He was tried with rape and ultimately convicted of Sexual Assaulting a 15yearold girl. Chelsea prout is 18 and ready to tell her story. And said publicly what happened . Yes. Yes. Why did you want to do that . Well, i feel ready to stand up and own what happened to me. Reporter on a spring evening in 2014, 15yearold jesse proud went on a date with then senior owen labrie. I was raped. I was violated in so its been more than two years since the incident took place and a year since he was acquitted of felony rap charges but found guilty of a lesser felony and four misdemeanors including Sexual Assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He was sentenced to a year in jail but is out on bail, appealing his conviction. They said that they didnt believe that he did it knowingly. Definitely did do it knowingly. Throughout the trial he maintained the encounter was cons consensual. What happened when you tried to go back to school and i guess it seemed like everyone knew . Everyone pretty much knew and none of my old friends who were boys would talk to me. And nobody was talking about the issue itself. The school came under fire for its handling of the situation and for what some said allowed this to occur. What do you hope happens to him now . Do you ever think about that . I dont, i hope he learns, i hope he gets help. Because if he doesnt learn, he will do it to another young woman. Reporter she chooses not to talk in detail about that night. I have been trying forward. Reporter and says its her familys support that has helped her the most. Even when i get my panic attacks and i lock myself in my closet because i dont want my little sister to see me like that and shell come into my closet when im rocking on the floor. And punching my legs trying to get myself to calm down. And shell try and give me the big els hug and shell say, chelsea, youre okay, and i just cant imagine how scary it is for other people to have to do this alone and i dont want anybody else to be alone anymore. Reporter through the mangled mess of cars, ed staff spotted one vehicle on fire, smoke and flames pouring from the sedan and elderly woman the windows wouldnt go down and she was screaming to help her get out. Reporter staff ran to find a fire extin extinguisher, chris white stepped in to help. She was trying to get out of her vehicle, the doors were stuck shut from the collision. Reporter soon two more join the rescue. But the inferno grows. It must haee be in a care that was on fire like that. Reporter together the men carried the elderly woman through her passenger window to safety, incredibly, her injuries only minor. It was unique, because the four of us had never met each other before, in fact this was the first time we had ever even seen each other, but we were able to come together by some unknown force and Work Together as a team and their harrowing rescue, these four together once again, the mayor of binghamton calling them heroes, for reasons we can all clearly see.
