dangerous out there. >> reporter: divers from the sheriff's office used underwater sonar equipment to search for the man. just after 6:30 this evening they found his body 15 feet under water 40 yards offshore. they first recovered some of his clothes. >> as he was going under water he was probably trying to shed some clothing just to reduce some of the pull of the water. >> reporter: these pictures show you where the family was missing as it looks like a creek that enters into a larger body of water where the rocks are current. the man was found not wearing a life vest. it's unclear if anyone was wearing proper safety equipment. there's no public access to this park with no life guard or park ranger. a sad reminder to take precautions out into the water even if it looks safe. >> you want to keep an eye on your children any time they're in any kind of water no matter in this particular incident it appears to be expected unexpectingly. >> reporter: neighbors tell us the family lives in a nearby ranch and likely walked in. the sheriff's office says the men who died was in his 30s. they're not releasing his identity at this time. in morgan hill i'm azenith smith ktvu fox 2 news. new at 11:00, a 16-year-old teen hit by a pickup truck in vallejo and dragged 100 feet has died from his injuries. the collision happened on thursday around 8:45 in the evening near george's street. police say the teenager was bicycling with his father on the right-hand side of the road when the truck hit them from behind. the 43-year-old father suffered minor injuries. the accident is still under investigation. officers are trying to determine if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash. oakland firefighters in the dried out oakland hills today looking for potential fire hazards. it's important to know where the crews and the access trails are located. goats are no long eating the dry grass -- goats are no longer eating the grass. >> so they're getting into the most dangerous part of the season here. this is actually slated to happen again in early august. >> fire officials are warning residents to stay on guard and most importantly if you smoke cigarettes they don't want you under any ordinary cares to flick your brush. officials say that is a top concern for them followed by people operating mowing equipment or other machinery that could cause sparks in dry brush during the hot weather. a wildfire that started around 3:00 this afternoon has triggered evacuations. cal-fire says the baker creek subdivision wase -- evacuated. so far it's only 10% contained. it's also producing so much smoke people in lake county are reporting visibility problems. in antioch a car fire sparked a 30-acre grass fire near highway 160 happening at about 6:00 tonight. the fire forced the closure of the ramp to highway 60 for a brief period of time. viewer trevor harris sent us this video. you can see the large plume of smoke and flames off the side of the highway. the fire was out and the roads reopened just before 7:30 tonight. even though a red flag warning expired in 1999, today's heat fueled those fires. we are heading over to meteorologist mark tamayo. mark, some areas you saw triple- digit temperatures today? >> way up above 100 degrees. in fact santa rosa is the one that really stands out. 108 degrees. once again across the bay area we're starting to warm things up yesterday. triple digit temperatures yesterday and today we topped out those levels. take a look at all the neighborhoods over 100 degrees towards brentwood and vacaville and danville. saratoga, gilroy 102 degrees. so way up above 1 -- 100 as well. a heat advisory has expired. showing you a few records out there as well. san rafael tieing the record 97 degrees. mountainview is really heating up at 99 degrees. san jose at 97. here ask a look at some of your temperatures for today with that 108 in santa rosa. all those triple digits for vallejo, cant jobbing, livermore. not nearly as warm. only in the upper 60s. it's a pretty good breeze capping those temperatures near portions of the bay, but away from the influence as you see temperatures soaring for this afternoon. coming up though we've got some cooling relief to talk about in your five-day forecast. i think you might like that. we'll have it all coming up in a few minutes. >> mark, thank you. new details tonight on two wildfires in santa barbara county. governor brown has declared a state of emergency. the alamo fire has burned almost 29,000 acres since it began on july 6 and it's now 95% contained. the cause of the fire is being investigated. the whittier fire continues to burn out of control as firefighters deal with hot, drink conditions. that fire started on july 8 along highway 154 in the lake chakuma area. it's only 36% contained. evacuation orders are in effect for several areas. nine people went to the hospitals after a collision involving a wrong-way driver. it happened in eastern contra costa county last night. it happened near brentwood. an investigator said a car reported stolen slammed into marx inivan killing seven people. the crash happened shortly after 8:00 last night and closed highway 4 for almost two hours. >> they went to the helicopter and multiple patients by ground. there were two people in the car going the wrong way. one managed to get out on his own and the other had to be pulled out. the officials say seven people in the minivan were also hurt with the most serious injury of a broken leg. the youngest child was air lifted to benoit children's hospital because of the child's age. an infant kidnapped in san francisco is safe this evening after police rescued the baby from the suspect on the muni bus. police say a woman snatched the six-month-old girl from the father's car. after taking in the baby, witnesses said the kidnapper got on the muni bus with the baby and they reported seeing the baby near bay shore and alameda. the officers were able to reunite the parents with the baby. the baby was taken to the hospital to be checked out as a precaution. president trump launched a new twitter attack on the media today. first thing this morning he tweeted, "with all of its highly slanted and fraudulent reporting, fake news is distorting democracy in our country." he also said, "hillary clinton can illegally get the questions to the debate and delete 33,000 e-mails. but my son don is being scorned by the fake news media." the tweets come over the now infamous meeting last summer between the president's son and the russian lawyer. president trump's approval rating has now dropped to the lowest level in 70 years for any president with just six months in office. the abc washington post poll shows 36% of the americans approve of the job he's doing. 58% disapprove. 60% said russia tried to influence their campaign. two-thirds don't trust him to negotiate with world leaders and half said they would prefer obamacare to the republican plan. just 26% like the version. they are coming to an unexpected, but temporary halt. mitch mcconnell is postponing the vote on health care because senators john mccain is recovering from surgery in arizona. as gary ten kneereports -- tenney reports, mccain's absent makes it impossible to vote against it. >> this delay means the senate won't be holding a vote on the revised health care bill for at least another week while the senator is recovering. in the meantime majority leader mitch mcconnell will have additional types to win over his republican particularly those representing states that have expanded medicaid under obama care. mcconnell has made a number of changes to help ease those concerns by giving the state additional funding. today majority whip john cornen says they are giving the bill a much better shot at passing. >> republicans have made repeated promises in elections leading up to now. we could do better. this bill has gotten much better as a results of the discussions we've had amongst ourselves. >> at that point none of the citizens have come around to support the bill. susan is one of two republicans planning to vote against the bill, so there is still an 8-10 lawmakers with deep enough concerns that it may not pass. i don't know. i think it would be extremely close. there are many of us who have concerns about the bill particularly the cuts and the medicaid programs. but they have other problems with the bell. >> reporter: the budget's office was set to release their health care bills tomorrow, but this afternoon they will hold off on releasing their report while the senate leadership sees one other changes they  could make. in washington i'm gary tenney fox news. this woman gave birth in the back of the car. 2:40 a.m., stole some property, then took off in an older model sedan possibly a taurus with three other people in it. the suspect description is vague. it's a black man with short dread locks and a grill on his lower teeth. anyone with information is asked to contact berkeley police. a memorial service is planned for a prominent san francisco philanthropist who died in a plane crash last week. the event to honor william sax goldman will take place tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. goldman's grandparents created the environmental prize. he was an assistant professor at usf. the 38-year-old was killed when the single-engine plane he was piloting crashed thursday. his two children and their nanny were also injured in the accident. we're getting our firsthand look at the crop dusting plane that also crashed in sonoma county. county sheriff deputies were called to the crash site on saturday afternoon. the small plane crashed near a vineyard south of the community of kenwood. the pilot walked away from the crash and wasn't hurt. an investigation is now underway to find out why it went down. a 45-year-old man is in grave condition after being severely beaten across from the veterans memorial building. a person driving by saw the victim being viciously beaten. when that driver honked their horn, the attacker ran away. the victim was taken to the hospital and has since been placed on life support. police say they don't have a motive for the attack and they're trying to figure out if the suspect and victim might have known each other. more than 7,000 people trekked through golden gate park for this year's san francisco aids walk. the fundraising event has been going on for 31 years and has raised more than $2 million for hiv/aids and non-profit groups. as allie rasmus explains organizers say this year's event struck a political tone. >> reporter: cheers and applauses as more than 7,000 people took their first steps for the aids walk in golden gate park. behind the festivities and smiling faces, concerns about the future of health care loomed. >> i'm a person living with aids for more than 24 years, 25 years. if they take away my health care i might have two years to live if i'm lucky. i'm dependent on the meds. >> reporter: kerry says medicare helps pay for his $2,000 a month medications. event organizers say the republican's health care bill in the senate has created a new sense of urgency. >> the reality is we will strip away health care from some millions of people. many of those people are people who are living with hiv, who need support. >> reporter: speakers rallied the crowd with a push towards political activism. >> we must resist the clear and presence rest. >> there is something in the air that it's time to rise up again. it's time to fight for people who deservedly need our help. >> reporter: organizers set up this station for people taking part in the walk to carry those signs specifically referencing pre-existing conditions in the health care debate. >> so i beat terminal cancer and it's been five years, but i still can't get health care on my own. >> reporter: melanie lives with bone cancer stage iii. >> this event spoke to me just because there are so many people who have different pre- existing conditions, cancers, diabetes. >> reporter: at an event like this it feels like everyone is walking the same path to fight for and maintain their access to care. in san francisco allie rasmus ktvu fox 2 news. mark tamayo i'm guessing there's a lot of people in santa rosa and other parts of the bay area who are just wondering if they're going to get some relief? >> yes, it has been a bit too much over the past couple of days, especially for today. that santa rosa temperature at 108 degrees. tomorrow we'll begin to cool things off. it's not going to be an instant drop off. those numbers are showing hot temperatures out there. still in -- still in the mid to upper 90s. but still some improvements from a very hot temperature. the red flag warning has expired. the heat advisory has expired, so we are trending in the right direction. right now we could use some fog, but we're in the clear down to the south down towards southern california. i suspect probably by this time tomorrow and into tuesday morning we'll have some fog approach the region. actually some showers and thunderstorms in the southern sierra drifting off into nevada. right now we'll check in on some of the current in your opinions for the 11:00 hour. look at this during the 11:00 hour we still have some 80s to report out towards concord and out towards walnut wall -- towards walnut creek and san jose. obviously pretty tough sleeping weather here in the inland neighborhoods with those readings on the warmer side right now. outside right now looking out towards the bay bridge towards san francisco. not much of the way of fog to it too. we are talking about it just yet. but we could have a few patches redevelop coast side and right around the bay tomorrow morning. as i mentioned we will begin to cool things off into your monday, but probably the day you'll feel it the most. that'll be on tuesday as this weather system moves in. that'll reenforce the cooling and a bit of a breeze out there as well. winds are kicking up around 15 to 25 miles an hour. it's a cooler on-shore breeze that will eventually bring more of a relief. here is our forecast models. not too generous with the fog tomorrow morning. we could have a few patches out along the coast and for parts of the bay. then into the afternoon hours there's a lot of sunshine out there. we'll bring in the sunshine with the mid-60s coast side and some 90s as you would be working towards fairfield. we'll break it down for your monday. there's the 95. vallejo 89. vacaville in the upper 90s. around the bay area itself, we're thinking about 80 degrees. head inland and you'll find all those numbers for danville and out towards antioch and brentwood. down the south bay 94 degrees. sunnyvale 86 and the coast never really warmed up too much at least compared to the inland heat and the wave of those temperatures for tomorrow mainly in the 60s to right around 70 degrees. here's a look ahead. i think you'll say oh this is a nice day. that'll be on tuesday. then a pretty quiet pattern and eventually we could be talking about some warming by the weekend. >>
