after a long day and night of waiting... the paris casino is back up and running at full power. i'm christine maddela. i'm john huck. we have team coverage. fox5's abby theodros spoke with restaurant owners and vendors... but first -- we start with adam herbets with an update on how construction crews can count themselves lucky. oh john christine abby and i have both been out here since yesterday morning when this happened around 915 the good news though is that the nightmare is over the paris casino is open and you can see right behind me that also means the beer park is open certainly a lot of people last night could've used a beer to relax because we're you watching the news last night? it was tense let me paint a picture for you we're all out here trying to get the latest caesars entertainment there the parent company that owns the paris casino and right behind us right behind me right behind the cameras was a huge mob of people asking their own questions they were upset i want. we were handing the microphone over to them to let them ask some questions at this point one of the things were still trying to figure out is the name of the contractor the name of the construction company that started all of this they were in the basement they weren't even working on the somehow someway someone drilled into that mainline and completely knocked out all of the power for almost the whole day they're saying it's honestly just a miracle that he was able to survive this accident in fact there weren't any injuries at all yesterday that's the blessing that's the silverlining because it was dark in there and the whole building needed to be evacuated the other thing we're still waiting to try and figure out is how much money this is going to cost the casino chunk of change because there's so much that goes into a place like this on the strip you have a spa. you have a pool. you have restaurants. floor. you have convention space. meeting space. everything's up and running again. closed captioning closed captioning will resume shortly the day long power outage caused a lot of problems for guests and gamers alike. but what about the restaurants that were affected by the outage? fox5's abby theodros joins us live near some of those affected restaurants with how they handled the unexpected challenge abby: beer park and hexx are just a few of the restaurants that were forced to shut down yesterday. there were also a number of shops inside the hotel affected by the outage. camera and they tell me they were prepared because they've had a scare similar to this one. one restaurant had two freezer trucks on standby and were able to salvage all their expensive proteins. as for the guests - they were given vouchers to neighboring hotels including balleys and excalibur. others say they never got any information on where to go or what to do. paris hotel executives tell us- theyre compensating each guest with two nights at the hotel for free for all their trouble. closed captioning closed captioning will resume shortly paris las vegas has a helpline for affected guests. we have those numbers on the screen. you can also find them on fox five vegas dot com. just click on the story on the homepage. today is the final day for early voting... voters who haven't cast a ballot by the end of today will have to vote on election day if they want their voices to be heard. fox5's eric hilt talked with some people who waited until the last day to cast their ballot and is live at the early voting location at the galleria mall. this is the line of people waiting to vote... workers say today - the last day of early voting - is by 11 this morning, 9-thousand people had cast their vote... by 3 pm? 28- thousand people had voted at early voting locations. and while some places like this one have a bit of a line voters i spoke with say it's worth the wait to get a weight off their shoulders.
