Reporter quiet outside Chews Landing pumping station in gloucester township but around 3 00 in the afternoon there was a hazmat situation here. A power outage in the area caused the pumping station to lose power and spill sewage. County reported at least a thousand gallon of sewage leaked in the nearby creek. That sewage spilled over a two hour period until the crew could get to the pumping station and power the pumps with a generator. Residents in the area received robo calls from camden count inn Municipal Utility Authority telling them about the situation and warning them not to swim or fish in the water. There was no impact, tap water in the area as the creek is not a source of Drinking Water power has been restored to the pumping station and everything is, back to normal at this hour.
