"eyewitness news" reporter david spunt reports from cherry hill. >> reporter: black friday 2015 is in the books, and shoppers tell "eyewitness news" it is definitely one to remember. >> this was first time i had a chance to ever do it because i always work on black friday. so i said i will go out today to see what all of the hoopla was about. >> reporter: tens of thousands poured in and out of the cherry hill mall, thanksgiving night and all day friday, starting in the morning at 6:00. >> we got good deals today. >> fun. >> reporter: some shoppers are calling the hours a little bit more old fashion, why? last year cherry hill and other local malls stayed opened for more than 24 hours. not the the case this year. >> i don't think they should be opened on thanksgiving day but black friday is always like the opening of all of the shopping for christmas and stuff, hanukkah, it is fun. >> reporter: shoppers told "eyewitness news" that the clothing stores had the best deals and the crowds were packed. >> it the is about the same crowd but the the the later, in the day you come the more crowded it is. >> reporter: accord together the national the retail federation surveys a little will morning, alex. >> reporter: we saw that boost in sales of black friday shopping yesterday and now business owners are hoping that consumers kept some money in their pockets to help spend today and support the local economy. we are here at jack's boutique in the glittering downtown haddonfield. it is beautiful. they have lights up. i have jamie. the she's the owner of the store. this is a business here for two and a half years. >> yes to serve our who will take season. >> reporter: tell me burr store. >> we carry women's clothes and accessories a wide range of things for kind of anybody. >> reporter: very great. small business sat the day, when did you realize this was something you wanted to be on board with and you hoped your shoppers would be too. >> ever since coming to haddonfield, it is just a huge thing down here. they go all out promoting it. it is a community where the local people who live here support the small business and it is important to the town. >> highway. a state trooper's dash cam video captured that moment when two people involve in the car accident narrowly missed being hit by a speeding vehicle as it the suddenly screens off the road. the 21 year-old man was a arrested after he drove into one of those two cars involved in the earlier accident just narrowly missing the state police cruiser and two men standing on i-95. state police released a video as a reminder about the dangers of being stopped on the highway. back here in our area charred wreckage is all that remains at site of the fiery crash of the atlantic city expressway. viewer sent us a picture after the crash happened on friday morning at the egg harbor toll plaza you can see car right there and toll area just consumed by flames. the driver of that car was killed. he is identified as 39 year-old joseph crawford of egg harbor city. there were no other injuries. the the cause of the crash has yet to be determined. two people from philadelphia are dead after a pontoon boat capsized off the coast of new jersey. fatal accident happened around 1:30 in the the afternoon in the manasquan inlet in monmouth county. seven people were on board. the the passengers identified as alex, and gregory. fifty-nine surviving passengers did not survive their injuries. viewer zachary tatiyana, took pictures of the rescue scene. >> we saw something in the the water which looked like a wooden platform. it turns out it was the underside of the pontoon boat. >> police say a large swell tipped that bet both over sending seven passengers into the the water. arizona man is lucky to be alive after a thanksgiving rock climbing trip goes wrong. twenty-one year-old man said he decided to go rock climbing in phoenix without property safety gear. he ended up calling 911 shortly after 9:00 on thank giving morning when he got stuck. the rescuers climbed above, his perch and repelled down to get him. fortunately, in one was hurt. a complex storm system packed rain, sleet and snow. thinks the scene in topeka, kansas. sleet and freezing rain made it difficult to get people around. that same storm system is heading our way but not the too difficult. we will check problems. check out storm scan three we will check out that storm system in the deep south of texas, still some sleet and freezing rain in western texas and oklahoma, as the storm moves off to the north and east it weakens. we will not see any true heavy rain from this storm but some showers and then, they are breaking up over mountains of the western pennsylvania. this initial surge of moisture will come through late this afternoon into tonight, again not a big deal, and then tomorrow we will get steady showers, early sunday morning is the the actual cold front slides through but it will bring cooler air in. that will be the trend into next week. here's the setup. we have one more mild day to day, shower chance returns later this afternoon and evening hours and then temperatures cooling back down. where they should this be time of the year. it is not that bad. south jersey into delaware cool spots only at 45 degrees in millville. not bad, 52 in the the capitol city of delaware n newark checking in at 48, numbers right around philadelphia, surrounding suburbs, lower 50's mount holly, new jersey, malvern, chalfont in the upper 40's at this hour. mount pocono a mild 53 degrees, upper 40's in allentown and quakertown. here's our future weather model cloud with some sunshine. as we head north west spots across the region may run into light rain showers. this is nothing heavy. these are broken up, scattered, and maybe after 3:00 o'clock on we could get a rain showers in the city. mostly not that, wet, tonight and then it is tomorrow morning, steady showers trying to show up, especially from the city on south and early sunday morning as cold front continues to move southward we are starting to dry out. we will see increasing sunshine tomorrow from north to south. not a bad weekend. how much rain? well, through this evening, generally less than a tenth of an inch. not a big deal. steadier showers could get into south jersey tomorrow morning and we will pick up a quarter to an inch in some locations. here are temperatures. today we're still mild, well in the 60's. potentially mid 60's if the showers hold off long enough and then tonight temperatures once again hold in the 40's to around 50 degrees but then they will stay on the cool side for sunday. high upper 40's. i think lower 50's in some locations. here's why. it is because jet stream is back on the move. right new to our north. we have a mild push of air. here comes the the jet coming in southward allowing that colder air from canada to spill in and that settles in our region for next several days and we will track stronger storms and better chances of rain. today mostly cloudy skies, watch out for that sure late. high of 65 degrees. tonight better chance for scattered showers, 48 for the the low temperature and we will get up to about 52 for the high on sunday, after morning showers, and then some sunshine in the afternoon. monday looks nice, cool, 49 in the sun and then tuesday that larger storm will bring widespread showers in here. some could extend into wednesday with highs in the mid 50's. erika, back over to you. the the white house new proudly displays the official christmas tree and it is a tree from montgomery county. it was delivered friday in morning, first lady michelle obama was there checking on it. buster's farms out of lansdale cultivated the 18-foot frazier fur which was planted back in 2001. jay and glenn buster you see right there were with the first lady. they were on hand for the horse cart delivery. well, all aboard "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff joins us from haddonfield, new jersey getting a tour where we can go shopping later on, good morning. >> reporter: thinks a nice early shopping day for me for sure. haddonfield is glittering with christmas lights, very festive. i'm here inside pop bake shop. love the name. got my attention even before the smell attracted me right in. >> sure. >> reporter: thinks matthew, co-owner here. tell will me about your business. you have a unique twist. >> we're a certified bakery, varieties of breads, cup cakes, pastries, large cake, you know, couple different places, so we're all not just in those locations but we have items set up for everybody in the morning to be ready to go for small business saturday. >> reporter: is this your first small business saturday. >> it is our second. last year, you know, small business saturday we were busy but we will be really bus. yesterday was really busy, block friday but this is our day. so it is going to be exciting. >> reporter: it is your day. i asked, the boutique down the the street, is it hard to compare with the larger chains where people can pop in, get something cheap and walk out. this has a more intimate, delicate craftmanship involved. do you ever find it, frustrating to have to compete with the bigger stores. >> you know what is funny is we just started, with whole food. they are actually backing us. a lot of people have a reputation of having us in their store. so, not only, you know, we are making everything on a daily basis. it is not shipped in from somewhere else. we are making sure it is fresh out of the oven. we're getting it fresh. so, to tell people oh, apple pie is in the oven. cup cakes just came out. that is what customers really are excited about every day. even the smell when you come in the door, cinnamon, coconut it is amazing. >> reporter: here from looking at these, these are precious. >> yes. >> reporter: is what your favorite. >> i'm a breakfast person, coffee and something. our about a nan bread is right here. super popular. we have banana chocolate chip, accompanying a walnut. the is there pumpkin bunt cakes but, chocolate chips hit the spot. hand and hand with a cup of coffee it works great. >> reporter: thinks perfect. you have all of the stores down here. there will be carriage ride here in haddonfield later on today. fill up here, get your coffee and get your morning started off right and yeah, get some shopping done on small business saturday. we will send it back to you for now. >> banana walnut bread happen to make its way back to the station you would have some happy co-workers, alex, just putting the hunt out there. thanks very much, alex. 5:34. protesters hit the streets in chicago's highest even shopping district to draw attention to the police shooting of a black teenager. >> sixteen shots, 16 shots. >> marchers block store entrance as long magnificent mile shopping district. they want changes in the the chicago police department and city hall saying they mishandled investigation of the white office shore shot a black teen 16 times in 2014. that officer now faces first degree murder charges. >> we're saying what do we want to do is justice now. >> there have been report of the protest some stores were forced to close temporarily. there have been a few arrests, two for traffic related offenses and one for a battery related offense. police in burlington county are searching for a suspect they think shot and killed a store clerk on thanksgiving eve. matthew, was shock at quick and go convenient store on the 100 block of doctor martin luther king drive-in willingboro. police say he and the gun man walk out of the store together, before the shooting. officers found him later in the streets. >> he was a good guy, a hard working guy. he always wanted to work overtime to support his family back home. he had one daughter, in daughter. >> anyone with information is asked to call the the willingboro police department. in the wake of the fatal fire in nicetown thanksgiving day fire officials are making sure residents in the neighborhood have have working smoke alarms. "eyewitness news" in the 1900 block of north brunner street, that is where officials installed free smoke alarms and distributed home fire safety checklist. the authorities say that the home that caught on fire had no working detectors. france holds the national memorial service for 130 people who died in the paris attacks two weeks ago. the family was held in the court yam at invalid national man accused of jumping the white house fence on thanksgiving made his first appearance in court. 22-year old joseph caputo was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation wednesday. cbs news correspondent craig boswell has the latest. >> reporter: 22-year old joseph caputo appeared before a judge on friday on charges of entering restrict ground. those ground, just happened to be the white house. police say this is caputo wrapped in the american flag as secret service officers surround him on the north up lawn thanksgiving day. >> it is real quiet and i heard him take a deep breath. he
