>> you know it has been interesting being here because it has been quiet. they are trying to keep things calm i believe, at one point it appeared that the man threw a phone out of the window of the car which apparently had been one of the things they were using to negotiate. so it is difficult because one of the reasons they are keeping us back is if he is armed, they don't want anyone in the line of fire. >> all right thank you. stay with us as the skags continues unfolding. better continuing to monitor the stand off and bring you new develop maepts. we will have more live coverage coming up at 11. we will continue promoting free speech to speak freely no matter who is against us. >> the issue is a fascist moment on the right. >> now to berkeley and a duelling protest over free speech. this was round three in the civic center pack at right wing activists held a rally on the day that a conservative speaker was going to speak. five people are arrested but it was a coupler protest than past clashes. >> absolutely hundreds of people were here and we now both sides have called it a battle for berkeley. we have soo seen violence in the past but not this time. >> i haven't raised my fist or swung at no one. >> this was one of few arrests, a man who said he was in custody for expressing his opinion. >> i have a need to be here to protect the freedom of speech. >> there was plenty of opinion going around. >> trump wants to add millions to the military budget. >> discussions that went on hours after the rally. >> we won't take no for an answer. >> the headliner was a serve betive person who red the speech-conservative speaker who read the speech. >> you can see how big the crowd is we are going to be the ones getting tired. they will get tired first. >> anti gay, trump go away. >> trump opponents were noisy but on the perimeter with a heavy police presence keeping the sides apart. >> duelling bull horns but no fighting that got people bloody during earlier clashes. this time the black block protesters didn't show in big numbers. >> we are showing up with the idea (indiscernible). >> while some had shields and helmuts, throwing words was a welcome change. >> the vast majority of berkeley lefties support free speech. they support her ability to speak here and hate she was not here to speak. >> there is no such thing as hate speech, it is free speech. >> by day's end five arrests in or around the park rachlging from drugs, a weapon and resisting arrest or trying to incite a rite. >> we are not hitting each other with sticks so if we continue in this direction where we have open dialogue right?
