the shooting of the kansas factory. illiquid boy found out his father was inside the plant when the gunman started shooting, taking three lives before police shot and killed him. 15 people her including eight- year-old owen miller's dad. this little boys dad was helping a lot of people when he was confronted. >> right harlem -- right, he was confronted by the shooter himself. he was yelling the codeword for people to escape when he came face-to-face with the shooter. he was shot in the chest and leg. he is expected to survive. miller was able to contact her late last night and asked her to be very gentle and telling their son what happened and when their son heard he'd been shot he said quote that was mean. she says her ex-husband helped of this. >> he was yelling the codeword to evacuate to other employees, and he yelled it to a guy he thought -- he saw and the guy turned and said i know, and then shot at them. this morning we are learning much more about the shooter. he was served with a protection from abuse order from work shortly before the work -- the shooting. he believes that's what triggered the attack. >> thank you very much. flags have been lowered to half staff in colorado to honor corporal nate carrigan. he was shot and killed serving an eviction notice on wednesday. colleen ferreira joins us this morning and colleen, the park county sheriff's office says
