we're a little more than halfway through the early voting period... and still breaking records for voter turnout. i'm faith tanner. thanks for joining us. today more than 25-thousand voters hit the polls in clark county... proving once again that this election is bringing more people out to vote. fox5's kathleen jacob is live at a polling location... after talking to voters all day. kathleen? faith, this polling location is closed now... but at the rate people have been coming out to vote... tomorrow morning when these doors open this place will fill right back up. "give me a v, v, give me an o, o, give me a t, t lets go vote!" (nats cheer) this is my first time voting, like ever. from first time voters... it's always exciting for me to come back and cast my vote and kind of make my voice heard. to more seasoned... this election is bringing out the masses. we're still breaking a record nearly every day. today we were at 24 thousand at 4oclock so we're well. (nats woman guiding people in) a sign that this election has more people realizing the importance of their voice. at first i was kind of like "oh, voting doesn't matter. like, i don't matter, but then like the more and more i read about it i was like oh i should probably vote. that's probably a nice thing to do. to me if you don't vote you can't say anything, i feel like i'm trying to contribute to the furtherance of our community both locally and nationally. where do we want the delegate to go? where do we want our nation to go? and no matter where you want our nation to go... one thing both sides can agree on? i feel like these two presidential candidates have really brought up like a lot of passion. whenever there's controversy people get excited and they get more passionate and it makes people think about the issues and why they're important. there are still 6 days left to vote early... another deadline to keep in mind... if you still want to get a mail in ballot... that deadline is november first.. so tuesday at 5pm. reporting live...kathleen for a list of early voting sites and all things election 2016-- head to fox five vegas dot com. the countdown to the election continues.. and we're getting quite a few v-i-p visitors.. vice president joe biden rallied in fox5's alyssa deitsch brings us more on his visit. nats scuffle protestors outside the hillary clinton rally saturday were few compared to the hundreds of supporters... but the few had to be separated by metro police. nats police clear the street nats he's an instigator just minutes before.... biden addressed the cheering crowd of union workers. nats battle born... battle born sot biden- on supporting unions union members from across the u-s have been in several weeks now-- sot mos - california sot mos -arizona sot mos- texas -- helping their local counterparts go door-to-door, encouraging people to get out and vote for hillary clinton. sot 1st mos - hillary is for working families (butt to sot on losing union member at trump building) sot biden- he is unfit to be president. "we encourage everybody and anybody to come out it's just a big gathering for her, and it would really be appreciated." the family is at about an hour ago. they are selling food and stickers. if you'd like to help-- the family has set up a go fund me page. we have that link on our website-- fox 5 vegas dot com. a woman found dead on a sidewalk earlier this week... has been identified. and a suspect is now behind bars facing murder charges. police say 28- year-old moinee wade was shot in the head... and left on a sidewalk near alta and jones on wednesday. 39-year-old jevon hudson was clark county detention center yesterday. authorities have not given a motive... or the connection between the suspect and victim. but during the early stages of the investigation-- homicide detectives said it didn't appear to be random-- and could be domestic related. a person is recovering in the hospital tonight.. after a shooting near fremont and charleston. police say it happened just before 9-30 this morning.. a possible suspect is in custody. okay. an american airlines jet caught fire on a runway in chicago.. oh my god it happened when the plane blew its tire.. before taking off from o'hare airport. 20 people were transported to hospitals with minor injuries.. crew members used the emergency slides to get off the burning plane. it had about 43- thousand pounds of fuel on board. we're a little more than halfway through the early voting period... and still breaking records for voter turnout. i'm faith tanner. thanks for joining us. today more than 25-thousand voters hit the polls in clark county... proving once again that this election is bringing more people out to vote. fox5's kathleen jacob is live at a polling location... after talking to voters all day. kathleen? faith, this polling location is closed now... but at the rate people have been coming out to vote... tomorrow morning when these doors open this place will fill right back up. "give me a v, v, give me an o, o, give me a t, t lets go vote!" (nats cheer) this is my first time voting, like ever. from first time voters... it's always exciting for me to come back and cast my vote and kind of make my voice heard. to more seasoned... this election is bringing out the masses. we're still breaking a record nearly every day. today we were at 24 thousand at 4oclock so we're well. (nats woman guiding people in) a sign that this election has more people realizing the importance of their voice. at first i was kind of like "oh, voting doesn't matter. like, i don't matter, but then like the more and more i read about it i was like oh i should probably vote. that's probably a nice thing to do. to me if you don't vote you can't say anything, i feel like i'm trying to contribute to the furtherance of our community both locally and nationally. where do we want the delegate to go? where do we want our nation to go? and no matter where you want our nation to go... one thing both sides can agree on? i feel like these two presidential candidates have really brought up like a lot of passion. whenever there's controversy people get excited and they get more passionate and it makes people think about the issues and why they're important. there are still 6 days left to vote early... another deadline to keep in mind... if you still want to get a mail in ballot... that deadline is november first.. so tuesday at 5pm. reporting live...kathleen for a list of early voting sites and all things election 2016-- head to fox five vegas dot com. the countdown to the election continues.. and we're getting quite a few v-i-p visitors.. vice president joe biden rallied in fox5's alyssa deitsch brings us more on his visit. nats scuffle protestors outside the hillary clinton rally saturday were few compared to the hundreds of supporters... but the few had to be separated by metro police. nats police clear the street nats he's an instigator just minutes before.... biden addressed the cheering crowd of union workers. nats battle born... battle born sot biden- on supporting unions union members from across the u-s have been in several weeks now-- sot mos - california sot mos -arizona sot mos- texas -- helping their local counterparts go door-to-door, encouraging people to get out and vote for hillary clinton. sot 1st mos - hillary is for working families (butt to sot on losing union member at trump building) sot biden- he is unfit to be president. (cheers) sot mos (woma n outside on "other candidate wh not be named") but not all union members we spoke with said they were pro-hillary before hearing biden speak. sot- i would have been one of those americans that didn't vote.... did biden have anything to do with that? hell yeah. vice president biden is hitting our battleground he was also in reno for another rally this afternoon. house speaker -- paul ryan -- is also in town today.. campaigning for congressman cresent hardy in north las vegas. this was at the pearson community center this morning.. ryan spoke about a plan called "a better way"-- focused on fighting poverty. he says the war on poverty has been running for 50 years and needs a new approach. ryan says it needs to be focused on a local level-- with cresent hardy... being on the forfront of the plan. cresent hardy is the man with a big heart who says i dont have all the answers, but i'm going to go find out where they are, and where i see these great things happening i'm going to get behind them. ryan and hardy went door-to- door this afternoon.. encouraging voters to get to the polls. tomorrow donald trump will campaign on the vegas strip. the trump camp just told us friday morning.. that he plans to be right here in vegas this weekend. he's scheduled to rally at the venetian at 11 a-m.. doors open at 8. -- just head to our website to r-s-v-p. some clouds were looming over the valley this afternoon... but will they bring any showers our way? les is here with his first look at weather. a southwest flow will keep daytime temperatures several degrees above normal sunday. the big issue for us for the weekend will be developing winds. a wind advisory has been issued for sunday and goes into effect at noon until 9pm. sunday gusts are forecast at more than 30 mph in the valley, 40 plus mph in our mountains.. the front that is triggering the winds will bring us cooler halloween. a candle light vigil is being held tonight for an eighteen month old baby... that was killed earlier this month. "we encourage everybody and anybody to come out it's just a big gathering for her, and it would really be appreciated." the family is at about an hour ago. they are selling food and stickers. if you'd like to help-- the family has set up a go fund me page. we have that link on our website-- fox 5 vegas dot com. a woman found dead on a sidewalk earlier this week... has been identified. and a suspect is now behind bars facing murder charges. police say 28- year-old moinee wade was shot in the head... and left on a sidewalk near alta and jones on wednesday. 39-year-old jevon hudson was clark county detention center yesterday. authorities have not given a motive... or the connection between the suspect and victim. but during the early stages of the investigation-- homicide detectives said it didn't appear to be random-- and could be domestic related. a person is recovering in the hospital tonight.. after a shooting near fremont and charleston. police say it happened just before 9-30 this morning.. a possible suspect is in custody. okay. an american airlines jet caught fire on a runway in chicago.. oh my god it happened when the plane blew its tire.. before taking off from o'hare airport. 20 people were transported to hospitals with minor injuries.. crew members used the emergency slides to get off the burning plane. it had about 43- thousand pounds of fuel on board.
