"eyewitness news" reporter alex hoff was at the 22n 22nd diss where it all happen. >> reporter: family, friends and badged brothers and sisters used this anniversary as an opportunity to celebrate a life well lived. >> i really think just remembering his personality, his passion, how alive he was is like it has kept us going. >> i was one of those guys that was going everywhere a hundred miles an hour. he told me to slow down and watch what i'm doing. >> reporter: damien stevenson was working with his partner when officer robert wilson was shot in the game stop store one year ago. >> march 5th around this time i was crying like baby. still had to do the job. >> the sadness of him going into the store to buy a birthday brent for his son's birthday i think it's tomorrow his valor in moving the shooters away from the customers at the counter and basically giving his life for others. >> mayor kenney was on city council test officer wilson's murder. and in the 365 days since has immersed himself into the complicated cause of fighting elite guns. >> i know people don't want to hear that but in urban environment we live in this is not a rural viewer many about hunting and sportsmanship. it's about murder and mayhem. >> reporter: mirroring this anniversary the wilson family was dealt another blow. they tell "eyewitness news" that another family member police major greg barney south native who moved to georgia was killed last month. shot in the line of duty. >> still rocks the family still a family member it's still an officer. a person, an official that deserves his life. >> major greg barney was a 25 year veteran of the riverdale police force. reporting from the 22nd district headquarters alexandria hov, cbs3 "eyewitness news". a suspect arrested after unmark police car was struck by gunfire in frankford is now facing charges. the incident happened on the 5300 block of hedge street last night. police say 21-year-old malik smith fired several shots that hit the car's bumper and pierced the radiator. an officer had two suspects from narcotics arrest in the rear of the unmark car. police initially arrested two men but the second man was cleared during the investigati investigation. also tonight school officials in upper darby are apologizing for this photo of students wearing clue clucks clan uniforms in a classroom. the picture which was tape in the 2014-2015 school year is now going viral. superintendent richard dunlap sent out a letter last night calling it a school project that went awry. he said it was a exit designed to highlight atrocities of the of the confident kkk from the 19 20's and the district is deeply sorry. >> a former eagles defensive back who plays for the jackso jacksonville jaguars was equipped lapped late last month in north carolina. earl wolf was taken at gun point in the early morning hours of february 23rd. wolf had been visiting a friend's home and was walking to his car when a group of armed men grabbed him and forced inside a vehicle much police say wolf was only held captive for a short time. he was not armed. wolf was a 2013, fifth round pick of the eagles. he played here for two seasons before moving to jacksonville just last year. tonight yale university's men's basketball team defeated columbia clinching the bug dog first ncaa tournament berth since the kennedy administrati administration. but all is certainly not well on the campus in new haven connecticut. yale is without its captain senior guard jack monahue and unexplained departure has embroiled this ivy league university in controversy. yale bulldog senior guard jack monahue withdrew from the school on february 10th. they sent out a press release saying he was not be returning. a yale spokesman would not say why monahue left despite campus rumors of a sexual assault accusation. >> in a new haven register article this week the player's father jim monahue said his son was expelled he recall it ridiculous and said he has strict orders from his lawyers not to talk. monahue's teammates are also standing by their captain wearing t shirts with his nickname at a recent game. that move sparked outrage on campus and posters demanding the basketball stop supporting a rapist. new haven police have no cases involving monahue and no victims have come forward. we tried to each him and his lawyer but did not get a response. the player has not spoken rub lickly since he left the university. in an interview last may he said he embraced being a team leader. >> we had a good season this past year and nothing too out of hand. >> yale's administration is being tight lipped, yale's women's center is not. >> in a lengthy facebook post they wrote "sexual violence is a problem in every campus community and that yale's actions speak. louder than its words. ". >> a yale dean sent out an e-mail to students today saying he is committed to providing a safe campus. also, talks are currently underway to head off a strike by new jersey transit rail workers. officials representing new jersey transit and the rail workers union met with mediators in washington yesterday. a union official called the day long session productive and said both sides moved a little and will meet again on monday in new jersey. the cost of the health care benefits is the main sticking point a strike deadline has been set for next weekend. part of point breeze neighborhood was evacuated today. all because of an underground fire. it happened on the 1400 block of point breeze avenue at around 6:00 o'clock this morning. firefighters rushed to the scene and extinguish the flames in two hours. fortunately, no one was injured. underground service electric line was damaged and still unclear how long it will take to get that fixed. now, all over the country high school students looking i was they had to college. they sat down to take the sat tests today and this year it's a little different the test. the sates have been modified to focus on more practical areas of math. the test also moved away from obscure vocabulary words to focus on the use of relevant words in context and there's no more penalty for guessing. the sat is administered by the college board of private no non-profit that helps stream line the path to higher education. and new tonight local children learn a very special lesson as they gear up for march madness. dozens of kids competed in a basketball tournament at the greater plymouth community center in montgomery county. the kids learned not everyone must be the star of the games and just go out on the court haven't fun. the event was america. >> the best year i've seen yet report roar this year's theme celebrates 100 years of the national park service. >> i love it. it's all about america. especially being an election year. >> reporter: the theme means more to susan dolan with the national park service for almost 20 years. she says she wants those who attend the flower show to remember the importance of national park preservation. >> the national parks are for them. they are their national parks. and we are their servants and the stewards of national parks. >> reporterparksreport not everk should be represented at the flower show but many of the colorful designs are still sprawled across the pennsylvania convention sent. >> there are more than 50 main exhibits here at the philadelphia flower show and you can really see how much time and detail has gone into creating each one of these exhibits. we're staning in the middle of one inspired by the red woods in california the most special and unique part of the this exhibit being this chandler tree. organizers at the pennsylvania horticultural society say the annual week long event draws in more than a quarter million people every year. one of them apparently has learned a new trick that would be how to drive a semi truck. customers at a minnesota gas station saw a golden laboratory retriever at the wheel of the big rig just before it crash. now that truck hit a tree and a parked car. but luckily the dog wasn't hurt. no worries. and neither were any people. the driver had left the unoccupied truck running in nearby parking lot. it's not clear it doesn't lot of moisture with it. you can see these snow showers are really almost starting to fizzle as they move toward us. i think there is pretty good shot that these could just completely die out before they even really reach our area, but we do have the chance for a straight snow shower around this evening and tonight. so temperatures right now, it's chilly. 36 in philadelphia. it's only 29 in allentown. 22 in point neck poe and 26 in millville if you feel what the 20's feel like head outside right now the last time we'll feel them for quite sometime. we go above average starting on monday and temperatures will be above normal really through the vast major of the seven day forecast. so we're in the 40 today's. 40s again tomorrow with that morning snow shower as that system scoots off the coast tomorrow afternoon. then we will see the sun return. high pressure then takes control and with that high planned off the coast we'll be tapping into warmer air from the south and west. and that is really going to start this noticeable warmup. in fact we hit 60 degrees on monday and it gets even warmer from there. what to expect overnight into your sunday morning? scattered rain and snow showers again much of the area may not see anything at all they'll be here and there. between mainly midnight and 9am we gradually clear thing out and does turn mostly sunny for your sunday and
