weather 24-7 forcast... meteorologist cassandra jones joins us now. good morning i'm cassandra jones with fox5. we are on track to tie a record high today with 75 degrees. that record was set in 1954. for the weekend we'll see sunny skies with a high of 74 on saturday, then 73 with north breezes 10-15 mph on valentine's day sunday. on presidents' day monday, we'll see a high of 74 degrees with lighter north breezes. the next weather changer for us will be wednesday and thursday with southwest gusts to 25 mph and highs for those days at 74 mountain shower chances & increasing clouds. here's your fox5 traffic solutions here is a look at your drive here are the accidents to watch out and alternate routes you can use listed on our maps here are the construciton areas to look out for and alternate routes listed on our maps here are your photos for the day back to the news desk. happening over night, there's heavy police presence at an apartment complex near desert inn and maryland. the situation began at 9 p-m at the maryland parkway apartments fox5's nick lagrange will have a live update to the situation in the 5 o'clock hour. a 41-day occupation of a wildlife refuge in oregon is finally over. the last four occupiers at the refuge surrendered to a judge today. more than 30 thousand people listened to that surrender live on youtube. and now, nevada rancher cliven bundy is behind bars. the bundy patriarch was arrested in portland wednesday night. his son, ammon bundy started an armed occupation weeks ago. ammon and several others were arrested after a standoff with law enforcement. people who live in this area say it's a welcome end to the drama. "i just posted hallelujah on my facebook post. i am so glad that this is over." " nevada assembly woman michele fiore is also in oregon. she says the fight isn't over yet, and she plans to be there as long as it takes for her to get answers into the protestors' arrests. the bundys say they still haven't spoken to cliven bundy since his arrest... they say they believe the charges against him are completely false... and just an excuse to target their family. fox5's cyndi lundeberg spoke to the family. the family tells me convictions they tell me when youre thing... you cant back down skipper- im getting tackled form behind ground i got a knot on my chin i got a loose tooth i got handcuffs skipper speece cliven bundy's personal body guard says wednesday night fbi agents followed him to walmart where they tackled him... and questioned him for hours. skipper- i do know it was fbi because it said it across their chest speece says cliven bundy decided last minute to go oregon and he stayed behind to watch the ranch and had a group of armed men waiting to escort cliven when he landed in portland. skipper- once it happenned i knew something had happenned to cliven bundy however was arrested immediately when he got off the plane and slapped with six charges... including assaulting an officer with a deadly weapon. all the charges stemmed from the 2014 stand off in bunkerville with briana- they had two years to file charges and if anyone knows cliven they know he doesnt own a functioning gun and nothing he did was his actions every charge he was charged with were done by we the people thursday the bundy ranch took extra precautions following cliven bundys arrest... including radios and headsets... they beleive the governemnt is nearby and monitoring them.. cheff 70 somethign yer old man in jail because they spoke make sense are not trying to start a war theyre trying to protect their livelihood and the rights of all citizens the bundy's and their supporters tell fox5 what's happening to their family should be a warning for everyone... cheff= we are now in nazi germany dont say a word dont open your mouth or well put you in a concentration camp cheff- the government is taking rights away they asy you dont need your first you dont need your second amendment anymore the bundys tell me they have no plan to travel to oregon and say they are very thankful for the support theyve received from around the country in bunkerville cyndi lundeberg police are asking for your help to find a purse snatcher. police released surveillance video of the man trying to grab a woman's purse at a fast food restaurant... but that thief quickly learned he picked the wrong victim. fox5's miguel martinez-valle shares with us the unbelieveable video. a man walks into a restaurant... and trys to steal a purse... but he chose the wrong person to steal from... after he tried to snatch her bag, the woman tackled him to the ground, then with a little help from an onlooker, she got her purse back, and the theif ran away... " we dont reccomend people necessarily going to this length of fighting because the risk to you is also very grave as well." police say this situation could have ended violently, so they don't reccomend for help in finding the purse snatcher. they say this happened the morning of january 16th... at a burger king on sahara and eastern. theyre looking for a 5 foot 9 balding white man in his mid 30's... " this suspect might also be a suspect in additional theft related crimes in that area." we went back to the area where the attack happened, and apparently this happens all the time. " i dont know its just dangerous out here" some of the ladies we talked to said the womans reaction in the video was necessary " of course you have to protect yourself but then its kinda messed up that girls themselves out here, it should just be like, man should sometime." and put in her wouldve done the same thing. wouldve done the same exact thing, but i do carry a knife with me just incase something happens. but on some circumstances you just have to let it go." miguel martinez- valle fox5' news local las vegas. police warn that could be too dangerous, and recommend doing recommend you that. in order to avoid falling victim to theft, they say you should keep any purses, bags, or wallets on your person, in the front of your body. in north las vegas, police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store at gunpoint. take a look. police say this man robbed the store on the corner of lake mead and losee, back on november 11th. witnesses told police the man went up to the counter with a handgun and demanded cash. police say he got away with about 900 dollars. thankfully, no one was hurt. if you know who any of these suspects are, call crime stoppers at 702-385-55-55. president obama is requesting funding to help combat the zika virus. the c-d-c and other groups testified on capitol hill yesterday. congress is considering president obama's one point eight billion dollar request for emergency funds. health officials say they're concerned about people in more tropical parts, like puerto rico and the u-s virgin islands. researchers are working quickly to develop a "(anthony fauci, m.d., director, national institute of allergy and infectious diseases) we will likely go into phase one clinical trial with this vaccine sometime in late summer and i hope after several months we'll know if it's safe " there are now more than 50 cases of zika in the u-s. researchers say a massive outbreak here is unlikely. but they still warn pregnant woman to stay away from places where the zika virus is spreading. hillary clinton and senator bernie sanders faced off over the african american vote in last night's democratic presidential debate. fox's patricia stark, has the story. the democratic candidates for president fight over the black vote at thursday night's debate in wisconsin. sanders says: "what we have to do, is the radical reform of a broken criminal justice system." hillary says: "so when we talk about criminal justice reform and ending the era of mass incarceration. we also have to talk about jobs, education, hillary clinton is now trying to solidify her support from african americans in south carolina... which holds it primary later this month. after senator bernie sanders won the female vote in new hampshire. stoddard says: "young african americans, young latinos, they're young too. not just young white people are attracted to the message of bernie sanders." while sanders criticized president obama over his policies... hillary clinton is trying to paint her candidacy as an extension of the current administration. hillary says: "the kind of criticism that we've heard from senator sanders about our president i expect from republicans, i do not expect from someone running for the democratic nomination." sanders: "maddam secretary, that is low blow. i have worked with president obama for the last seven years." krauthammer says: "when she specifically came after sanders for his attacks on obama. i think it was a way of saying you have disrespected this icon in black american history." but g-o-p candidate donald trump thinks he will steal the african the democrats... if he is the republican nominee. trump says: "we will have so many african americans because they understand me, they know me, they know i'm going to bring back jobs from china." " it's a very special feeling. one of the things people who period, it's a very very close community in the rebel basketball program. we're a family, we supported one another, and we still do as much as we can." danny says he's working on a book about his father's life, and hopes to publish it next year... says and a movie script is in the works. unlv students also paid tribute to the coach. laid flowers, stuffed animals, and of course towels on jerry tarkanian's statue on campus. tarkanian coached unlv's basketball team from 1973 to 1992. the team won the 1990 n-c-double-a championship under his leadership... and also went to four 'final fours. the dancers of jubilee took their final bows.
