A woman was seriously injured after she was struck by a dirt bike in pleasantville. This Surveillance Video shows the moment she was hit. It happened when she was standing at the intersection of main street and west jersey avenue. She was rushed to atlantic care Regional Medical center. The biker got away on foot. If you have any information, you are asked to contact police. Police are also asking for the publics help to identify the atv driver accused of injuring two officers. They saw the atv driver tampering with equipment at a gas station and the suspect pulled away and while doing so hit one officer in the face with the door of her patrol car then knocking down the detective. A dog tied up outside for hours, if not days on end. Now this new law seeks to cut that chain. He was called butch the junkyard dog and he was out all the time. Reporter theres a name for others like butch. Theyre called chain dogs. A dog is a highly social animal and theyre not lawn ornaments. They need interaction and for me to think about a dog tethered 24 7, i believe its cruel. Reporter so does the state of new jersey. Under a new law signed into effect this week, dogs can no longer be chained or tethered outside overnight between the hours of 5 00 p. M. And 10 00 a. M. If a chain is out during the day they must be chained to a light rope or chain 15 feet long and have access to water and sufficient shelter. Four walls, a roof, a floor. Youre going to have to clean up debris. You cannot have your dog tethered for longer than 30 minutes unless youre present. Reporter Janice Fisher worked closely with the effort to see this bill through. She says while the law goes into effect immediately, dog owners will be given a chance to adjust. This is not just going to be violations and fines. Theyre going to get a warning. And its mandated in the law. So then you have a certain number of days to correct that. Reporter most of this law does go into effect immediately. But for residents who do keep their dogs out overnight, they have 180 days to find a safe alternative for that. Residents in one philadelphia neighborhood are concerned after finding pigeons shot with below darts. Yesterday a man found a pigeon with a dart beneath its neck. This is the second bird injured recently by a dart in this part of time. Animal cruelty officers say acts like these are happening frequently. If ever there is a situation with wild animals trying to adapt to their surroundings and a class between people and animals often times the animals are subjected to a level of cruelty. He plans to take the bird to a rehab center. He hopes people see this pigeon and think twice about harming any animal.
