Fire commissioner adam thiel says fire crew as arrived to the 1700 block of taylor within minutes of this fire and they found two story home a blaze, and had word of one man trapped inside. He is described as an elderly man. We know that he was found on the first floor of his home and that he later died of his injuries. Investigators are working to determine where in the home that fire broke out the overnight, and if this home had working smoke alarms. The commissioner and response to this fire as hercules this fire brought 11 Fire Companies and 40 Fire Fighters and medics and other fire personnel to the scene. New this morning a Philadelphia Police car has front end damage after driver of the 2009 altima backed into the car during a traffic stop and took off. It happened just before 1 00 near Graduate Hospital at 21st and carpenter street. No officers were injured but both cars were damaged.
