Fox5s peter dawson joins us in the studio with all the latest information on this massive wildfire. Here are the latest numbers, 25 personnel on the ground and in the air. And so far only 4 containment. 84,000 evacuees, the largest number of evacuees the red cross has seen for a wild fire in california. Red cross has set up several shelters including three animal shelters for larger live stock. And two shelters, one in fontana and the other in hesperia at Sultana High School for anyone needing a bed water or food. Yesterday 150 people sought refuge at the shelter i was at in hesperia. Most if not all have been evacuated many times before. Johanna santore evacuee he has been watching the news, he knows our area and hed seen pictures. I would like to just know is my house was going to be there or not. Yesterday i spoke with a family from Dublin Ireland traveling to los angeles. They tried to find a hotel but everything was booked from hesperia to barstow. The receptionist told the family about the shelter. Many of the travelers who were stopped in hesperia made the long detour around the fire after one night at the shelters. Red cross tells me they usually help about 10 of the evacuees. Yesterdays numbers were low for them but they are expecting more and this fire rages on. Hesperia and snowline School Districts are closed for the rest of this week.
