>> doesn't look like the fog will be as much of a problem. not as thick as yesterday w that said, we're on pace to see another warm day. storm scan quiet. few clouds rolling through, across southeastern pennsylvania, did help bring in very, very light smattering of showers through yesterday evening and into the overnight. generally again with nice clear sky across new jersey, delaware, and a very, very modest winds flow. it is a nice start to the day. look at reading. fifty-eight already. now, granted, it is 4:30, still have few hours before the sun will come up. temperature very likely to drop off at least few more degrees, but at 53 at philadelphia international airport. normal high, still 46 degrees. so, the fact that we're already off to such mild start, you can only imagine where we will ends up today. another very warm afternoon, expected here, we're going to shoot for 72 degrees here in philadelphia with a partly sunny sky, shore and mountains, as women, even in the poconos, 67 degrees today. so very, very warm day. again, with some sunshine, and if it was anything like yesterday afternoon, a great excuse to be outside. meisha? >> no doubt about it, all right, katie, thank you for. that will looking outside right now at the vine. it is closed overnight for the construction project between the schuylkill and broad, looking dark, quiet this friday, and usually all clears, right around 5:00 a.m., see if it does again today. right now what you are working with. dark, quiet, closed down on the vine, also some construction here, looks like it might have been moving on, 42 northbound creek road. we had intermittent lane closures for awhile it looked actually very backed up. looks like a good indicator the construction moving out of the way there. construction walt whitman bridge eastbound as well, two lanes are open. 25-mile per hour restrictions, not because of the fog we saw yesterday. due to the construction, more coming up in just a little built, jim, rahel, back to you. >> thank you so much, meisha. breaking news this morning, hotel goes up in flames in vineland, new jersey, as crews search for anyone who could be trapped inside. >> "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live at the ramada in. what do we know so far? >> reporter: rahel, jim, this is very big fire it, started right around 2:00 this morning, and when we arrived on the scene, 90 minutes later, at 3:30, it was still raging out of control. we arrived at the scene with flames shooting out of the roof of this building. you can see behind me, live this morning, that fire crews remain on the scene. they've seemed to get this fire under control. but they are still working on the roof there as it smolders this morning. also, on your screen, taking a look at viewer video. this is a great picture about what fire crews were fighting when they first arrived on the scene with flames also shooting out of the top of the building. now, again, we are told that this fire is finally under control. there are dozens of firefighters on the scene. multiple ladder trucks, and ems. fortunately, at this point, there are no reported injuries. but, this is still a developing story, and we are awaiting a update from fire officials this morning. now, this is the ramada inn, 2200 block every west landsis avenue. more than 30 rooms inside this building. i was able to speak to number of people who were staying here over night, including a mother able to get out safely with her two kids and grandchild, just a baby. people that were staying here at this hotel were sent next-door to neighboring hotel, so they're able to get out of the cold this morning. that's where we caught up with candice martinez, who has been staying at this ramada inn for some time. she went out for few minutes and came back to nothing. >> i went to the store around 20 minutes, came back, and there are flames coming from the top and right above our room, our whole room is just done, gone, everything burnt, everything i own is in there. >> everybody was out. asking for everybody's name, making sure everybody was out of their room. yes, everybody was out thankfully. >> so that's candice martinez, she was staying at this ramada in. went out, came back, she said, all of her belongings were inside a lot of people facing that reality this morning. again, still awaiting word from fire officials here on scene understandably they've been very busy, finally does look like they're getting a handle on this fire. obviously, much too early to determine a cause of this fire. but, martinez says, there were smoking rooms on the back of this building. so that's something to keep in mind. so we're looking for a cause of this fire. we want to know a update about if all of the resident were able to get out. but, at this point, again, there are no reported injuries. for now, reporting live in vineland, jan carabeo, cbs-3 "eyewitness news." >> we'll look forward to your later report. thanks so much, jan. >> new developments over night in the hit-and-run in kensington. "eyewitness news" has learned police found the car suspected of being involved. they are however still searching for the driver. it happened here on 29,000 block every east clearfield street 7:30 last night. victim left a corner store hit feet from his front door, now listed in critical condition. >> new this morning, man killed after attempted robbery turns deadly in chester. police say the victim was picking up his girlfriend at her house on the 2600 block of boil street, just after 10:30 last night. she stepped outside to see her boyfriends involved in a altercation, with another person, and she then witnessed the suspect shoot her boyfriend, in the head. >> in montgomery county, former police officer is facing a slew of charges after a road rage incident. >> right. it happened saturday night on the 1900 block of second street in upper gwenned. that is where police seo end farmer, who you see on your screen there, fired three shots into bmw after his stepdaughter allegedly had an altercation with someone in the car. now, inside the bmw was mother, father, 15 year old daughter, one of those shots injured the 15 year old. farmer charged with assault, wreckless endangerment, a member of the upper gwenned police department from 2,000 to 2009. >> police in wilmington continue investigating attempted sexual assault in brandywine park, 28 year old woman out for run said she was attacked at about 7:30 wednesday night. the man pushed her to the grounds, and when he tried to assault her, she fought him off. the suspect ran from the scene, the woman was not seriously hurt. and in new jersey, gloucester township police released this sketch of the man wanted for attempted kidnapping, accused of trying to pull a woman into his suv on may apple road machine day night when she screamed he let her go. officers think he's driving a new model white suv possibly a bmwx1 or x3. >> well, rooftop fire spreads to building in gloucester county, chopper three was overhead as flames consumed a building under construction in old man creek road, logan township. five started just before 6:00 last night. firefighters battled the blaze for almost three hours to get it under control. good news: no injuries. the suspect in the shooting of two washington dc police officers has died after also being shot. both officers are in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. the shooting happened before 11:00 last night, while the officers were patrolling in the city northeast neighborhood, and city councilman said more needs to be done about gun violence. >> no community should have to live like this. this gun violence is really discouraged on our city. the officers, my thoughts, are with them. and we really need to put in place solutions to stop this violent. this is just unacceptable. >> now there is shooting comes after four men were shot and three separate shootings in southeast dc. >> well, president trump has a big day ahead of him. he will be taking stage at vandalizing jewish cemetery in st. louis, a muslim man from philadelphia stepping to up help with repairs, take a look, tariq received hundreds of messages from jewish americans who have relatives burried at the cemetery, so he vowed to raise $20,000 to help rebuilds. but he had no idea just how quickly he would reach that goal. >> we thought, you know, maybe it would take a day, two days, three days, i mean, we had the campaign listed for as a 30 day campaign. it was supposed to last a month. we ended up hitting the goal in under three hours. >> how about this? celebrities including jk rawling and ellen degeneres even pitched in helping with the fundraising effort. so far the fundraiser has collected more than $120,000. >> well, after being trapped by california flood waters for days, dozens of horses are now on dry land. total of 28 horses were stranded when a stream jumped it banks near san jose this week. they were led out through a back gate, the waters still too high at the front. the tricky job, after they're done with that, the horses will need a change of shoes. >> they get nervous, and they get really anxious, and they kick and buck and do things, and so it can likely some heavy rain and gusty thunderstorms for the second half of the day. then by sunday, just back to what should be more like what we find in the tail end of february here. meanwhile, we do have clouds that have been rolling in across pennsylvania, not really much to report otherwise, i haven't seen much in the way of any kind of major fog issues so far, that's very good. but may be few patches of it, since the winds is still light. but with that said, see things really starting to get their act together across the northern high planes here, especially the midwest, very heavy snow currently falling as well as ice, rain, we are looking primarily actually only at rain and thunderstorms by the time the cold front that will move through gets here. so we jump to tomorrow high noon. there will be a lot more clouds cover tomorrow. not quite the bright sunshine like we saw yesterday afternoon or like we will see here today. there will be a few clouds, perhaps as a stray shower through the course of the morning, but this is what's going to trip you up. if you have outdoor plans, i would keep them, just late afternoon, and toward evening, you will be dodging rain and thunderstorms. at the moment, not worried about severe weather. there could definately be very strong gusts out of this, it looks about 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 at night philly get hit, maybe early evening dinner plans, keep an eye out, get the umbrella ready to go. >> this clears out off the coast rapidly by 8:00 p.m. pretty much at the shore line, by midnight it is all long gone. look at the temperature change in the last 24 hours. allentown, specially, 21 degrees, milder at this hour. as it translate to the thermometer off to mild start here, even in mount pocono. it is 51 degrees at this hour, in february, now, as the days progress, yes, back it reality, folks, especially come sunday. but we quickly rebounds back to the six 60s already, by tuesday, meisha. >> i don't think i've road closed between orchard and route 55. you will have to use that alternate. almond road is your best bet. then talking a lot of construction, walt whitman bridge eastbound two lanes are now open. 25 miles per hour. you have dropped down to. and this isn't because of the fog as we saw yesterday, this is actually because of the construction, then more construction, in new jersey, 295 north, looking ahead, pretty substantial change, at the moment, storm scan nice and quiet here locally. few clouds across southeastern pa, movement in the clouds as women. don't have terribly strong wind at the moment. perhaps you see a little bit of fog. it shouldn't be anywhere near socked in as yesterday was, though. so, we are on pace to climb perhaps even more on the thermometer, than we did yesterday, it is very likely, in fact, but the winds at the moment generally out of the south. it will stay either south or southwesterly all day today. that sends us on pace to hit 72 degrees, folks, maybe a little higher. we'll see how we do. but zero seven is the expectation saturday. again though potent cold front crosses through, afternoon, early evening, i would say between the window of four p.m. to 8:00 p.m. gust to eels. gusty thunderstorms along the line. if you have outdoor plans heads up. by the time we hit sunday, yes, dramatic change, a lot colder obviously, the sun comes back, and it. at the moment i haven't found any field cameras that look really all of that hazy, i've been looking at the visibilities, they look pretty good. so still going to allow for it here, but, it is not going to be socked in like it was yesterday. and as we take a look outside in our live neighborhood network, you can actually see the skyline for a change. yesterday, even from close-up you couldn't make it outlet alone on this.
