It is a sad story even though the 24yearold suspect is behind bars tonight, the investigation continues. Hes not responding. Reporter a frantic mother said her son was badly beaten and no longer breathing. Is his chest rising and falling. No. Its not doing anything. Reporter Police Officers were called to this home saturday night around 11 30. The toddler was rushed to the hospital where he was pro nensed dead after midnight. Reporter authorities are not naming the little boy or his mother but say her boyfriend, 24yearold zachary killed the boy. He was there when the mother called 911. He even talked to a dispatcher who instructed him to give the little boy cpr. Reporter zachary is facing a first degree murder charge. When a life ends prematurely is sad, but to find out the way it did, thats bottom of the barrel. Its gut wrenching. Put things in perspective for you. Jerry sandusky will be back in court too many for day three of a hearing where hes seeking a new trial. His attorneys are expecting to question the prosecutor who helped convict him in 2012. Testimony today focused on only one issue, whether the state in 2012 knew who victim number 2 was. Thats the attorney who represented victim number 5 said there was a remote possibility that sandusky could be released from prison if he awaits a new trial. I can say this categorically on behalf of all of those victims, some of whom i got to know and one man who i got to know and respect as my client. They would be devastated to see Jerry Sandusky released from jail, somehow walking the streets again when he did these horrible deeds, had a fair trial, was convicted. Sandusky was convicted in june 2012 of sexually abusing 10 different boys between 1994 and 2008. Philadelphia police are serving for two masked suspects who burst into a hunting park home overnight and fatally shot a father of six. The man died at the scene. His 40yearold girlfriend is now hospitalized in critical condition. Six children were also in the home at the time. None of them were physically injured but Police Say One of the children witnessed the shooting. His 13yearold son was in the room when his father got killed. I believe it was five additional children were in another room. Reporter police say the suspects left behind a sawedoff shotgun and some ammunition in an alley. Last week we told you about a Home Invasion that left an 81yearold victim injured. This week they have surveillance of the video of a vehicle tied to the robbery. A reward of up to 20,000 is available to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest. The man charged with murder in the shooting death of a Burlington County man was arrested today. Police say 26yearold samuel james was taken into custody around 4 00 this afternoon after being on the run since saturday. His bail was set at 1 million. James will have his First Court Appearance tomorrow. A man stabbed inside a bar has died of his injuries. He was stabbed Early Saturday Morning inside blue martini in old city. Authorities say he was stabbed in the neck after an argument started between the group of people he was with and the group at another table. No arrests have been made and the investigation continues. Work crews are racing against the clock to rid a south Jersey High School of asbestos. Workers installing a new heating and air conditioning system discovered the asbestos, a known carcinogen. It appears to be contained to the wing of the school that includes the cafeteria and the band room. The district says the removal is going on time and it does have a plan b if all the work is not completed by september 6th when school starts. Weve discussed split sessions, flg some students in the morning and some in the afternoon. We dont think it will come to that. The School System says it will not open the school until it is sure it is gone and Going Forward there is no health risk for staff. It will be 30 more days before delaware township comes to a decision about a proposed pipeline. Sunoco wants to build the pipeline to transport liquid fuels. The pipeline will cross the entire length of the state. Pennsylvania now ranks fifth among the states with the most reported cases of the zika virus. According to the centers for disease control, 69 cases have been reported in pennsylvania, 66 have been reported in new jersey, only 10 have been reported in delaware. All of these cases are travel related. New york has the most reported cases with 579. Cleanup continues in louisiana as thousands of residents began dragging furniture, appliances out of floodravaged homes. The number of damaged homes jumped to 60,000, meaning that very few places went untouched. 80 of Louisiana Residents dont have flood insurance, so more than 106,000 people have registered for fema assistance.
