that humidity ramps up. all this moisture being built up that by the time we hit late afternoon storms we have been calling for, they will move in and because we have so much moisture they will probably dump some downpours on us. now, right the now it does look like the bulk of the activity is going to be confined off across the north and western suburbs. when i say that we are talking about heavier rain. storm scan three showing signs of life here. the northwestern, pennsylvania. kind of like what we saw yesterday as the warm front lifts through but eventually it will swing a cold front through our area so we will do have wet weather ourselves. we will break this down in a mina head, give you a sense of the timing and having else that comes with it. also how is the weekend shaping up. we are getting closer and closer. we will have a preview coming up. >> thank you. in the news and developing right now part of the heavily traveled road in montgomery county just reopened after it was damaged in a truck fire last night. >> yes "eyewitness news" reporter jen bernstein joins us from upper pottstown township with the very latest information, jen, good morning. >> reporter: great news for commuters, this a.m., we have the the northbound lanes here on route 100 reopened just after 4:00 a.m. they started removing the cones and again it will make travel for anyone in this area easier this morning. if this was closed it would be a huge inconvenience for a lot of people. we know right now you're looking at shoemaker road. closure started here and for 3-mile stretch all the way to state street, this road, north bound lanes again were closed yesterday because of a trash truck fire. we will go to some video, to show you aftermath of this fire. around 6:30, fire crews responded to the truck fire. this is more toward state road the area. people inside the truck were able to get out but fire fighters had a substantial fire on their hand. they were finally able to put flames out and toe the truck but there was damage to the road. two areas were created where the crash happened in the pavement. they had to do clean up and then bring in dumpsters to put away the trash that had spilled out on to the road. here's what the fire chief had to say about the fire. >> the truck trash caught fire between the cab and the rear of the truck. it is unknown what caused the fire. >> reporter: one upper pottsgrove fire fighter did suffer heat exhaustion and we don't know his condition this morning. but again we have good news here, we will have a route 100 north bound lanes reopened this morning just after 4:00 a.m. shoemaker road all the way to state street. that is the latest from pottstown, jen bernstein, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". 4:33. let's get back to katie. we have big changes. >> we have enjoyed sunshine and certainly the heat over last couple of days but you can tell that the humidity is out there just by the sky line. low cloud cover starting to drop in on us here over center city. this is the beginning of the moisture just building up, all in advance of the next cold front. we have showed you on storm can 3a second ago that we have wet weather to report off across northwestern, pennsylvania. locally still no issues, but just a matter of time. that is why i would highly suggest if you have a long day ahead of you, take your umbrella with you because you'll thank yourself later. morning rush looks fine. laters object today that wetter does start to move in. it does not appear that these storms will be locally severe but they will produce some heavy downpours. especially through our northern and western most counties outside of philadelphia that could lead to some flash flooding. if your travels are taking you perhaps toward state capitol or i80, that is where you'll end up with the heavy rainfall and it could lead to ponding on the area roadways. the let's talk dew points. i talk about this all the time, lower dew point, dryer the air. once you hit 65 it starts to feel steamy. it is feeling awfully steaming down across southern new jersey, and central delaware where due you points are in the 70's and even with these temperatures very close could pack some gusty wind but shouldn't be severe weather event but just a summer thunderstorm. we have been building up a lot of moisture in this atmosphere for a couple of down to one lane here aspen dot overnight putting down some new white lines, as you head southbound between betsy ross bridge and center city. right now only this one lane is opened, coming into turnpike they are working both directions right here near fort washington interchange. they are working both directions on the northeast extension right here near lansdale interchange and for the gang down the shore east on the atlantic city expressway right near the atlantic city airport watch for delays due to construction. for gang in delaware we have 495 close another between exit two and three but i-95 looking good and mass transit running with no delays. erika, back to you. waking up to this story this morning a house in camden, new jersey caught fire just after 11:00 last night. the it happened on the 600 block of cain avenue. blaze was quickly placed under control, we are told one person was injured, the cause of the fire was under investigation. latest in the rittenhouse rape investigation, detectives are checking to see if the suspect's dna is linked to unsolved rape cases in the area milton mateo garcia is charged with attacking a woman near 19th and spruce early saturday morning. in this surveillance video you can see garcia stalk and then grab the 26 year-old victim while she walk home. he is accused of forcing her into her apartment where he beat, raped her, and stole her keys and cell phone. it was that phone that helped police make the arrest. detectives said they found tonight garcia's south philly home at eighth and mother moore. >> the victim's phone gave us a location to that neighborhood but not the spec investigation. then the investigators began their extraordinary work and narrowed down the scope and targeted a resident at that location. >> federal authorities say garcia is an illegal immigrant who had been kicked out of the u.s.a. a year ago. police say a serial bank robber is behind bars this morning but it is the way police arrested him that makes this story. officers responded to the wells fargo at welsh and the boulevard tuesday afternoon. that is when police say the suspect robbed the bank and took off but it wasn't exactly your typical getaway. >> when police entered the septa bus they say i'm the the suspect. some of them matched the description of the bank robber. when they stopped this individual on the bus, they not only found the money, stolen from the bank but they found the tracking tea vice. >> police say a bank teller identified the suspect on that bus whom police say was not armed. the philadelphia section of the american society of the civil engineers will release the 2014 report card for the state's infrastructure. report is a year long assessment of things like roads, bridges, schools and even drinking water. the report is of particular interest after the graterford bridge in montgomery county closed last week due to structural issues. a hearing in trenton today in the lawsuit begins governor chris christie's pension plan. christie wants to fill a budget gap by taking 2.4 billion dollars from the state's pension system but this lawsuit filed by public workers union annes individuals said it is a violation of the state and federal constitution. governor adds he would rather cut pensions then raise taxes in new jersey. meanwhile governor christie will head down to haddon heights for his 122nd up to hall meeting. he is expect to talk about pension and health care reform. governor says there is no plan b if the courts rule begins his pension plan this morning's south east of where we are currently seeing precipitation. we are right on the edge of that. we are at 72 degrees at the airport. generally that is story around the board here lower 70's, cool spot, always tend to be is mount pocono but still in at 65. everybody is comfortable enough you can walk out with a jacket. i'm in the factoring in the humidity. 86 degrees is the spec high. eventually. even as earl as lunch hour we will see activity on the radar but it looks like it is toward evening and overnight that the heavier thunderstorms will be rumbling through here and they could produce pension plan. police arrested a suspect bank robber in northeast philadelphia less than a half an hour after he hit a wells fargo bank. investigators say he tried to hopped a septa bus to get away but city, right new come southbound in towards the city, two left lanes are opened as awe approach allegheny avenue but then after allegheny avenue you're push over to the right and eventually on to that new road surface. hopefully these cones will be up in the next couple of minutes or so and we will be back to somewhat three or four lanes here rolling south in towards center city. lets go to the schuylkill expressway where we began project last night, resurfacing of the 422, 202 ramps to the schuylkill they have pick up the cones and they are gone, you can see that in the overnight in the next couple weeks. schuylkill looking good into downtown, in problems, coming out of the suburbs, heading in towards king of prussia we have a down pole outside of hamilton square route 33 off of i295 and 495 still closed here between exits two and three and dart running with 20 minute delays in the city of wilmington during the height of the rush hour. katie, i remembered from yesterday you said we have some rain on the way today. >> indeed, we do and it is out there across portion s of the keystone state. it is not here yet and we are building up the moisture content at this point and you can just tell that there is cloud cover, out there, not terrible haze just yet but we will feel sticky too, over center city looking over ben franklin bridge. it is dry, for new but that will change with time. lets go next to the wider zoom, we have seen a few lightening strikes with these thunderstorms overnight but not here yet. just time. later in the afternoon that really we will start to get
