(joan biskupic, scalia biographer): in many ways. certainly this larger-than-life figure, a larger- than-bench figure, someone who embraced both the law and a life beyond the court." a judge with street smarts and a well- calculated conservative view of the law and its limits on society: (scalia/no name font): "i'm not driven. i enjoy what i'm doing and as soon as i no longer enjoy it, i am outta there." joe johns, cnn, washington. attorney general adam laxalt released a statement about justice scalia's death. quote "today our nation lost one of its finest public servants. i am deeply grieving the loss of justice scalia in two ways -- as a friend blessed by his kindness... and as an american blessed by his wisdom. few in the history of this nation have done more to defend... preserve... and protect the united states constitution. the focus of the republican debate in south carolina changed after the sudden death of supreme court justice antonin scalia. fox's john roberts shows us what the presidential say exactly one week before south carolina voters head to the polls. the sudden death of conservative supreme court justice antonin scalia changed the tone of the republican debate in south carolina: dickerson: so just to be clear on this mr trump, you're okay with the president nominating somebody. trump: i think he's going to do it whether i'm okay or not. i think it's up to mitch mcconnel and everybody else to stop it. it's called delay, delay, delay. kasich: "i believe the president should not move forward and i think we ought to let the next president of the united states decide who is going to run that supreme court with a vote by the people of the united states of america. strengths and weaknesses in foreign policy experience were also major factors: dickerson; it's your first day in the situation room, what three questions do you ask your national security experts about the world? trump: what we want to do, when we want to do it and how hard do we want to hit prior to the face- off senator marco promised a better performance than what he turned in during the last rubio: i think there are three major threats that you want to get on top of. number one is what are we doing in the asia pacific region where both north korea and china pose threats to the national security of the united states. number two is what are we doing in the middle east with a combination of a sunni shia conflict driven by the shia arc that iran is now trying to establish in the middle east and also the growing threat of isis. and the third is rebuilding and reinvigorating nato in the european theater. there were a few surprise moments during the debate. bush: i could care less about the insults that donald trump gives to me it's blood sport to him and he enjoys it and i'm glad he's happy about it. but i am sick and tired of him going after my family. my dad is the greatest man alive in my mind and while donald trump was building a reality tv show my brother was building a security apparatus to keep us safe and i'm proud of what he did. the economy was also a hot topic. cruz: everyone understands at home that the middle class has the obama economy and we've got to bring jobs back, we've got to get people back to work , we've got to get wages going up again, we've got to get people moving from part time work to full time work, we all agree on that but it's not all going to be solved with magic pixie dust it's not just going to be solved by declaring into the air, let there be jobs. the democratic caucus is a week from today- next saturday february 20-th. the republican caucus follows on tuesday february 23rd. only registered republicans and democrats can caucus. today was the last day for republicans to register if they want to take part. democrats have until the day of their caucus to register... and they can do that on site. valentines day is tomorrow... and many are rushing out to buy last- minute gifts for their special one this holiday. almost half of all americans will get their loved one flowers. the national retail federations say they'll spend nearly two billion dollars on bouquets. the report says of ninety dollars this weekend. almost 90-percent of fresh cut flowers that come into the united states arrive in south florida. they have to be hand-approved for disease and pest free. and speaking of flowers -- these will light up your valentine's day. more than 25- thousand l-e-d roses were on display at hong kong's harbor front this weekend. the traveling garden is part of a world tour that originated in south korea. more than eighty people helped plant them. the white roses symbolize pure and innocent love. couples came out to enjoy the sight. "yeah, i think, i think it is a bit (romantic) and i think it's awesome. it's rarely, i mean relatively there is little chance to have these kinds of installations in hong kong." the roses are waterproof -- so they can light up rain or shine. those looking for a furry friend to be their valentine this year can adopt one for a sweet price. the animal foundation has 57 for a forever home. adoption fees for dogs and cats six months and older is 14 dollars through monday. the deal is a part of the animal foundation's 'the one' special. there are forty dogs... nine cats... six rabbits... one turtle... and one pig up for grabs. the goal is to have every animal adopted by valentine's day. some veterans step outside their comfort zone. how country line dancing helps them cope with life after service... free advertisement for one eligible bachelor. who set up this billboard to help a single man find a valentine's day date... and the response he's getting. your fox5 weather 24/7 forecast is gotta dance... and some veterans are cutting loose on the dance floor as a form of therapy. natalia martinez takes us to kentucky where it all started. you could say it's the music or the fancy footwork that draws them in. "i was here dancing three minutes and i had a great grin on my face and i looked around and the other vets were grinning, the volunteers were grinning." dancing well's organizer says the idea started to help improve soldiers memory. they quickly realized it also lowered pain, reduced anxiety and reconnected bonds. it's even inspired this veteran to sign up as a volunteer. "i know some of the things that help them and i hope i can incorporate it and help these people in that way too." after this go- around... organizers hope to turn things up again soon as long as the vets are willing to give it a chance.
