eastbound lanes. the car collided with an s-u-v... killing one passenger in the car. the two people in the s-u-v were taken an iowa man is accused of severely beating a woman. michael kelley, of west branch, is now facing charges. he's being held in the cedar county jail. the woman was found in his bedroom and had to be taken to the hospital. she's remains in critical condition this morning. a man walks into a crowded restaurant -- and sets an employee on fire. authorities say a man doused the employee with some kind of liquid... and set her on fire at this restaurant in florida. the woman was " i had my yearly physical exam surgery.... thyroid... i ended up having a 5.4 centimeter tumor in my neck...." but that hasn't stopped emily from doing what she loves.. she's still working long hours. "8:30 in the morning until 7, 7:30 at night." "just knowing what she's going through it makes you kind of suck it up out here you know. if you're getting a little tired during any of those sprints or anything, you can use that as some ectra motivation." (nat sound: high five...) much the team supports emily.. one football player whose out with an injury says this week emily's starting a new food diet for her cancer treatment... he's going to do the diet with her to show his support. we've got you covered live in waterloo... amanda gilbert... kwwl her neck was about the size of her palm... doctors did remove it... but right now they are checking to make sure the cancer has not spread anywhere else. against the backdrop of breast cancer awareness month, new research this morning -- suggesting mammograms are even more likely to over diagnose. researchers say since screening mammography began, the number of women diagnosed with small tumors is up dramatically as the number dropped. they say that suggests over diagnosis of small tumors that would have otherwise never progressed. some are criticizing that study -- saying it should be taken with a grain of salt. "the basic process of looking people with early forms that will never progress to cause problems. we're not sure which ones they are so we tend to quarter of a million women will be a school district and a mom are going toe-to-toe right now over the walk to school. a family in georgia lives within the school's walk zone. in other words -- the kids are too close to be bused. but their mother is blind. she says the americans with disabilities act is being violated. the school district says it doesn't extend to the children of people with disabilities.
