union who says finally it seems like communication and real bargaining was happening between the two side but here we are at day three and still no agreement is in place and now septa officials are issuing this statement. lets take a look. they are calling on the union to engage in good faith negotiations. the septa board chairman writes in part on several occasions this week septa negotiators believed progress had been made toward a deal, however at each of those seemingly positive turns twu local 234 has brought a halt to negotiations. the union says septa's statement is outrageous. roughly 5,000 union members walk off the job early tuesday morning leaving hundreds of thousands of commuters and school children looking for a different ride. on the big sticking point of pensions septa says it has adopted an entirely new plan at union's request that will increase benefit the for members. the septa says it has offered wage increases bringing average employee's annual earnings from 68,000 to $76,000 over the five years of the proposal. officials also a that they have addressed operation at issues. union wants better work rules including shore rest time between shifts. as
