palmyra cove nature shot because there was quite literally nothing you could see, but just shroud of cloud cover. specially since it is right over the river bed here, really awe laws for that fog to set until with all of the moisture available to you. meanwhile, everywhere else, think they're looking pretty good. you have pretty clear sky in fact over most every delaware, southern half of new jersey, few more clouds rolling in over southeastern pennsylvania, but generally this is just quiet start to the day. these are your actual air temperatures, and they're impressive. fifty-two currently at the airport, 49 wilmington, some of the coolest spots of the pack, but reading, currently, at 59 degrees. now, as the day progresses, we are expecting another day of may-like warmth, 70s with ease, perhaps little warmer. see how we do. but we flirt with 70 even in the mountains today. that's a feat for february 24th, for sure, meisha. >> absolutely it is. all right, katie. well, good morning, and happy friday to you. so this is a look at the vine. closed overnight for construction, now open both moving in the westbound and eastbound direction. speak egg of the vine, we did have disable vehicle at the vine, exit ramp on to the westbound schuylkill. that has also since been cleared. so the vine you are looking good, still looking quiet. just heads up just moving out the door right now. it is now open. then talking about this accident that just happened in royersford, main street at north third avenue. just a heads up, not slowing anyone down right now. you might just get couple of people tapping their breaks as they drive by. overall wanted to bring that to your attention, then, running new schedules for city and suburban transit. starting sunday, monday, check the schedules on line but heads up on this. no change to the market frankford line. that's staying consistent. then the walt whitman bridge that construction that we were seeing earlier this morning has now since been cleared. what's not cleared is more construction in new jersey. take a look at this, 295 north before route 42, left lane blocked. that will be blocked until about right now. right now crews should be out there cleaning that away. i'll confirm as soon as that does. overall more construction, talk about that coming up in a little bit. jim, rahel, back over to you. >> updating breaking news this morning, flames engulfing hotel in south jersey leaving at least one guest hanging from a window. >> "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live at the ramada inn in vie land where jan you just got update from firefighters watch are they telling you? >> reporter: rahel, jim, good morning, that's right. we just spoke to fire officials live on the scene here in vineland. in all, two people were injured during this overnight fire. a woman who was inside the room where this fire started was able to get herself out of the billing, but in the before she suffered smoke inhalation and burns. she sought out e in. s. she was taken to local hospital for treatment. the other person who was injured is a police officer who was going door-to-door inside of this building to make sure everyone got out safely. that officer was taken for treatment for smoke inhalation. meanwhile live on the scene here behind me, you can see that fire crews are still working on the scene, this fire under control, but every once in a while they do start sprague water again on the building. you're also taking a look at viewer video on the screen right now. this is what it look like when fire crews first arrived, heavy smoke and flames were shooting from the roof. this was a very big fire. it made it way to two alarms. there are dozens of firefighters here, number of ladder trucks, and other apparatus. working this fire and making sure it doesn't spark back up, those hot spots. now this fire started around 2:00 this morning, here at the ramada inn the 2200 block every west landis avenue in vineland. told there are more than 30 rooms inside of this two story building, fortunately, everyone is accounted for this morning. but not without a lot of hard work by police and firefighters. they went through this building making sure everyone got out. a firefighter even saved someone hanging from a second story window. take a listen. >> they were hanging out the window, throwing their belongings out the window, our initial arriving crews through grounds ladders to the second floor window and help them over and down to the grounds. they had heavy fire and smoke conditions from one unit on the second floor with fire extending into the hallway. they were able to initially contain the fire to the hallway and the fire unit. then we had fire extended to the attic space. and it basically running from the rear of the building up through the fire wall, about six unit up. we were able to contain it in the attic space above the six unit. >> reporter: so there is was a very big fire, those people hanging from the window, were actually in the room next to where the fire started. they didn't even have to be taken to the hospital. so, very quick action by the firefighters, the fire department this morning, to really keep people safe. now, the people who were staying here overnight are now next-door at the neighboring hotel. in the meantime, firefighters remain on the scene, they're looking for a cause of this fire this morning. i was able to speak to number of people who were staying shear. they tell us the back side of the building where the fire started were actually smoking rooms. the fire officials could not comment on that this morning. they also couldn't comment about whether the fire alarms were sounding inside. but they do say, they were first notified of this fire because of a fire alarm signal. so a lot of unanswered questions this morning, but we will stay to up date. for now live in vineland, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," jim, rahel, back to you. >> still a lot of questions for investigators, thank you. new this morning, man killed during attempted robbery in chester. and his girlfriends saw it happen. police say the victim was picking up his girlfriend at her house, here on the 2600 block of boil street just after 10:30 last night. she stepped outside to see her boyfriend being robbed. she then witnessed the suspect shoot her boyfriend in the head. that man then ran away. so far there are no arrests. >> new information right now on hit-and-run that left a man fighting for his live in kensington. >> overnight we learned that police found the car they believe was involved. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do, live at the police accident and investigation division, trang, any sign that far driver yet? >> well, jim, rahel, still no sign that far driver. but again, officers did locate that abandoned car overnight on the 300 block of martha street in port richmond. investigators are now processing that car, for evidence, but take a look at some video of the scene last night in kensington. >> this accident happened just before 7:30 at the intersection of emeralds and clearfield street. police arrived to find 43 year old man, lying unconscious, on the grounds, with severe head trauma and two broken legs. medics returned him to manhattan hospital. police say the man was crossing clearfield, after leaving a corner store, he was only feet from his front door, when that car hit him. and the force of the man's body cracked the win shield and sent him into the air. but the driver kept going. neighbors meanwhile are distraut. >> said to be a real nice guy who when the weather get nice, he sits outside, and he cooks for the people of the neighborhood. so a lot of the neighbors are really upset to hear that this 43 year old victim was hit by the car, and he's in such bad shape. >> so, there were several witnesses to this accident. and police were able to get surveillance video from a corner store that showed the whole thing unfold. so they were able to get that really good description of the car, ultimately led them to find that car. meanwhile the victim remains in critical condition at hahnemann hospital. but for now, live from the accident investigation district, trang do, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," jim, rahel, back to you. >> thank you, trang, for that report. >> meanwhile, road rage incident in montgomery county left 15 year old girl injured, and former upper gwenned police officer facing charges. >> this all happened saturday night on the 1900 block of second street in upper gwenned. that is where police seo end farmer fired three shots into a bmw after step daughter altercation with someone in the bmw. inside the car was a mother, father, and their 15 year old daughter, one of those shots injured the 15 year old. farmer is now charged with assault and wreckless endangerment. he was a member of the upper gwenned police department from 2,000 to 2009. police in wilmington continue investigating attempted sexual assault in brandywine park. twenty-eight year old woman was running in the park when she said she was attacked at about 7:30 wednesday night. a man pushed her to the ground and tried to assault her, but she fought him off. the suspect then ran from the scene, the victim was not seriously hurt. and, to new jersey, gloucester township police are looking for the man shown in this sketch. he's wanted for attempted kidnapping. police say he tried to pull a woman into his suv on may apple road monday night. she screamed, he left her go. officers think the man is driving new model white suv possibly a bmwx1 or x3. the suspect in the shooting of two washington dc police officers has died after also being shot. both officers are in the hospital now with non-life threatening injuries. the shooting happened before 11:00 last night. while the officers were patrolling in the city northeast section. the city councilman is calling for more solutions to the city's gun violence. >> no community should have to live like this. this gun violence is really a scour and on our city. the officers, my thoughts, are with them. and we really need to put in place solutions to stop this violence. it is just unacceptable. >> this shooting comes after four men were shot and three separate shootings in south-east dc. >> new jersey pinelands commission will vote this morning on controversial natural gas pipeline proposal. the proposal by south jersey industries calls for 22-mile natural gas pipeline, would run from commercial township to the bl england power plant in beastly point. it is part of plan to convert the plant from oil and coal to cleaner burning natural gas. siting environmental concerns fighting this for years, but do does have the support of governor christie and zombies groups. >> video. bees had attack this girl, and two other, they're expected to be okay. sadly a dog did not survive. firefighters had to use hose lines with foam to knock down the bees, also used to fill the hollow out tree where the bees live so they cannot return. >> snow board is her recovering after spending the night on a california mountain, a mid freezing temperatures. now, take a look at this dramatic rescue video, you can see the chopper team hoisting the man to safety. reported missing tuesday from ski resort near lake tahoe, and was rescued on wednesday. he's being treated for cold-related injuries. and, central wyoming, well, they're being pounded with heavy snow and high winds. twelve to 14 inches of snow, and 50-mile per hour winds. temperatures in the teens and 20's are making for dangerous conditions across the region. a winter storm warning is expected to last through this morning, and temperatures will stay below freezing for the rest of the weekends. another yesterday. meanwhile, we do have a couple of my records for the books, folks. since yesterday, wilmington, mount pocono, reading, allentown, all with new numbers for the history books. the old record in wilmington was 72, we beat it by full agree here. beat it by 3 degrees up at mount pocono, 63 degrees, and i expect that you will warm up even more today in most of these locations. mount pocono shooting for upper 60s. in late february, that is just unheard of. so i know the ski lovers are definitely not jazzed about this news. but, you know, we are dealt what we're dealt. so make the most of it, right? and today will be great excuse to be outside. taking a look at storm scan though, you can already see some of the leading edge every frontal boundery lifting in here to keep things very mild for us, up into the great lakes region. this is larger storm. just talk about wyoming. that will storm is the same one affecting us come tomorrow in the forming of form of very potent colds front. so at the moment parts every wisconsin, lower michigan, very heavy snow, but also, ice and rain there. we get in on the cold front with that storm. and because it is so warm, really just going to see for one thing a big drop on the thermometer, but also, just rain and thunderstorms. very spring-like forecast, right? still warm meantime today hitting 72 degrees, later tonight we drop it back down to about 54, under partly cloudy sky, then looking ahead i think we still crack 70 tomorrow. the more clouds building in, and i say between the hours of four p.m. and 8:00 p.m. or so you will see the showers and gusty thunderstorms rumble on in. meisha? >> so save or these 70s while we have them. thanks, katie. tgif to you. looking outside right now, what are we looking at? well, this guy, is a huge disable tractor-trailer, now, this is blocking germantown pike both directions near 202. and they are actually directing traffic through a parking lot. kind of hard to see. they are directing them back over here somewhere to get back on. so again that's germantown pike near route 202 blocking both directions. and you will be diverted through parking lot. that could pose some problems maybe pushing toward the 6:00 hour and moving into the 6:00 hour on a friday. also the schuylkill headlight moving in the eastbound direction, near king of prussia. you can see what you are working with there, i would say slowly starting to build levels basically anywhere that we look. but still looking okay. for a friday morning, for early friday morning, at that, in the 5:00 hour, i would say, this is looking just a little bit busy. ninety-five south at cottman, kind of the same story here. given that it is a friday, and that it is so early. this is you pushing in the southbound direction looking okay, we were seeing couple of brake lies go -- light go off, overall just you putting on your brakes, that has nothing to do with congestion levels there. talking about this, hotel fire in vineland, new jersey, heads up, closed because of the west landis road, your alternate, almond road will be your best bet around there. jim, rahel, back over to you. >> thank you, meisha. for a look
