"this year is amazing. the weather is amazing this year. we have a lot more community support. we have a lot more sponsers and donors that helped us put on the event this year. so we are really excited." kids were able to take a ride on the polar express through a tunnel of lights. the foster children built the train for the boulder city holiday parade. there was also a silent auction held with all of the proceeds going toward saint jude's 'ranch for children.' the ninth annual 'jewel awards' were held saturday night at the rio. the theme was "diamond in the rough - a formal affair." fox five's john huck hosted the annual event. the 'jewel awards' showcase the best of nevada's multi- family housing community. they're given to individuals, properties, and companies recognized for their contributions and achievements in the industry. neiman marcus las vegas presented a sweet holiday wonderland at the fashion show mall today. the event was called "sugar and spice and everything nice." the edible holiday scene was made three hundred pounds of chocolate -- two hundred and seventy five pounds of sugar -- and fifty pounds of cake. the display was created by two local chefs -- robert teddy and travis martinez. both are current competitors on food network's "cake wars." (on cam tag) meanwhile - charges are expected against 24-year-old enrique a-r 15's used in the attack...although right now he's a cooperating witness with the f- b-i. in san bernardino, william la jeunesse, fox news. an f-b-i dive team reportedly pulled an object from the lake. investigators were looking for evidence that may have been dumped there after the massacre and before the couple's shootout with police. and we do have an update on that fire at the california mosque. police have made an arrest in connection to the case. 23-year-old -- carl james dial junior -- was booked into riverside county jail saturday. though he has not been formally charged... police say he was arrested on suspicion of arson, a hate crime, and felony burglary. (no name provided/employee) "i saw flames. the first thing i saw was flames. i felt the heat. and it was kind of nerve- racking because my officer is right next to where the fire started." "my co-worker was telling me 'get out of dodge, move your car' and, you know, hopefully nobody got hurt." one firefighter received minor injuries while working to put the fire out. officials are still working to determine what caused it. at least 23 people are dead and another 23 injured after a fire broke hospital in southwest russia. the fire happenes late saturday night. authorities say the fire has been completely put out. there were about 140 disabled people in the hospital at the time, 50 of whom were bed-bound. so far, the cause of the fire is unknown. british prime minister -- david cameron -- is calling for a ban on all high powered semi- automatic weapons. he's asking the ban be imposed in all of europe... ...and he says the measure is part of a crack-down on the illegal firearms trade. it's also part of a long term plan to counter terrorism. it's the last big shopping week of the holiday season... ...and candidates from both political parties go head-to-head again --right here in las vegas. fox's patricia stark has these stories and more in the 'week ahead.' tuesday- republican presidential candidates set to square off in las vegas one more time before the new year... it's debate number five for the g-o-p. candidates must meet a new selection criteria for this go- around... to be selected- poll at three- point-five percent nationally or have four- percent of the primary poll in either iowa or new hampshire. donald trump continues to lead the pack ... but the other presidential hopefuls will try to make up some ground. the debate starts at nine p-m eastern time. friday- last minute shoppers rejoice- it's free shipping day! thousands of retailers participate in this one-day event that offers free shipping on any orders... promising delivery by christmas eve. no need to panic if you miss out though..."super saturday" is the very next day! the last saturday before christmas... you can expect big crowds at your local stores and malls... this day is ranked the second busiest shopping day of the year behind "black friday." also saturday- president obama says "aloha"... the president and first family leave d-c behind ... as they head on their annual winter getaway to hawaii. mister obama is set to return to the white house january third. and wrapping up a busy saturday... it's the third round of the democratic bernie sanders and former governer martin o'malley try to make up ground and catch front- runner hillary clinton... the three candidates will take the stage in new hampshire at eight p-m eastern time. and that's a look at the week ahead. patricia stark, fox news. after months of support between two republican candidates -- one of them is now taking shots at the other. we're talking about donald trump and senator ted cruz. this comes just ahead of the republican debate being held right here in las vegas on tuesday. kristin fisher is in washington with the details. as the two top anti-establishment candidates... donald trump and ted cruz used to be quite friendly... and to a certain extent...still are. but yesterday... donald trump attacked ted cruz time. at a rally last night in iowa... trump questioned his commitment to ethanol subsidies... something very in iowa. cruz's appeal to trump says: "i do like ted cruz but evangelicals come out of cuba in all fairness its true not a lot come out. but i like him nevertheless." trump says: "well to the best of my knowledge there is a lot of oil in texas. so he gets a lot of money from the oil companies and he is totally against ethanol and i am not i am totally in favor." but - so far - ted cruz isn't taking the bait. he said yesterday on twitter - quote - "the establishment's only hope: trump & me in a cage match. sorry to disappoint -- donald trump is terrific. deal with it." trump chose not to attack cruz at a rally today in south carolina. it was a loud and rowdy event. in fact... several people were kicked out for interrupting trump and protesting his recent remarks about muslims. shortly after -- about a hundred miles away in greenville -- marco rub had this to say about trump's plan to temporarily ban muslims from entering the u.s. rubio says: "it's both offensive and inappropriate and frankly counterproductive. "this year is amazing. the weather is amazing this year. we have a lot more community support. we have a lot more sponsers and donors that helped us put on the event this year. so we are really excited." kids were able to take a ride on the polar express through a tunnel of lights. the foster children built the train for the boulder city holiday parade. held with all of the proceeds going toward saint jude's 'ranch for children.' the ninth annual 'jewel awards' were held saturday night at the rio. the theme was "diamond in the rough - a formal affair." fox five's john huck hosted the annual event. the 'jewel awards' showcase the best of nevada's multi- family housing community. they're given to individuals, properties, and companies recognized for their contributions and achievements in the industry. neiman marcus las vegas puts on a sweet holiday wonderland at the fashion show mall. saturday's event was named "sugar and spice and the edible holiday from more than three hundred pounds of hundred and pounds of sugar -- and fifty pounds of cake. created by two local chefs -- robert teddy and travis martinez. both are current competitors on food network's "cake wars." "i love it. i love working large. and neimans was very supportive they wanted something down that's exactly what you get." the display will be up from now until the end of the year. guests were invited to meet the chefs and participate in a raffle. the money from the raffle was given to three square food bank -- who was at the event accepting donations. nick putting a new spin on an age old tradition. fox's doug johnson reports on how one group is using cell phone ringtones-- to create modern day christmas carols. the music is hard to describe... (nats) palmer says: "i don't ennow how to describe it, it's like a sound cloud. it's nothing you'll ever hear of before or have heard before, but it's beautiful none the less." erin palmer organized un-silent night... which uses different people's smart phones and speakers to emit a modern day christmas carol. erin palmer, organizer palmer says: "it's four tracks which people can download on their get together in the park and the 4 tracks create a composition." the music is by new york composer phil kline... a composition which palmer says has been played every year all over the world... which is exactly how she first heard it. palmer says: "i used to live in philadelphia and when i was there one day i was just a witness i was on the street and it just passed me by and i was like what the heck was that." a similar reaction could be seen on the faces of many eating out at restaurants in midtown. but participants say they feel like they're spreading the holiday cheer. zill says: "i think it's very peaceful and calm." mos says: "it's really calming and beautiful... this is what the christmas spirit is all about." still some who happened to be walking by aren't so sure. mos2 says: "maybe if it was slightly less dis- coordinated it would be more like christmas bells... it's kind of loud and kind of annoying." mos3 says: "it's kind of scary." however other bystanders were a fan of the sound. mos says: "it's beautiful, i'd like to learn more about it. i'm going to look it up when i get home." and palmer says she hopes to continue un-silent night next year. surprise, surprise... drivers in over--expecting a ticket--what they got next...was much sweeter. police officers in kentucky gave some lucky drivers a big break this week... "i thought i was going to get a speeding ticket today.
