approach a high of 50 degrees. monday is the start to a calm, dry, and sunny week with highs in the low to mid 50's. we start with breaking news this morning... several accidents on our valley roads. the first, an overnight crash that killed two police say two cars collided near boulder highway and desert inn around 10:30 last night the driver and passenger of one...were taken to hopsital where they later died. the driver of the car, is listed in stable conditon. police are also investigating an auto pedestrian accident at tropicana and koval this morning. we know one person was to the hospital. the extent of their injuries is unknown at this at this time. we will update you as soon as we get more information and ... a third crash -- this one, on the 1-15 near apex. n-h- p is on the scene. we're told it happened just before 2-a-m. we've put a call in to troopers are waiting for more information. just be aware of possible closures if you are headed to that area this mroning new details this morning about the woman hit and killed by a bus that veered off the road. it was breaking news in our show yesterday --- that crash happening around 5 in the morning near tropicana and polaris. woman, who's identity has not yet been released, was waiting at the bus stop when the 22-year-old r-t-c driver went off the road, hitting her. she died at the scene. police are still investigating what exactly happened no other injuries were reported . the r-t-c releasing a statement on twitter last night... quote "this morning's accident is a terrible tragedy... and our deepest condolences go to the victim's family. metro police is investigating the incident. as always, r-t-c remains committed to ensuring public safety." a man opens fire inside the pahrump nugget hotel and casino. the nye county sheriff's office says lee daniels fired a round at a woman during a verbal fight... then took off in a car driven by a woman, desiree lewis. the victim was taken to u-m-c with an injury to her leg. daniels and lewis were arrested in las vegas yesterday morning... and booked into nye county detention center. both face charges of deadly weapon. police have not said how the victim and suspects knew each other. new video surfacing this morning of el chapo, formally the most wanted man in the world. rolling stone magazine reporting the drug lord actually met with actor sean penn for a secret interview before his capture 47-1:09 ....still isn't closed captioning to resume shortly the article written by penn, details his secret trip to mexico. the interview reportedly lasted a total of 7 hours and touched on everything from presidential candidate donald trump to his drug business. no word yet on whether penn ever cooperated with autorities or if they're just now finding out about the video today marks day 9 of occupation for oregon saturday -- a surprise twist -- when a dispute broke out upon the arrival of another group of armed occupiers cory marshall was there at the standoff --reporter pkg-as follows-- reporter standup: that confrontation happened right about here...sidelining the morning press conference.. which takes place just over my shoulder here. the group -- a militia of their own. they moved in fast. "good news" ---- stories of inspiration. we start with a 12-year old arizona girl on a mission. she goes door to door in her community, collecting coats and blankets--for the homeless. she collected more than 1- thousand donations so far this year. her project has gone viral -- with thousands of reposts on her social meaida pages. a newlywed couple in new jersey,-- makes a special stop right after their wedding ceremony-- they went to the hospital to surprise the groom's 91-year old grandmother-- she couldn't make it to the wedding because she was recovering from broken ankle. the couple says her mouth dropped open when she saw them walk in -- all done up. the visit - just in time.. you see, his grandma passed away, just a few a single photo, is capturing the hearts of thousands of people online. it shows a young couple reconnecting after they were involved in a car crash. chris conte reports reports on how the couple's love for eachother-- is now inspiring love around the world. --reporter pkg-as follows-- as a graphic design student at lipscomb university arika stovall always hoped her work would get noticed. but this is something she never saw coming. the 21-year-old and her boyfriend hunter were on their way home on friday night. arika stovall/survived crash) "it was new year's day" neither one remembers how it happened. hunter came to as his pickup truck was seconds away from slamming into this bridge support. (arika stovall/survived crash) "i don't know how we lived through that." the picture of hunter's mangled toyota tundra provides context to injuries on his face. he's at home recovering in florida. (hunter hanks/survived crash) "i got a good gash across the forehead here." but it is a different however, it was a differenenmoment captured inside arika's hospital room that social media can't stop sharing. (hunter hanks/survived crash) "all i cared about was seeing her and making sure she was ok before me, i didn't care what happened to me as long as she was all right." a caption not necessary, their looks, their eyes and their neck braces were enough. (hunter hanks/survived crash) "anyone who looks at that photo can tell something happened and both were making sure we were ok." so far, the picture has made it's way around the world. neither of the two quite understands how... but messages they've received from pure strangers shows why. (arika stovall/survived crash) "i mean, we've gotten hundreds of messages just telling us that our story brought them out of a dark place in their life and changed their life and it changed their life." a life changing moment that apparently has changed lives and not just theirs.
