the alert mentioned a man in his 30s was reportedly assaulting women near the west dorm and uihc on the university of iowa campus in iowa city... kwwls olivia mancino is in iowa city w the latest i have not heard back from the university spokesperson so there are still some unanswered questions , namely we dont know if this man is a student. health center area, hes described to be a white man around 5'10 with brown hair the hawkeye alert states the assaults were sexual in nature. again he is in custody now according to those alerts, they well be sure to pass them along issued for a sexual assault today -- the first issued at four in the morning... that suspect was described as a man, about five ten - wearing red flannel, ripped jeans and flip flops. he was seen near the hospital, a hospital parking ramp and the in continuing coverage... the third resentencing for a man who shot a police officer is pushed back... eddie chest's will be resentenced sometime next week. chest was convicted of shooting lieutenant scott baxter during the robbery of knickers saloon in 2009. this is the third sentencing for chest -- he's hoping to get his sentences served concurrently and the iowa court of appeals agrees. two iowa men who were allegedly planning an attack on the world pokemon championship plead not guilty to charges... kevin norton, from ames, and james stumbo from boone pleaded not guilty to weapons charges. police later found guns and ammunition in their car outside of the pokemon competition in boston back in april, after the pair allegedly posted online they planned to "kill the competition." the state fire marshal is investigating a fire that killed one person... it happened early this morning at an apartment complex on clarkview drive in charles city... firefighters found a victim of fire and the smoke inside... that person later died at floyd county medical center. nobody else in the apartment complex was hurt and their apartments were not damaged. the university of iowa is offering free vaccines -- after an unusually large outbreak of mumps hit the campus. a mumps outbreak has affected more than 100 people in iowa the mumps is highly contagious and is spread through contaminated saliva... so the university is taking precaution to end this outbreak. students swarmed the halls of the iowa memorial union for their free vaccination. those students getting the shot vaccination. "the career and technical education center will be built here on land near central middle lindaman says over time the school will provide more than 30 career and technical education programs. right now, des moines is the only location for a school like this. lindaman says this type of programs have better results for kids. " kids felt more prepared to go onto college and quite honestly a greater percentage of them did have this type of programming have a 92 now, waterloo has 70 to 75 percent graduation rate. lindaman says they can do better.
