And the story of well share will focus specifically on stem or Science Technology engineering and mathematics education. Meteorologist, kate bilo. It is no secret that i love science. Remember me, the kid in the softball dugout reading her biology book . Well, i am thrilled to be leading the way in the debut of our very cool einstein Healthcare Science center. To focus on Stem Education is very important in philadelphia. Any other place in the United States because 70 of future jobs will require stem, thats science, technology, engineering, or meat. Why focus on stem in philadelphia . First of all, science in the industry. Philadelphias kids live in a city rich in science history. Teaming with innovation and technology. We here at cbs3 along with our partners at Einstein Health and the Franklin Institute are thrilled to be a part of that. Why are stem skills so important for todays kids . They are the foundation. Studies show that one of the best ways to get kids interested in science is to allow them to participate in hands on experiments and activities. Make science come alive. Having someone like kate bilo talk about really cool things when she is on television, having educators here at the Franklin Institute make science accessible, make it come active, amazing, not only keeps the kids excited but shows them the possible carreers from healthcare to basic Science Research to to meteorology, to everything inbetween. What i tell my son is to really work hard, get a good foundation, and that foundation there can lead him to do exciting things, in several direction. Student like Catherine Smith and matthew millgan already see the benefit of stem research. One to be a mechanical engineer, very important to have a good foundation, and at the Franklin Institute, very good Solid Foundation to build off of for my career. I feel like there is a lot of problems in Todays Society that can be fixed using stem princes, like at early age if student arent learning stem, they can be more prepared for the challenges of the future. Entire Eyewitness News and weather team looks forward to reporting from the Science Center each week. If your school or organization has a great stem story to tell, just let us know on twitter, facebook or instagram. Using cbs3 stem. Cbs3 Science Center sponsored by Einstein Healthcare network more than medicine. Eye did you notice the dress Melania Trump wore during the National Convention on monday . A lot of people because it sold out. It cost 2,200, was actually designed as a Wedding Dress for modern bride. The cotton and silk dress was made by a serbian design here is now based in london. Was part of yugoslavia, along with slow vein ya, where mellen ya trump is originally from. I knew the dress would make headlines, it always does. Always. Jim, your suits sell out. I try, i try. Gq magazine, here i am. Yes. What are you looking at me for . All right, ill with this forecast, it is a beauty outside right now, after the show head on out, enjoy it, nice weather to take advantage, mid july, dont see it too often, temperatures low mid 80s, low humidity, we take you outside down to the shore, great looking beach day. People taking advantage of it, im jealous right now, in the sun, had couple of showers, very early this morning, but now breaking out to the sunshine, nice little breeze off the ocean today, ocean, little cooler, upper 60s right now off the coast of new jersey, but still feels pretty good with the full sunshine, got to throw the sun black on today for sure, people enjoying nice day on the beach. Spots up to the mid 80s at the airport in philadelphia, 70, feeling good in mount pocono. So, great conditions up in the mountains, nice almost cool pocket of air over the upper great lakes, alpena michigan 79 degrees, 81 cleveland, cooler air continues to set up over the midatlantic and northeast for about another 24 hours, before we start to see the change. High pressure dominating our area, so you can see mainly sunny skies, you can add few clouds from time to time. No threat of any showers or storms coming in any time soon. We could use little rain though, it has been dry past several days. This afternoon great at the shore, sunshine tomorrow, 83, heats up little bit on thursday, or on friday even along the coast, we will be upper 80s little more humid as well. Here is the reason. High pressure over us right now, thats coming in from canada. That bridges the cooler air mass, once it starts to move off shore, we see return flow out of the southwest, so start bringing the heat back in here specially on friday humidity increases, stray shower friday, but mostly keep things nice and dry. To the weekend start to see serious heat, forecast highs, upper 90s, saturday, sunday, even into monday. Saturday, close, record high is 98 for sunday, and 96 on monday, so these could easily be broken, so second half of the weekend stays hot. So, highs in the upper 90s, elevated humidity, seem more like 100 to 105, with heat indexes obviously take it easy, drunk water, hear the moans and groans already from jim. You can bet on that, no problem there. Sunny, comfortable today, 86 degrees, tonight it is still pleasant, upper 60s for the city, some 50s out in the suburbs, keep the windows open again if you want, felt pretty good. So tomorrow, it does warm up to 89. This is increase in humidity, not bad, then gee to 94 friday. More humidity, maybe late day shower, then it is the upper 90s on saturday and sunday, and 95 on monday, that might even be generous, could be hotter than that, some of the heat still holds, so another heatwave to deal with. That will be the fourth of the season. Now, last week we met some great kids, who may get to do what dow for a living when they grow up. We help kid caster, in easton, and now here is a look at some of our favorites. I want to be a cbs3 kid caster, it will be interesting and a lot of fun. Heres todays weather.
