those stories and more coming up. right now, let's check in with carol erickson, as we head into the weekend? what a difference a day makes, carol. >> oh, boy, i tell you what, we saw inches of rain at the shore, winds were unbelievable, everybody got into the rain. it was as gloomy, miserable day. today, no, not going to be finding weather like that today, fortunately, so we have completely turned the corner. and with a was supposed to have been all week, a really nice week, we did have that thursday speed bump with all of the showers and the rain and the wind. well, now we're back to what should and really great stretch of the next couple of days. and when i come back, i'll talk about some summer like temperatures, we'll find them pretty soon on the eyewitness weather seven day forecast coming up. >> carol, see now little built, thank you. in the news, fiery crash in philadelphia's kensington section. out of control car slams into a gas pump igniting the blaze. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us at the scene where one victim suffered severe burns. jan? >> ukee, erika, good morning, this certainly could have been a whole lot worse. that woman did suffer burns, was taken to the hospital, but she is in stable condition this morning. meanwhile, take a look at the damage left behind, coming to you live from the sunoco gas station in kensington, that gas pump is broken off, turned over, the accident here, ignited the fuel, sparking big fire, but the cars have been towed away at this point, if you take a look at the video, you can see, how bad this accident was, that burned out car and wreckage on scene. told the accident happened just before 11:30 last night at the corner of somerset and aramingo avenue. woman was here, getting ready to pump her gas, when another driver misstook the gases pedal for the brake pedal, and t-bonds the woman sitting at the pump. that caused a big fire. woman outside her car suffered second degree burns to her hands and legs taken to temple university hospital in stable condition. startled folks in the neighborhood. >> it is insane. you never know what's going to happen to you when you wake up in the morning, you're never too sure. and it is cents a scary thing, a scary thing to know that at any moment that could be it. >> now, the sunoco gas station behind me here in kensington doesn't open until 5:00 this morning, but i'm told that's normal, doesn't have to do with this accident. there is going to be major repairs, that gas pump still tipped over. >> this could have ban very serious accident, one woman, however, still in the hospital this morning, suffering second degree burns. we'll continue to bring you the latest, but for now, live in kensington, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". brought so much rain around here yesterday, but it is gone. so let's say good-bye to that. 56 degrees, it is cents cool out there this morning, you may have noticed that, if you left your windows open yesterday. if you left them open during the day, you probably have very wet windowsills this morning. 54 degrees in trenton, 56 wilmington, and 46 up in allentown, so we have some of the cooler air definitely filtering in. our temperatures today, oh, this is a nice day, 70 degrees, by the time we hit noon, and by the time we get to 3:00 p.m., we're looking at our high for the day, as high pressure builds in, 77 degrees, just feeling fantastic. and we have exactly 12 hours of sunlight today. the sun comes up, at 6:52, the sunsets at 6:52 tonight. and it is friday. that, in itself; good news. and we have cheers here in the studio. archbishop ryan playing against archbishop wood at 7:00, the game of the week, weather should be just fine, few clouds, cool evening, and temperature right around 62 degrees. but those temperatures will be dropping after that. so expect to find a night that's cool. as we take a look at the future weather, by 3:00 this afternoon, nothing going on. fortunately, we've had enough going on, and by the time we just roll this clock out until 1:00 tomorrow afternoon, looks absolutely beautiful. so, bassing in this picture, if you will, as we take a look at some really great weather. and now vittoria, how are the roads? >> not great, carol, i'll be honest with you. this morning dealing with something major, it is the closure of the blue route. traveling 476, northbound, at the schuylkill expressway, a very serious and very active accident scene. we're being told it is an overturned tractor-trailer accident, also, just below this lower third here, we're noticing a newspaper truck involved in the incident just up ahead, looks like that may even have lost a wheel. so if you are travel or trying to travel northbound 476 at the schuylkill you cannot. it is cents closed. as you will notice, weaver about six emergency teams on scene. police on scene, as well as debris in the roadway. the one advantage to this is that it happened so early, actually happened about 2:00 this morning, so now that it is 4:35, hoping that they'll get this cleared out of the way before the rush hour kicks on in. so, definitely going to want to use alternate at least for right now, that would be 476, excuse me, the schuylkill expressway, 202, to main street. so, once again, let's reiterate. blue route northbound closed, schuylkill to con so, who end, alternate, we will continue to keep you updated on the breaking news story as it continues to develop. we're taking you not far away from the area, more so around the king of prussia area. what you are looking at here, this is the 202 southbound ramp to the westbound side of 422. this is a disable tractor-trailer situation, as well, emergency teams on scene. so, not too far away between conshohocken and king of prussia, value two situations that may set you back this morning, the best thing did you was tuning into us so we can continue to keep you updated on that also to use the alternate we did providement you can move through to the westbound side of 422 even with the tractor-trailer out there. and in regards to the rush, everything pretty much still normal. we're waiting for the rush to come in when the sun comes up, mass transit, however, looking great. erika? >> torrey, thank you. new this morning, fire spreads to two row homes in chester, delaware county before firefighters are able to bring it under control. units were called to the 2800 block of test street just before midnight. they work for an hour to gain the upper hand. no injuries were reported. but one resident is receiving assistance from the red cross. the cause of this fire is under investigation. we are learning more this morning about kathryn knott, the woman charged in the attack on the same sex couple. the 24 year old emergency room tech has been fired from her job as lansdale hospital for posting what appears to be patient x-rays on her twitter page. knott and co-defendant philip williams and kevin harrigan were released thursday morning, after posting bail. a delaware family is left without a place to live after an out of control mini-van smashes into their house. look at the damage it did there. chopper three over darryl i rode in claymont last night. authorities say, the 34 year old driver, jason row and, ran away after that crash, but was later apprehended by officers. he was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. an eyewitness sitting at the traffic light there watched it all unfold. >> the most devastating accident i've ever seen, 5-foot in the air, over the handrail in front of the house, and spun around two times in the air in a split second. i mean, that's amazing. now, fortunately, the family was not home at the time. police say jason rowan faces multiple traffic violations including driving under the influence of drugs and leaving the scene after crash. >> septa is stepping up secure till after reports of new but unconfirmed plot by the islamic state to attack american subways. >> additional officers are on the transit beat this morning. iraq's prime minister described an isis plan to strike subways in the u.s., and france. but american intelligence officials reportedly had no information suggesting any specific plot. the fbi believes they have identified the mask man with the british accent shown on the videotaped isis beheading of american journalist, james foley, and steven sotloff, and british aid worker david haines. known only as jihad john, the fbi says they're not release g his real name nor his nationality. last month the guardian interviewed a former captive who said prisoners nicknamed a group of british militants the beatles, explaining the man in the tape was the one he knew as john. e-mail scandal involving at least eight high ranking pennsylvania officials, the state's attorney general kathleen cane has released information on slew of pornographic emails sent from state issued e-mail accounts between 2008 and 2012. knowledge of the emails surfaced months ago in harrisburg, after cane's inquiry into her -- how her predecessors handled the investigation of pedifile jerry sandusky. philadelphia did not responds to repeated warnings by last year's deadly building clapton market street. that's according to a new report from an independent advisory commission. report said l & i failed to follow up on multiple claims that the site was unsafe. the report also listed 36 recommendations, that included splitting l & i into two agencies. mayor michael nutter says he's not ready to investigating a possible firebombing. you can see the home on villanova court sustained damage on the fire floor, the call came out around 3:00 this morning, firefighters were able to quickly place the fire under control, the good news, no injuries, but again, police and firefighters are investigating on the scene. and that continues. well, more controversy surrounding the video of ray rice knocking out his then fiancee in atlantic city elevator. >> anonymous law enforcement official told the associated press he sent a copy that far video to the nfl head of security jeffrey miller back in april. now, if that's true, that would contradict league commissioner roger goodel repeated claims that the nfl had not seen this video until "tmz" published it earlier this month. miller has leaving, temperatures today in the 70s, in the 80s over the weekend, both saturday, sunday, lots every sunday shine, no reason to stop our future weather, just keep it going, because there is nothing really on the horizon at all, maybe by midday monday. temperatures way up in the 70s today, sunshine, # 5 degrees, tonight, next couple of days, not bad at all. we have temperatures that will be in end of the season. boy, big moment in the bronx last night, retiring yankees captain derrick jeter plays his last game at yankees stadium. of course jeter ends things in storybook fashion, he drove in three runs, capped off by a walk-off rbi single to give the yanks six-five win over the orioles. that is hit number 3,463 in the captain's hall of fame career. thursday night football right here on cbs-3, and the nfc east show-down was won by the giants in a blow out in d.c. eli manning through for 300 yards, and four touchdowns, ran for another, and the giants beat up washington, the final blue route right at the schuylkill, very serious crash, still extremely active, emergency teams on scene. what you are looking at here, one vehicle involved. another vehicle right here overturned, overturned new truck t has been uprighted. tow trucks on scene t does seem to be that they're making some progress. now, with that said, because of this closure, do you have take alternate. traffic right now being diverted on to the schuylkill so once you get there take 76 to 202, then jump on main street. that's your best idea right now. as we continue, we are taking you now to another scene not too far away, right around king every prussia. this would be the 202 southbound ramp to westbound 422. another tractor-trailer, disable situation, police are also on scene. one lane of traffic getting by, you can still access 422 westbound, but it will be just touch of a squeeze. good thing, we're not really dealing with volume right now. fifty your average on the schuylkill, 55 on 95, 55 on 476. no major problems for mass transit. and it seems that there aren't many problems at all for weather, and carol gets to deliver all of the good news. >> i think traffic is taking all of the problems today. early morning commute, smooth sailing-ville in the weather didn't. i want to show you something. this is a loop over the last couple of hours starting yesterday afternoon, after the rain was gone, it was still gloomy, as you can see, but it didn't stay gloomy for long. and you can see, the clouds, look at this, as this loops on, and there you go, kids are running around playing soccer, finally the skies clear, and we are left with great weather conditions. not only did they start last night, but they continue first thing this morning. we have that weather system, that brought all of this mess, it is right now, you can see, it is bothering cape cod. otherwise, we're going to be looking for lots of sunshine today, and we won't just hold it to today. we will be finding it the next couple every days, as well. fifty-six in philadelphia right now, 54 trenton, 56 degrees in wilmington. it is a cool start, our future weather stopped it at 3:00. there was no
