camden county courthouse i'm trang do for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". jan and jim, back to you. well, convicted killer eric frein will be fighting for his life today when penalty phase of the trial begins at pike county courthouse. prosecutors say that they will seek the death penalty, jurors brought in from chester county quick the self proclaimed survival list in the 2014 ambush murder of the state police corporal. three three-year old frein suspects after a man is fatal ly shot in the fair hill section of the north philadelphia. this happened, on the 400 block of west clear field street just before 6:00 last night, officers found a 36 year-old man with multiple gunshot wound to his arms and chest he was sitting in the driver's seat of his parked suv, police believe he was shot at close range. >> based on ballistics evidence we know that multiple shots were fired from the semiautomatic weapon from very close proximity because we have found numerous shell casings just inches and some feet away from the driver door , of the vehicle. >> now victim died shortly after being brought to the hospital last night and this point police have no motive or suspects for that shooting. officials are trying to piece together events that led to the deadly police involved shooting in wilmington delaware. this is where it ended around 2:00 when police fatally shot a suspect on the ground of the saint helena roman catholic church. suspect led them on a chase on north market street that pursuit ended with a crash. suspect then got out, took off running down philadelphia pike and washington street extension. >> suspects fled on foot and officers gave chase and attempt to apprehend him. a confrontation ensued resulting in the suspect being shot and killed by police. >> we're told the officers involved in the shooting were taken to the hospital to get check out. a vicious attack is caught on video and this morning police need your help finding men responsible. this video was taken around 12:30 saturday afternoon at b and tioga in kensington. suspects attacked a man who just left a restaurant. victim was savagely kick, punched until unconscious. suspects made off with the vick tells cell phone and wallet. >> former
