She hasnt touched fireworks in 30 years so, you imagine her shock when she got this citation from the city san jose for 500 for fighting illegal fireworks on june 12, the night the warriors won the championship. I couldnt believe t i dont follow basketball, i knew it was happening though. I was not outside. Nobody in the family was outside that night. I was in working at home. Reporter neighbors were slapped with citations, one for 500 for june 7, and another for 700 for july 4. I feel upset, like no evidence. We have a legal standing for the way we Issue Citations and the city staff followed the protocols. The superintendent mcgee, and Legal Counsel are leading retreat. I think its important that everyone at the School District understands what the response, and approach to these issues is and how to comply. Reporter the policies are supposed to protect students from harassment, and make criteria for reporting crimes crystal clear. Months ago, there was a four year investigation that was complete, that found the School District failed to tape appropriate take appropriate steps in alleged Sexual Assault dating back to 2013. In may, our series of reports detailed how a student athlete was convicted of having oral sex with a minor in a school bathroom, but the district it not initiate a title 9 investigation. He said the summer break has allowed progress on compliance. Weve been back and forth with policy revisions, and now theyre in place for the board approval. Theyre in final form.
