the same area. >> the terrifying attacks happened in wilmington. last week a woman was kidnapped at the top of the hill apartments and just last night another kidnap be ring at the arrundel apartments. >> reporter: we can tell you that we have seen a heavy police presence here at the arundel apartments and police are urging residents to stay on guard throughout newcastle county delaware. >> this incident appears to be related. >> reporter: a masked suspect has struck again. the latest incident happened sunday at 7:45 p.m. at the arundel apartments. police say the victim was heading inside her building. >> she was approached by a male in the common area of our apartment building. the man was wearing a black mask, dark clothing and brandishing a handgun. once inside he demanded money. the suspect physically and sexually assaulted a victim. >> reporter: she was forced back outside to the car where he drove her to several atms to withdraw money. >> it bothers me because i've always felt so safe here. >> i was surprised. it's safe back here. it's quiet. i was really surprised that it happened again. >> reporter: these neighbors are still reeling from a similar attack last week linked to the same suspect here at the top of the hill apartments in wilmington. >> are we more aware of our presence? yes. we're parking closer to our building. we're checking around before we get out. >> we will have increased patrols throughout many of our communities. >> reporter: these attacks have police urging residents to stay on high alert. >> be aware of your surroundings. don't be distracted by texting or being on your phone. >> reporter: the suspect is described as a male 5'8" to 5'10" with a thick accent he has worn a mask. there is up to a $20,000 reward in this case. natasha brown, cbs3 eyewitness news. >> there's been another rooftop break-in in montgomery county and this time the thief targeted a deli. police say the crime may be related to a similar breakin at the costco at king of prussia. >> reporter: just contact, police are looking at surveillance video hoping that it will give detectives a lead. authorities say this is not your typical burglary and they are not dealing with your typical criminal. the deli was the scene of a mysterious crime last week involving a suspect and a rope. police say this man didn't break a window to get in. he climbed on the roof and rappelled in through this vent. >> when you own a business and your neighbor, my turn is next or what. >> reporter: in the surveillance video the suspect tries to open the office door with a claw hammer. he stole cash and a hand gun similar to this one. the criminal pattern sticks out to investigators because on february 6th someone broke into this costco in king of prussia to steal jewelry and they did it by rappelling 40 feet through the roof through a sky light. the suspect used this rope. authorities are investigating if both cases are related. >> he sfoted the whole area to know where to get in and use the ladder and get out. >> reporter: detectives on the costco case say that their suspect has experience with climbing. that's the upper marion police department. if you have information on either case call them or the hatfield police department. david spunt, cbs3 eyewitness news. >> police need your help to identify the man seen here. authorities want to question him because they say he was seen on february 12th shortly before 4:30 in the morning on the 700 block of south fourth street. video shows the suspect trying to open vehicle doors. a short time later he was seen running from a fire. if you recognize him, call police. >> a man is hospitalized tonight. he was found left for dead more than two days after he was beaten in his home. police are looking for two men that they say are responsible for the friday night home invasion. the victim was working in his garage with the garage door open. two masked men walked in, one had a gun. police say the suspects beat and pistol whipped the mayor. he has a broken nose, fractured bones in his face and injuries to his arms and legs. >> president trump has tapped a man with ties to our area to be his next national security adviser. >> i just wanted to announce, we've been working all weekend very diligently, very hard that generally h.r. mcmaster will become the national security adviser. he's a man of tremendous talent and tremendous experience. >> you heard the present there. the pick was born in philadelphia in 1962 and graduated from valley forge military academy in 1980. he earned a doctorate from the university of north carolina and is currently the director of the army capabilities integration center. a sort of military think tank. today we talked with mcmaster's father. >> i'm very proud of him and he has never disappointed anybody that knows him or he ever started with. and he has been a real blessing and he'll do wonders for i hope the country in his efforts in this job. >> he replaces michael flynn who resigned last week. defense secretary touched down for an unannounced visit in baghdad today. as the battle to push isis militants out of mosul entered a second day. he expects american troops to remain for quite a while. the four month flight has -- >> the philadelphia district attorney just got another candidate. he announced his run earlier today. just days after stepping down this first deputy district attorney. during today's press conference outlined an ambitious plan to end mass incarceration and overhaul the probation system. he is the sixth democrat in the race. >> it's an illness caused by certain kinds of exercise and it's often mistaken for muscle soreness. but if it's not treated quickly, it can lead to life-threatening organ failure. health reporter stephanie stall has more on how it hit a delaware county woman at the worst time imaginable. >> reporter: a wedding that almost didn't happen. days before the nuptials, she ended up in the hospital. >> i was hysterical. i was crying. >> it was very scary. at first i'm thinking oh, my god. she's dying. >> reporter: it was after a challenging spin class when things started going hey wire. >> i never thought something like that would happen to me. i've played sports my whole life, i've done intense training, all that. >> reporter: nikki who was a soccer player suddenly developed a condition that strikes athletes. it's sometimes mistaken for the flu or just soreness after a workout. >> we see it after usually intense exercise. >> reporter: it's called rhabdo rhabdomye lysis. >> it starts out with sore and weak muscles and then there's swellness. >> it was from my knees to under my waist were ten times their size. >> reporter: nikki got the standard treatment, iv fluids to remove the toxins, but her levels weren't going down fast enough. >> it got to the point i might not be going to the wedding and i couldn't handle it anymore. >> reporter: the staff decided to surprise nikki with a rehearsal dinner at the hospital. >> the hospital did an amazing job. >> and on the day of the wedding, the hospital did something else. they let nikki leave for a few hours. how unusual is it that you relieve somebody temporarily? >> it was the right thing to do. >> reporter: she didn't feel good, but nikki got married as planned. >> i couldn't really walk, stand for a long period of time. you dream about it your whole life and you can't even dance. >> reporter: after the wedding on new year's eve, nikki went back to the hospital for more iv therapy. and now that she's recovered and happily reminiscing about the wedding, nikki says she's worried about working out again. >> i didn't feel any pain, i didn't feel anything when it was happening until afterwards. so how do i know it's not going happen again. >> reporter: doctors say the syndrome is rare and that working out is beneficial. there's really no way to pro vent rhabdomyelysis except to stay hydrated. >> as people do cross fit and cycling classes, i think we have to be certainly more aware of it and help people understand the consequence. >> reporter: lessons
