Now there are concerns the rain could trigger land slides on charred slopes. Erosion experts say some Earth Movement is inevitable, but as long a the coming rains are not heavy, the risk is minimal. New information about a deadly weekend shooting that happened outside a club in San Francisco. It left one woman dead and another young woman in critical condition. Tonight, weve learned that the two were shot after being involved in a minor fender bender. Ktvus amber lee is at San Francisco general. She spoke with the victims mother about what the loss means to her loved ones. Reporter frank, the 21year old victim is here with life threatening injuries. Tonight, we spoke with the mother. It hurts so bad. Me and my daughter, we was like this. Inseparable. Reporter amanda blake described her daughter as the light of the family. Hoping to become a lawyer with the dream of helping young people. She was the first in our family to go to college. Reporter every saturday, she would coach the Basketball Team in hayward, where she once was a student. Mom showed us this cap she wore, when she headed out the door on saturday night. It was around 2 00 a. M. , when warren and her friend left the club. She got into what investigators describe as a fender bender. Her mom says a detective told her, the driver of the other car jumped out and shot him 15 times and then approached melquisha. He went around to where my baby was. She had her hands up like this, and he shot her in the face. Reporter mom says she wants justice for her daughter. Its hard. Im not going to have my daughter coming in at 2 or 3 when she gets off work. Hear her coming in looking for something to eat. Its painful. Reporter she would have celebrated her 24th birthday this saturday. She asked for a fish fry with oysters and to wear her warriors outfit. Mom tells me, she will still have the vigil, only it will be a memorial, and her daughter will be buried in her warrior outfit. New at 10 00, the man suspected of repeatedly kicking the head of a sleeping homeless woman in San Francisco was charged today. Timothy chase faces two counts of felony assault. Hes scheduled to appear in Court Tomorrow San Francisco thrice did not launch an investigation, until the chief became aware of the video obtained by ktvu. A man pleading in in the july killing of an 8yearold girl. Darnell williams is the suspected gunman. Prosecutors say they went to an apartment on wilson street, rang the doorbell, and williams opened fire. Alaysha carradine was killed. Three others were wounded. Prosecutors said the men went to the home to confront a man who was not there. A 64yearold man from hayward has been identified as the innocent victim on a high speed crash in 880 in oakland. The driver hit was a former linebacker on the oakland raiders. He was also killed. Kate spoke with neighbors of the innocent victim. Reporter Highway Patrol workers said the man who died was one time nfl star, thomas howard. The 64yearold driver behind the wheel of this crv never had a chance to get out of the way. In hayward, neighbors of liu say he was headed home. Chp officers say howards black bmw was going north at speeds of more than 100 Miles Per Hour when he lost control. It actually bounced along the freeway, and went head on into the suv there. Reporter both liu and howard died at the scene. Lius wife got the horrible news on vacation in china. I just feel for her. Sad. Reporter howard, a linebacker for the raiders from 2006 until 2010, was just released by the atlanta falcons. A long time friend and high school teammate told ktvu, hes struggling to accept what happened. He was a laid back guy. Funny guy. He had the community. He had his friends. He was a guy that you would want to be around nonstop. Reporter investigators say there were no obvious signs out here that howard might have been driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but they are waiting on the results of a toxicology report before they will rule that out. Ktvu, channel 2 news. New at 10 00, a decision tonight that means Police Officers in palo alto will soon be wearing body mounted video cameras. The city Council Voted unanimously today to buy the body cameras. Initially, just nine officers will wear them. The cameras should help record evidence, and increase officer safety and accountability. Its part of a 300,000 camera upgrade for palo alto police. Patrol cars are also going to be upgraded with cameras that will face in all four directions. At issue, a contract provision that will give workers six weeks of paid family medical leave. B. A. R. T. Ktvu spoke with some about how that incident unfolded, and what happens now. Reporter cell phone video shot friday afternoon inside San Franciscos Valencia Gardens housing complex shows an angry confrontation between police and residents. I started hearing that my brother screaming out that he couldnt breathe, so i really got worried. A man in a gray shirt has been punched by an officer. Thats considered reasonable force. That suspect initially had a confrontation with other officers. He was ordered to leave not once but twice. Police say the melee began after three officers identified themselves and attempted to stop 20yearold paris williams from illegally riding a bicycle on the sidewalk. The officers chased him to his apartment. His sister says he was dragged outside. One had a knee in his back. Another had one at the back of his head. And the lady was rushing to put the handcuffs on him. Reporter police say were trying to interfere. I know him. Hes employeed. He goes to school. He just recently picked up an interest in photography. This whole incident seems out of character for him. Reporter police have charged him with resisting arrest, and battery of a police officer. But late this afternoon, prosecutors discharged the case, spending further investigation. Williams friends and family say they will hold a rally tomorrow, protesting police brutality. An inmate at san quentin who he was released early to relieve overcrowding has now faced three more felonies for a chase and crash last friday night. The Contra Costa County District Attorneys Office says sean rogers is charged with evading police, causing injury, and leaving the scene of the accident. Authorities say he initially, or rather they initially started chasing him, because he was driving a stolen car. Rogers then crashed into another car, and injured two women. One remains hospitalized. The other suffered a broken arm. Rogers had been serving time at san quentin on a weapons charge, before he was released. The faculty is asking for a formal review of how the school is being run. Ten days ago, administrators announced cuts to classes and reversed them. The faculty is asking to review the administration. As of tonight, investigators are not releasing any information about a possible motive or suspects, except to tell me that two people, including the shooter ran from the scene, into a residential neighborhood. He was a wonderful, wonderful young man, smart. He had a good heart. He was a beautiful, beautiful child. He didnt deserve to die. He didnt deserve to die at all. Reporter police tell me, they did not receive reports of a fight, or disturbance at the park before they received reports of shots fired. A lot of questions about what led up to this shooting. His father says it wasnt until this weekend he realized his sons body can be seen on google maps. He tried, and failed to contact google, and we aired his story last night on sunday.
