eastern plains will stay dry for the next 24 hours in the temperatures above normal and we should be close to 72 with highs in the upper 70s, low 80s and 60s close to the foothills. the current temperatures are mild with 50s and 40s on the map and truly are closer to the foothills where the temperatures are in the 30s. radar and satellite is quiet and dryer, as well and we will wake up to sunshine when the sun comes up. 7:00, 52 degrees and the temperatures in the 60s by 9:00 with plenty of blue in the sky. i will let you know what is in store, coming up. new evidence recovered may help investigators figure out what caused the deadly crash of a commuter train in new jersey. investigators are hoping they could get information about the trains speed and use of the the train sped past the stopping point in hoboken and rammed through a concourse on thursday and someone standing on the platform was killed. there was a conversation over a statewide transportation budget. >> the peacefully overnight, over a different killing by police. it involved a black man was armed. protesters marched at the apartment building where reginald thomas was killed friday morning and deputiesus tasers on him, twice. they said he was armed with a knife and was on not -- was not cooperating. they put him in handcuffs and noticed he was not breathing and they saved him with first aid. he leaves behind eight children. in south carolina, a fourteener boy accused of killing his father and shooting a teacher and students faces charges as a juvenile. the boy has not been identified because of his age and faces charges for murder and attempted murder. townville elementary school in anderson county on wednesday. the teacher and two young students were hurt, one of them six years old and suffered critical injuries. the boys father was dead in the home and a source close to the family said the teen was homeschooled after bringing a machete to school earlier in the year and investigators are trying to figure out the motivation. a former denver firefighter will have to register as a sex offender as part of a plea deal, accused of exposing his genitals top he pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure and in june, aurora police arrested him after witnesses said he was masturbating in a candy store at the aurora town store. he resigned after the arrest and his sentence includes two years of supervised deferred judgment, which means he doesn't break the terms of his plea deal, he could get the case expunged. >> disturbing. marijuana away from children, new state measure is looking to change the look of edibles. the new law said they need to be clearly marked with a red diamond and the letters thc and a warning. has to let the word m -- and the word candy it has strong wind at 155 miles per hour. through tomorrow morning, it could get even closer to jamaica and the island of hispaniola. we will look at this very closely, as it approaches the big-time rain or any kind of snow but we welcome a brand-new month and the average snowfall for october is four inches in average high, 65 and the average high is 37 degrees. into the weekend, warmer
