the sweet spot for the heaviest snowfall totals for this event. s getting for example, no mixing of any kind, simply too cold for. that will depending on where you have the most intense snowfall rates, could you still end up with over half foot. that's going to go to the southern most counties. but as we just mentioned three, 4 inches already on the ground here at least in center city so we may tack on bit more to the totals before it is said and done, four to 6 inches the further south you travel south-central new jersey picking up on. that will but you're essentially getting gipped out of the heaviest snow the further north you g but still enough to create nuisance for everyone, i would say so safe travels, folks. be careful out there. now through the next hour or two, light to moderate steady snow will continue to fall, and then, as we wrap up your typical morning commute snow will be tapering, from west to east, it may be wrapping up little sooner, little later just depending on location, bus basically the closer to the shore the later will be ending for you. here's how it feels outside. cold right? basically not finding a terrible wind out there. but, we are essentially seeing i would say five to 10 degrees getting knocked off for your feels like values here based on what the actual air temperature s so still cold. isn't it bizarre that 28 degrees is actually easing up for us. yesterday was so much more harsh, but we are also thankfully going to see that snow ease up on us, so by the afternoon, yes we'll have clean to up do. it does appear as though we will have a chance to get rid of the snow. it will not re accumulate for you. that said, justin, live for us all morning long in the cbs-3 mobile weather lab on i95. how are the employs doing out on the a -- 95, justin? >> plows are out here certainly on 95, new castle county delaware near christianna, they're having hard timekeeping up with the snow. that's the problem. so roads have been consistently snow covered. there is no breaks. there is no bear spots. you have to go slow. delay morning commute if you k the problem is, it is so cold, 13 degrees, so we talk about those high snow ratios, which means, it takes less moisture to get more snow. this stuff just piles up quick. there is a lot of air. the snow's not coming down that heavy. but the plows are having tough timekeeping up. it is sticking instantly with no problems with these temperatures well below freezing. so good comfortable speed here on 9a we're going about 30, 35 but some people going little bit more than that. trying tories technically there, few cars spun off on the side of the road, looks like little activity up ahead could be just some salt crews out here. but you can see good crushed up half inch to 1 inch of snow out on height ways, this is like we've seen this everywhere all the way from pennsylvania through delaware. so if this this bad on the highways, you know side streets are bad. so keeping in here is maybe give yourself few extra hours this morning wait for the storm toned, then head outside when you can. that's the latest here in the cbs-3 mobile weather lab, we send it back in to you and jessica for a look at the traffic. >> definitely slow down is the word of the day. so 5:03, we go outside check out how things are doing out on the ben franklin bridge. >> this one is real important for us to show you so far. see roadways completely covered. as first-hand account as i actually came over the ben franklin bridge myself this morning, it is a mess, and it is slippery. so, 25 miles per hour if you can go slower than that i actually was going slower than 25 so we can see flashing speeds here, of 25 miles per hour, and all of the rest of the area bridges pretty much the same story so head in the or out of philadelphia, from new jersey, the betsy the watt, the ben the commodore barry, down to 25 miles per hour over in new jersey things looking okay. you can see roadways there completely snow covered as well. some volume in the northbound lanes, but all just crawling, and moving along slowly, that's he can actually what we want to see. just past that camera, though on the 42 freeway southbound, those are the lanes actually right-hand side with the least amount of volume just past route 55 actually an accident, pushed over into the shoulder and out in lansdale water main break greenwood between highland and frederick, take lansdale to get on by. back to you. >> new jersey state offices are opening at 11:00 a.m. this morning, because of the winter storm that's blanketing our area with snow. officials say that delay will give crews enough time to clear the roadways, parking lots and sidewalks. our team coverage continues right now with "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo over in clementon cam down county. good morning. >> reporter: erika, good morning, i was able to speak to someone who drove for 1 mile, pulled over to get a cup of coffee, and decided you know what, i'm if the going to work today. he has the luxury of not going to work. he turned right around and went back home. that's because it is snowing so steadily here in clementon camden county. this is what the ground will look like, we've got about two, possibly 3 inches of light fluffy snow right here. so fun for the kids, but not fun for the parents, and the adult, that have to go out in. >> this that's what the roads look like. this is the 400 block of south white horse pike, here in clementon. completely snow covered. and we haven't seen any plows out here for, i would say becomes 30 minutes. so the snow accumulating again on the roads. thankfully the cars are taking it easy. that's what you will need to do even on the highways. they don't look much better. some cars had their flashing lights on, very slow going new jersey do. it is out on the roads though, and plowing, so they are getting the work done it, cents just still coming down so quickly that they can't really keep up at this point. so of course you are going to have to pull out the shovels and brushes this morning, dig yourself out, hey, guys, good morning, dig yourselves out brush off your car build in a loft extra time if you do have it get on the road and go to work. live in clementon, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> jan, thanks so much. we switch things over you ukee, i think rode conditions are getting worse one the snow still falling. still coming down. and, two we're getting more people out on the roads so there is a competition for the lables getting out on the road. good 3 inches of snow here in south jersey, and all of the major roads are snow covered. there are any number every crews out but not able to keep up with the roads because the snow still coming down and conditions are slippery. watch out for the other guy trying to leave some spares. so we're doing about 30 miles an hour on route 42 right now. and i wonder if i should be going that fast. >> i hear you. speaking of which i had a couple of people passing me on the road about two hours ago coming in. that big bus going by you right now? >> yes i'm doing 30 right now, that was a bus that just blew by me on 42, and you can see, some other cars coming by too so people, they want to go faster than it is safe. but you can feel the trucks start to fishtail when you go any faster than like 30, 35. >> that's true. i did see one spin out. buddy slow your roll. we'll check back with you throughout the morning. thank you my friends. >> you're welcome. >> mike denardo "kyw news the plows are doing their best to keep one this, it is hard to keep one this casino of snow, when it is just re accumulating on you so lou one road, go back over it later. that snow continues to fall for one thing but falling and falling very efficiently. so, accumulates just that much more rapidly. now, just snow for everyone, as you know, simply too cold for anything but snow this time. storm scan3, hey at least there is back edge to there is very discontinuing back edge. stowe all starts to rotate away for us, we will likely see this wrapping up toward the tail end of the typical morning rush. now, that timing is less than ideal. but at least the second half of the day will have a chance to clean it up, get you back out for the second half of the day for the evening rush without anywhere near the casino every issues that we're currently fining it burr to ready to hit the road. still some pretty good snow falling, pretty decent rate. generally from i95 on south and east, even though the snow is falling that snow is lighting up, easing up what on the back edge with a little bit of drier air trying to get in here on the back edge, meanwhile still winter alerts to tell you about included here winter weather advisories posted for western chester, montgomery, upper bucks, across the border here in central new jersey, everyone else to the south all winter storm warning for you. how much are we talking here? you could even pick up to 9 inches through the southern most extreme southern most portion of new jersey and delaware more like three-6 inches further you get up toward 95. here's by 7:00 a.m. this morning, you may be done with it through the lehigh valley and west most suburbs then even new jersey done with it by nine and a.m. absolutely no later than lunchtime still finding maybe few lingering flurries here. but here's our exclusive eyewitness weather snowfall map. already hit three, four fins philly, might have to up these totals cents it is still snowing. through the course of the next few days, return to the arctic freeze coming courtesy of another front tomorrow. that will bring in some additional flurries or snow showers, but thankfully, jess, i don't think we have to worry about maybe any additional accumulation out of that. >> definitely, you for the teen pair of the morning definitely dealing speed restrictions going to the airport, however cents mass transit problems definitely starting off, listing things off for you right now just turning 5:14 actually the blue route right around ridge, south wound lanes, an accident, right up ahead into the right hand shoulder right there. you can see, some slow going even by that scene. roadways completely snow covered. warnings right here about speed restrictions, slowing down just in general all across the board. over on 95 right around cottman avenue surprisingly a lot of cars out so far for it being so early. maybe everybody's gettingly bit of a head start. definitely good thing still give yourselves extra time and space in front of the car in front of you. so headed southbound, you can see, already completely slow going toward the center city area. we do already have an accident out in new jersey on the 42 freeway southbound, just past route 55 that's pushed over into the shoulder. and, out for mass transit the septa buses are all on detour, pretty much. you can see the list of them right here. definitely check to see if europe @ expected by. that will new jersey transit running on time. currently on normal schedule with no problems. patco speed delaware, headed toward the canal, saint george's bridge. you can see snow covered roads here on route one, plows have been through, kind of pack down, good coating to half inch here. this is probably one of the better roads i've seen this morning, after leaving philadelphia, pretty terrible, delaware county, through new castle county 495. but still slow go here, very slick, speed couple of speed less than 40 miles per hour, you can see the truck passing us pretty good. keeping here is take it slow, allow extra drive time. 12 degrees right now so this snow is accumulating quickly even though the salt trucks and plows so use extra caution this morning, we send it back to the studio with erika. >> thank you, from justin drabick to just xfinity. out in manayunk, we want to check in and see
